Awesome video and idea. Thank you was just out in high winds and 38 F temps and wondering how to make the burners better. I have a Topo 1 and able to get a 0.9 and 1.2 mm orifice in the small and large burner without any yellowing of the jets. Also have a Skottle windscreen lying around which will work with our smaller pots and an old taller windscreen from backpacking that will work for all the stove. Thank you.
New sub here...I think I'll be doing the same thing when I get mine in. I also am coming from the 20k BTU camp chef stove. I have never needed the fill 20k but I'd definately want more than 8. The standard is 10! So strange that these expensive trailers don't have a quality stove.
@@honey2badger I am not sure about a warranty on the stove itself, though a propane stove is a simple mechanical device. I did back off on the large burner's output partly because I was worried the heat would reach out too far while using a large fry pan and cause problems with the drawer the stove is mounted in. I suppose the other risks are using propane more quickly and having less clean of a burn, which could cause some soot on the bottom of the pans, though I haven't noticed this yet.
@6xLand thanks for the quick reply. I got the kit from Amazon like you and will be doing that same mod. Cooking is half the fun of camping for me. A quick question on the water in your trailer. I've seen some complaints on Facebook of leaks when doing elevation changes while driving and or fittings possibly leaking. Have you had any leaks at all?
We did have a fitting that was not screwed down when it came back from some warranty work (early production issues). I just had to tighten it properly.🤷 Otherwise we're at 7000 ft right now, and I have noticed a slight drip from the drain tube sometimes. This is connected to a pressure relief valve, so I assumed it was just protecting the plumbing as designed due to the change in atmospheric pressure.

I wouldn't say that it's not a quality stove, just not the output I am used to. It's been working great so far with the new jets though!
@@6xLand curious if that voids any warranty or if there are any risks involved with that BTU increase?

Great idea!
