- Decided to make a video of doing a tank removal and tune up involving taking off the air box to clean everything. Hope this video helps anyone trying to work on their bike.
Thanks for Watching!
My Bikes:
2007 Aprilia RSV1000R
2008 Suzuki Hayabusa
Great job. Just picked up an 09’ and I’ve never had an Aprilia of any kind before. Just changed air filter, cleaned the butterflies and changed the plugs. Your vid was very helpful. Now on to front brake pads, fluid and clutch flush and fill. A little bit of front fork weeping so I gotta change the seals. Thanks!
Glad I was able to help. Was very few if no videos on how to do it, so I decided to make them myself. I know you will love your new bike!
thanks man i just changed the coils / leads and plugs on mine, great vid
Awesome, glad the video was a help
This was helpful. Cracking me up with putting parts and tools everywhere- on the mower, tractor, ground, 😂 .
Lol have to use what ya got. At least i remembered where everything was.
Really good in-depth video, me personally I would of change the fuel filter while I had the fuel tank virtually off. But great video 👍
Yeah i ended up changing it no to long ago, wasn't very dirty at least. Fuel pump went out a month ago and ended up just replacing the whole assembly
Great video, it will help me a lot when I change my filter and plugs. .. Please get yourself a little work bench to put your bit and bobs on i felt sure you were going to lose some of the parts lol
Thanks man, and you're completely right, need something or at least a decent cart, lucky I didn't loose half the bike
Esa guerra ya la tuve yo, a parte de lo que has hecho tú. En mi caso saque las tapas de árbol de levas, para sustituir las juntas. Ya que rezumaba aceite.
Good vid.
Thanks man. Hope it helped
Soon. =D
mike.. sorry asking noob question.. but since i left away my bike almost a year.. wanna change the spark plug.. i forgot its size.. does it 8 size?
I think off the top of my head that they are 16mm sockets.
hahaa sorry 8mm size.. that sounds unlogical.. thx mate.. :)
nice bike and great video thanks! What sparkplug models number did you use?
Thanks for the comment. I used NGK PUGCPR9E. They really helped bring the bike back alive.
@@lordofbiscuits1911 Thanks man, not the iridium ones?
@@fxue_ Honestly I had good reviews with the regular plugs and they run great so I couldn't complain.
Hey dude that’s a great video, but I saw a 2005 aprilia rsv 1000. And the problem is on the aprilia the clutch level is very wobbly and it won’t start the bike. Everything works I turned the key and press the clutch level and press the start button. It won’t turn, I’m not sure what it’s call but the little box of the rpm miles thing is not in place. The owner of the bike Saids it’s something about the safety Sensors. It’s not letting the motor turn
I wounding if you could help me out with the problem???
@@ernestogonzalez2023 can check the start solenoid, starter fuse, starter itself, and maybe the kickstand sensor. Good places to start. Also can you push start it?
Hey man I followed along as you removed air box cause I had to repair the throttle checked that the butterfly valves were opening completely. which they did but once i put it back together and started it she isn’t wanting to rev over 5500 rpm you got any idea what could be going on? thanks hopefully you can get back to me pretty soon I’m kinda bummed out
So i would check the throttle control solenoid, also see if its running on just one cylinder perhaps. Also would check compression
I just purchased a 08 Aprilia rsv1000r yesterday and need to change my plugs and check the air filter. Did you not gap your new plugs? If you did what is the gap size?
No didn't check the gap. All the plugs are pregapped so I didn't check
@@lordofbiscuits1911 so if I buy new ngk plugs will they come pre gap?
@@mikecollins9577 they should be. Been checking them for years and they've been good so I stopped
@@lordofbiscuits1911 ok awesome I appreciate the quick response
Also great video bro
great video. I just bought my first aprilia rsv 1000r 2007 but i need to change the tank :) where did you get your exhaust from?
Those are universal exhaust tips I bought from Amazon I think. They are still working great today. Just cut the factory exhaust and adapted muffler to the old slipons. You will love this bike!
@@lordofbiscuits1911 nice. How many spark plug are there on this engine? Which one to use?
This engine has 2 plugs total and I used plugs NGK DCPR9E
@@lordofbiscuits1911 thanks for fast replay.
No problem.
Did you change ecu to map 2 when you changed end exhaust
Sadly no. I need to reflash it, but so far no issues
@@lordofbiscuits1911 I have had my rsv for 2 months with mivv gp exhaust and it have run 5000 miles and I just heard it have map 1. I'm afraid the engine have taking damage with running full exhaust with map 1.. I have tried now to find a dealer in Sweden that can help me but no one have the software to change. glad to hear nothing happend to yours. Mine is still fine aswell but you never know .. but i think you must drive very very hard on full exhaust with map 1 to damage the engine.
You only changed 2 plugs while there is 4.
The second gen RSV1000R only has 1 spark plug per cylinder. First gens had 2.
awesome bike uglyazz swingarms... nobody likes a Vespa compared to a superbike... what was Aprilia thinking with that ugly shiny thing? Though I may buy 01 rsv...lol.. if can figure out how to do fuel system work and clean injectors? $800 shop fix..lol
Doing the injectors is pretty easy. Just takes time to pull them out and a can of cleaner. Yes, the swingarm could look better but it works great
The 01 RSV Mille...... black red trim version.... that I'm thinking about buying started out $2800.... 4,600k miles.... said would crank run great little bit and then cuts off? Said shop assessed "needs fuel system work and injectors cleaned" $800..... so, seller dropped to current $2200 and buyer fix it.... bike looks almost mint other than needs both tires replaced too...... What do you think it shout be worth like it is for cash? I also found another RSV yellow version but cant get seller to respond period... I don't think yellow bike post was real.... just think dude was trying to look cool standing by such a monster arrogant Superbike...lol punk guy looked like a young Bob Marley..hehehe.... still shows for sale $1,000..... Awesome price.. says starter turns engine but no start... never got him to answer me day one.... got $1k cash in hand right now.... guess he's prejudice wants to sell to a trench town rock dude or something...... he looks like riding a Italian Superbike..lol
@@kennethjohnson6223 probably just a scam for the yellow rsv. The other one is probably just a fuel system and maybe a valve adjustment. I suggest you see if they will have it sent to a shop before buying and write up a contract to buy if they can fix it for a price range.
