EDH Ban Update - Golos, Tireless Pilgrim Banned in Commander

The Commander Rules committee has thrown down the ban yet again this time with the most popular Commander of all time; Golos, Tireless Pilgrim. In related news Worldfire has been unbanned (not that it really was an issue in their first place). At the end of the day Rule 0 still reigns supreme with unwarrented, confusing bans like this making players lose faith in the rules committee. What are your thoughts on this format update?

I think teching mainboard land hate is pretty bad outside of making a specific meta call. Then again, I don't play EDH, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, Lutri is banned because it's free card advantage in EDH and places decks that aren't running it at a strict disadvantage. If you "draw" Lutri into your hand and cast it, even if it gets countered your opponent essentially just 2-for-1'd themselves. This is irrespective of the deck construction railroading that's bound to arise within the CEDH metagame once Lutri strategies have become optimized - which is an additional problem unto itself. While Lutri is not strictly OP by itself, there's a non-zero chance of it imposing a metagame-warping influence that risks homogenizing the format. Overall, I see the Lutri ban as justified.

Oh I totally get it and see why Lutri is ban worthy. That being said, I still think they should let the otter out for some fun. EDH is a format open to a ton of creativity but for some reason the rules committee doesn’t see it that way. But the RC is made up of long time MTG judges so as far as balance and mechanics go they definitely know more that me.

It’s time for lower tier have there own ban list , and higher tier there own rules , like you said two different tiers can’t compare

@@MaceValor it’s the honest truth , if there saying this ban was because lower and mid tier players golos is way to powerful then higher tier should have there own separate RC for them … you can’t compare higher level players with lower players and have these type of ban effecting them because lower/mid tier can’t hang with the big boys …. Same thing with hullbreacher they ban him because in lower/mid tier he was way to powerful , higher Competitive players they didn’t have any issue with hullbreacher
