The Importance of the Surgeon-Anesthesiologist Relationship in Regional Anesthesia

Successful regional anesthesia for optimal patient outcomes requires a collaborative and collegial approach between surgeon and anesthesiologist. This short lecture summarizes some of my personal thoughts on the matter.

This was part of a joint surgeon-anesthesiologist panel session. It was impressive to see the knowledge and level of active involvement of the orthopaedic surgeons in Chile in the acute postoperative pain management of their patients. And the synergy of the partnership with their regional anesthesiologists.
