- In the penultimate GaMetal song of the year, we're headed back to Final Fantasy VIII once more for this highly requested remake of the theme of Ultimecia's final form: The Extreme!
The FF8 soundtrack was a bit different from the previous games in the series, but I've still always loved it. A few months ago, we took on Force Your Way with ToxicxEternity, and I got a bunch of requests (on top of a lot of requests from even before that) for the final, final boss theme from the game: The Extreme.

For reference, I've told myself that I'm copying this request in every video until I'm heard and acknowledged, and I'm not stopping now. Prepare yourselves, my dudes.
It's more likely than not that you have never heard of this game, but by sweet mother above, the final boss theme from Denpa Men 3. It's a very, very obscure game, but it's final boss theme is some of the most intense stuff I have ever heard in my life, and hearing a remix from the god of metal remixes would add full years onto my life. If you find the motivation within your heart to do The Dark Prince’s Theme from Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (you did a marvelous job on the Main Battle from the same game a while back), the final boss’s theme, I would be eternally grateful.

@@SharkWithFreakinLaserBeam Man your young I was 16 when this came out. I played FF1 when I was 8 and I hated it I didn't get into FF until 6 came out in 94. Then I went back to 1 and wondered why I hated it so much. Probably because I didn't have the map for it when I rented it. The original came with a map you needed.
The absolute best Final Boss Theme that makes you reminisce about your whole life and all the troubles you’ve been through in life, all the difficulties and hardships you had to go through in order to learn and grow as a person with the Knowledge to proceed further in life and do better things and not repeat certain mistakes in life. This song really touches my soul, FF8 is such a trip and that’s what makes it my second favorite after FF6. FF5 is my third favorite.
I feel FF8 is severely underrated, then again I liked 13 aswell lol.
FF4 is my all time favorite though, it started the idea of actual character driven story which wasn't touched up as much in the "warriors of light" trope of the old games
Ff8 is my absolute favorite one of the series, but admittedly that came after following a certain theory and understanding how the body reacts when you're dying. After that theory I can totally see it and as a man, it brings a tear to my eye by the end. Very tragic game with that theory in mind.

I tease.. I agree with you 100% this song is very likely my favorite end battle theme of any game, not just Final Fantasy. It transcends time, pun intended 😅
The build up is just insanely perfect...Guitar, piano, choir...
There may be no hint to what's next, but that's not stopping everyone from guessing it's gonna be Void Termina.
That being said, The Extreme is so heavily underrated considering it comes from the same series that gave us Dancing Mad and One-Winged Angel. I know Final Fantasy VIII is considered to be the black sheep of the PlayStation era, but boy, it at least made up for itself with its soundtrack.
FF8 is a great game, I think some people exaggerate on its flaws

Ugh this is why i love your covers! you dont just use guitar to replace all the original elements from the tracks such as piano and sound effects unique to those tracks. while other people are the same in this aspect, you however always find the right tones to use to make the track sound like the original BUT now as if it was a metal tune. fantastic job man your stuff inspires me to wanna re learn how to play instruments.
Little minor thing that i noticed (I've watched/listened a bunch) is that while he's shredding out a solo, he has footage of a Renzokuken in the background.

@@LordThomasPassion It's actually impossible to kill Ultimecia I'm a single turn because she has set points of invulnerability to allow her to talk. This is most easily seen on Irvine if you have his strength up to 255 and you use Fast Ammo. If you really want to see it, hit her with Meltdown first to nullify her defense. Depending on her current HP value, you'll see she takes 0 damage per shot after a while. Fast ammo is actually insane.
This is probably the best cover I've heard of this song. I'm a little upset that it took somebody this long to do it, but I'm still grateful nonetheless. Final Ultimecia is my favorite boss in the entire series which makes this cover that much more enjoyable.

I need to play this game again as an adult. Don't think I truly understood it back then and besides it's been a long time.

4:25 Perfectly timed Renzokuken at the start of the guitar solo! This was an amazing cover and I am stunned by its awesomeness. One of the best final battles in a FF game- it might be my absolute favorite! Excellent work!

This was the first OST that made my blood run cold. The intro is nicely sinister for a last boss fight.
To hear it transformed into metal, gave me the chills once more.

DUDE Im watching FF covers since FF exists but you are clearly one of the best. You nail it every time. I wonder why but only the FF music give me this special feel of "emotional hype drive" As a musician (piano & e-guitar) I feel the geniousness in the FF master pieces ofcourse even deeper but its something more. I dunno why but the music does so deeply touch my soul it as if it would set me instant on flames. Not only the extreem exciting boss battle themes but the hidden pearls as well. As is the music could direct inject honor, bravery and will. Hearing that while pumping surely lets the weights become lighter XP. Hearing FF music lets u believe everything is possible.

5:11 That solo segment was actually pretty insane my man! First tapped arpeggios, than sweeped arpeggios an last both combined. Kinda reminds me of that scene from DB Z, when goku showed boo the three stages of a super saiyan.
Its been such a long time since I took Music theory courses in College so being reaquainted with much of the terminology was refreshing.

This is one of my favorite Final Fantasy boss themes. I really love the acoustic intro and how it progresses into electric guitars. The one other song that could have very nice acoustic parts is 'Scrap and build ourselves' from Eternal Sonata, although those would probably be better off with just Piano. That final boss theme is my favorite of all time, because it blends in Chopin, my favorite classical composer with Motoi Sakuraba, my favorite Japanese composer. Once I have it, it will add a third favorite musician, Jonny Atma and I will have the triforce of my favorite composers of all time. Therefore I request it now and on every new video by GaMetal. On. Every. Video. Until. I. Get. It.

One Winged Angel rightfully gets all the hype, but I actually like The Extreme even more as a final boss track. FFVIII is maligned by many, but it was my favorite FF until Remake & Rebirth.

I never played VIII, never really cared to but I did buy the soundtrack, pretty damn good songs on it.

It seems like you've posted a billion songs, and then when I go to search them (I've searched for this one 5 times, forgetting each time that it never existed), it's not there!
