Great to see you again. You are such an amazing teacher I have learned so much from you over the past couple of years. Thank you so much for your time and sharing your talent.
Hello Clare glad your back with your wonderful tutorials. I'm not very technical, & after getting a new tablet last year my Son has only just recently set it up for me. So I can now thumbs up & subscribe to tutorials . it must be about 5_6 years now I have been watching your tutorials & basically you taught me how to crochet more than just a granny baby blanket. Ha ha! I have made many many of your projects over the years, but I just wanted to thank you at long last for teaching me & inspiring me with all your wonderful projects. Erica x
Thank you for all the effort you put on your videos. Thanks to you i learned to crotche, you are an amazing teacher. Been watching your videos for years, at first i had a lot trouble but with time i learned a lot. Thanks again, i am so hooked. Lol.
Just started the "showl" using Red Heart Real Teal and Dark Orchid. Toying with making it with three colors adding in Shocking Pink! They're the three colors I wear the most. I'm enjoying making it and hate to see it end! I love your videos, you're very clear and detailed. Had a hard time at first with the double crochet foundation but I got it watching your instruction. Not your fault, it's my 61 year old brain!! Keep up,the good Work!
So glad you did a tutorial for this cowl! I saw it on pinterest and bought the yarn and hook for it, but couldnt quite get the foundation started, even with the little video they had on the website. your's is a lot slower. Only thing I would say is the yellow was a bit bright and hard to see at the very beginning, but after some pausing I didn't really have any troubles ^.^ Can't wait to work this up for myself! (also there was an edit i believe, for the repeats, i think she said it was 112 instead of the 113 but I'd say anyone looking to follow the patter look at the blog before they start to make sure)
Thank you so much for your great feedback about the yarn colour. I always love feedback to make my tutorials better Also thank you for the info about the pattern
I love this video. the only thing that would make it better would be to see the project fully just a few shots of it. but your voice and way of teaching is wonderful :)
YAAAAAY YOUR BACK, i've missed you so much, I also had a bit of a holiday from crocheting, it was just far to hot in Bundaberg, Queensland to work with yarn, our summer went right through to the end of March. Hope you had a lovely break and a wonderful xmas This project looks so amazing and I can't wait to get started on it, thank you for all your time and hard work you put into your tutorials and helping others achieve beautiful projects
Sorry, but you told what size the yarn is in the beginning, I guess my TV movie got my attention. I feel so bad about my dumb question. I love all your beautiful videos. God bless you. You have made me very happy
I don’t have a computer just my iPad so I don’t have any information on the cowl. I need to know what size yarn. I did see the size 10mm crochet hook. Please help me with information. I really like your video and I know I can do this amazing work. You are doing very well. Thank you so much for your time.
Used the same size yarn and hook, but there's no way it's wide enough to comfortably wrap around my shoulders and then wrap around for the hood. I ended up undoing most of it and leaving it around 20 rows so I can wear it as an infinity scarf. And it's not a loose scarf just wrapped around my neck twice. I'll be trying this again, but I'll try adding at least another 50 or 100 foundation stitches
G'day Sarah Hankins thank you so much for your feedback. Do you have tight tension ? I know I have loose tension and this could be the difference. Also too if you used different yarn that can affect the tension
@@CrochetwithClare On the foundation hdc, I was definitely pulling my loops it so they wouldn't be tight. I usually wear medium sized shirts and sweaters, and I don't consider myself a large person. It can go around my neck twice like an infinity scarf, but even then, it's not loose enough to drape. I guess it must be my yarn. It's a medium size 4, but maybe it's on the smaller end of the spectrum. I'm starting my re-do today with the same type of yarn and a longer foundation hdc chain.
Hello Chris, yes I am in Australia. You can purchase the Red heart Super Saver from www.redheart.com I have seen it occasionally on some Aussie websites like this one yarnover.com.au/classic
Beth O'Bryan I just learnt how to do foundation dc and I think once one has perfected the technique it’s faster to do as your doing essentially two rows at once.
hey, I want to make this but I am having a very bad time trying to do the fhdc stitches. Could I do a normal foundation chain and then just go back and do hdc stitches? If so how many chains?
Great to see you again. You are such an amazing teacher I have learned so much from you over the past couple of years. Thank you so much for your time and sharing your talent.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, happy crochet
Hi Claire I love doing Foundation chains and the way you're showing how to do it is very clear. Thank you

the yarn to be used is red heart reflective. it is a bulky weight yarn
I don’t have a computer just my iPad so I don’t have any information on the cowl. I need to know what size yarn. I did see the size 10mm crochet hook. Please help me with information. I really like your video and I know I can do this amazing work. You are doing very well. Thank you so much for your time.

I loved the arm band. What happened to the video for the tutorial for the oversized cowl? Am I missing something here?
I think UA-cam must of had a glitch, there should be a video for the cowl :)
Hi Clare, it's very Pretty!
Thank you so much, yes Simplycollectiblecrochet.com has really pretty patterns
welcom back 😄
Thank you :) Yes I was a great holiday, I did some Vlogging so will get it edited and uploaded for all to enjoy :)
Are you in Australia? If so where do you get the Red Heart yarn? I am in Adelaide and would like to try the Super Saver.
Hello Chris, yes I am in Australia. You can purchase the Red heart Super Saver from www.redheart.com
I have seen it occasionally on some Aussie websites like this one yarnover.com.au/classic
That's so nice
What's the difference of the foundation hdc as opposed to chaining the number and doing hdc as normal?
Beth O'Bryan I just learnt how to do foundation dc and I think once one has perfected the technique it’s faster to do as your doing essentially two rows at once.
I've missed you!
Thank you, good to be back
hey, I want to make this but I am having a very bad time trying to do the fhdc stitches. Could I do a normal foundation chain and then just go back and do hdc stitches? If so how many chains?
Shurtorra Wold I think it would be 227 - 225 for the main part and then 2 for the turning chain
Thank you
Yes that sounds correct :)
great idea...must try it!
love your videos. thank you for sharing with us. looking forward to purchasing the needles
Thank you for watching
making this today
Not sure why mine isn't coming out as big as yours looks. I was going to attach a pic of mine one but can't find where on here.
Hello Cindi, you can not attach a photo on UA-cam :)
What yarn and hook size are you using ?
bobwilson123 I use the same yarn and hook you used in the video
lovely thanks
Thank you for watching
How can you get a even court with a 225 court , that you have to divide by two.
Because your ch1 counts as your first stitch :)
J'adore mais j'arrive pas faire!
I am wondering if I could make this into a shawl and not a cowl?? how could I do that??
Yes i think so, i would not join it at the start and work back and forth :)
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and happy crochet to you
lovely thanks!
How do you get the Red Heartyarn in Australia? I live in South Australia.
Hello, I have ordered it straight from their website before www.redheart.com
