Did God Literally Create the Universe in 6 Days? | Ken Ham

  • The evidence that ordinary days are being referred to is so overwhelming that even liberal Hebrew scholars admit that the author of Genesis could not have had any other intent-particularly when the words ‘evening’ and ‘morning’ are used from the first day.

    Mr. Ken Ham,
I wish I could tell you how much your lessons mean to me. I was agnostic, lukewarm, agnostic, atheist, lukewarm (house built on sand) my entire life. Like many, I also fused historical science with the Bible or counted Genesis off as just a fable. This was all during one of my lukewarm charades, and felt I knew the right from the wrong biblical views.
Then I came across your debate with Bill Nye, and thought you were mad, a "young earther" pfft, "let me watch Bill Nye destroy this guy", I spent an entire day watching your lessons, I could not stop and this was one of the first things that started me on a rock (which being the beginning is a darn good spot). I knew you wore the armor of God and understood, the second you start labeling what's a myth and what's not, of God's word, your foundation is doomed to collapse, which The Lord Jesus Christ has taught. Today I am shocked by how many actually go against a literal six day creation, knowing from my experience how dangerous that path is. Also I can say God has graced me with opening my heart to Jesus Christ and through him I can repent of my sins. The change in me is nothing I could ever have done myself, thank you guys and much love! ❤

Glad I read this, good to hear a wise and willing young man has come to his self and is a seeker of truth. It blesses my life each time I see the younger generation coming to the truth of the gospil of christ. Thank you brother stay strong and get the word into you as much as possible. It's an amazing , exciting, powerful. Living book. It's transforms one heart and mind by the Holy Spirit.
Only 3 ways God can communicate with a person. 1. The word. 2.the creation. 3. Our conscience. So you know if you seek you will find. 1= read the word. 2= the universe of matter was made for the universe of mind to enjoy. Hope you see God in all creation. It's him saying to us I love you. And last but not least. 3= prayer and awareness of him a close relationship by faith that he assures us by the blessings and joy in the Holy ghost he sheds abroad in our heart by his love and by this love we are born into. We know we are in him and he in us. It's tells us to draw near to him and he will draw near to us. He does, he does draw near when he knows we really want him and need his assuring presence and the Holy Spirit comes to comfort us. He comes when we let him know we need him , not just because we pray like hey grand PA! By grand parents! But he knows the difference when it's our hearts desire. Keep on the right path. Keep a joyful song on your heart to him. He will lift you up.. find Christian friends is a must. My prayers are for you fellow. So happy for you. I am a minister I am sorry about the long word salad. I just want to encourage as many as I can. Love helping..

Better not read the Sumerian tablets, which predate the Bible by thousands of years and contain stories, such as a great flood, from which the Bible story was derived. By the way, there is no historical evidence for the existence of Moses outside of the Bible, anywhere. The Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten is generally regarded as the first monotheist in history and defaced the images of previous gods in Egyptian hieroglyphs and carvings. He and his followers were run out of Egypt, but first he went to the Great Pyramid and took the power station, Arc of the Covenant, out of its granite container, before crossing the Sea of Reeds, not the Red Sea. So, whoever wrote the Bible distorted history by fabricating this whole story of the Jews being enslaved in Egypt, of which there is no record anywhere in the Egyptian records, and they recorded EVERYTHING.

What I found most interesting about Genesis 1 was that when Moses wrote about the time of creation, he knew about the Pangea, whereas it wasn’t recognised in geology until 1920.
Considering he had only seen the Nile, and a small stretch of the Red Sea, as far as water is concerned, I think that in itself is a wonderful God given moment of wisdom that he knew about what he wrote, at that time of his life.
I’m aware that there is some concern about the introduction of the Sun and the Moon on day 4, whereas it is generally recognised that the Sun was around long before the forming of Earth.
I suggest, that if there had been anyone around in those times, they would not have seen anything through the thick fog which he acknowledges was engulfing the planet from day 2.
The other wonderful fact that I find so confirming, is that the language of the writing of Genesis 1 can be literally translated into every tongue throughout the world today.
I like to start to find ways of finding common agreement with any point of discussion and work from that.
The most wonderful thing is that He did it, and it all starts the beautiful story of introducing Jesus to us, and every book throughout the Bible just adds to that.
He is coming soon, and everyday is a step closer to that wonderful realisation. Hallelujah 😍

I would never fault a person for asking questions about doctrine, especially something so big and described with such simple, short terms like how the world and universe was created. The thing is, precepts are built on precepts. It is often easier to understand on deeper levels when you have the basics firmly understood. There is a lifetime of learning about ourselves, our own personalities, our person struggles, our weaknesses. Getting caught up in certain topics that really don’t effect our journey to repentance wouldn’t seem to be a high priority. There is a reason God didn’t go into much detail on the how, he instructed prophets to teach about the why. And even to say, teach nothing but repentance, for it is the only thing keeping you through the gates of salvation. Happy Easter brothers and sisters:)

Before Adam committed the first sin all of the animals were herbivores. Not saying you’re wrong or I’m right I do not no. But it does say in the Bible to the Lord 1 day is 1000 years and 1000 years is a day. It could’ve taken God in actuality 6000 years to make the earth which makes sense because right now biblically speaking the earth is 6000 years which since the first man is born that would make us 12000 years
So he makes the earth in 6 days and he destroys the earth in 6 days also says in revelations that when the rapture happens we will be able to enjoy the Lords rest with him or 1000 years which is why Satan is imprisoned for 1000 years before he’s destroyed.

Many people think the word "yom" means the whole period of creation in Gen 2:4. I think it means ordinary day referring back to Gen 1:1,2. There was a creation day before the Almighty Creator said, "It will be light". There is creation day followed by creation week.

Personally, I've never heard anyone dispute the word "day" in Genesis as meaning anything but a 24-hour time span, but apparently it's a big enough issue elsewhere, as this video depicts. I just find it unusual that it's contentious to begin with, as the scripture is quite plain, as the context _is_ there.

Our 24 hours day, as well as our mornings and evenings, are set by the rotation of the Earth in relation to the Sun. Since Sun and Moon only appeared on the 4th day, what clock exactly do you use on the first morning? And on the next one? Then, time is not fixed, it depends on gravity, which depends on... And so on. Wanting to stick to a literal 24 hours day for events that completely escape our understanding of the laws of physics governing them, is a futile exercise. The REAL point, the one that IS actually important, is "In the beginning God created". Don't lose the forest while arguing about the perceived color of a leaf...

Good question Priscilla. Colossians c2 v9 states that in ‘Him (Christ) all the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily’. The God head being the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and it also asserts the deity of Jesus. 2 Corinthians c5 v19 states that ‘God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself’. I have looked in my concordance New King James Bible Bible and can find no reference to God man or God the Son, however, it is clear from scripture that God was in Christ and that God did become a man yet fully God in Christ. We obviously have to be careful not to read into anything that is not in scripture, but it is quite clear that the above references declare that God in the Son and also became a man. The word trinity’ is not stated in the Bible, yet we know that God exists as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One in three and three in one. Hope that answers your question?

The number 7 does have an astronomic origin, which recurs across many cultures. From a geocentric perspective (the common assumption until just a few hundred years ago) there are 7 heavenly bodies, visible to the naked eye, which move independently of the fixed stars: Sun and Moon, then Mercury Venus Mars Jupiter Saturn. They were associated with the major pagan gods, and the ancients named the days of the week for them.
The English names for the days are from the Germanic names for the Roman gods, hence Thor's Day instead of Jove's Day.

    • @CookiesRiot
      @CookiesRiot Рік тому

There are exactly 7 visible _[with the naked eye]_ bodies _[naturally occurring]_ in the sky _[which noticeably in a human lifetime move relative to distant stars]..._
...except when comets are visible, except when meteors fall through the atmosphere, except when planets are not visible because they are aligned with the sun or moon, except when the bodies are not visible because they're on the other side of the earth, except Saturn's rings.
This is just another way in which 7 is not just coincidental, but the coincidence is contrived by a barrage of caveats. People jump through hoops to assign significance to numbers, or to try to assign preferred small counting numbers where they literally don't apply.
The idea of creation happening in exactly 7 days already sounds suspiciously made up because of an obvious obsession with the number 7...
But to correlate it with astronomy is especially ironic. Astronomy has shown that the length of a day changes, that there aren't whole numbers of days in either a lunar month or a solar year, and that the approximate number days in neither a lunar month nor solar year are even divisible by 7.
The Hebrew people used to have essentially leap months to account for the difference between lunar and solar cycles, and that was still off by over an hour each decade.

What I don't understand is people who say they believe God created the world and universe but have a problem thinking he could do it in 6 days (He chose to do it in 6 days if He wanted He could have done it in 6 seconds) They want the Bible to line up with science's understanding when it doesn't have to. Now if you read further you find the sun was not created untill the 4th day. You don't need the sun and moon for there to be evening and morning. This we know from those who have been in the north pole that see 6 months of day and 6 months of night. But they still speak of evening and morning. Lots more can be said to help one see the truth found in the bible. Hope this helps..

The two creation narratives in Genesis differ in their emphasis, style, and details.
    1. Order of Creation:
    • In the first narrative (Genesis 1), the creation unfolds in a structured, six-day process. God creates light, sky, land, plants, celestial bodies, sea creatures, animals, and finally, humans (male and female) on the sixth day.
    • In the second narrative (Genesis 2), there’s a focus on the creation of humans. Man is formed from dust, and woman is created from the rib of the man. The order of creation is humans, then plants, and finally animals.
    2. Theology and Names of God:
    • The first narrative uses the term “Elohim” for God, emphasizing His power and transcendence.
    • The second narrative predominantly uses the term “Yahweh” (often translated as LORD), highlighting a more personal and relational aspect of God.
    3. Creation of Humans:
    • In Genesis 1, both male and female are created simultaneously on the sixth day.
    • In Genesis 2, Adam (man) is created first, and then Eve (woman) is created from Adam’s rib.
    4. Purpose of Creation:
    • Genesis 1 emphasizes God’s sovereignty over creation and humanity’s role in stewardship.
    • Genesis 2 focuses on the intimate relationship between God and humanity, highlighting companionship.
These differences have led scholars to interpret these narratives in various ways, from seeing them as complementary perspectives to representing different traditions woven together in the biblical text.

@@E_M_FEN Really - On what planet has man been to Earth's core. I really do wonder what passes for Science Ed these days. Back 50 years ago when I was in high school, we learnt in Geology how earthquakes sent seismic waves down through the Earth's core and geologists could, by picking up the differences in pickup locations, see a good picture of the Earth's interior structures. Sort of like WW2 sonar used to find submarines, but on the planetary scale. Today's pickup of these reflected and transmitted waves explains what these planetary metal rich bodies are like, and how they got there. Amazing how God works!
And then the dinosaurs - Most perished so many million years ago - I prefer to follow the teachings of Old Earth Creationists, who do include all of the discovered catastrophic events that God has used to shape our home. My issue with YEC crowd is that they look at one or two events in isolation, and not the full story as written in God's full geological and cosmological timeline.
Then, someone reminds me that when I eat chicken, I am eating a surviving disosaur species. Yes most dinosaurs did become extinct, however, there were a few of these mass dieoffs during the many millions of years they existed on Earth. Love to ask God one day why he put these creatures here, and why he had 3 goes at it. It can't be just so we could eat chicken. I get that God's understanding is way beyond ours.

"Whenever I am eating a chicken I am eating a dinosaur..." That presumes that 'genetically similar to' must mean "descended from" base on Darwin's theory of special (SPEE-see-uhl) differentiation. If all species had a common living ancestor we should expect this. But if they did not, assuming such a correlation is conjecture, not an experimental conclusion. How we look at the fossil record, and radiometric dating, and all the restvof forensic archaeology and palentology, rests on the basic premises we have about how life progressed and developed on the earth.
There is a fundamental qualitative difference between providing verification and providing proof.

God is the Primary instigator and focus of each day in Genesis 1. Contextually each day and its length surrounds God’s presence and His work-even after the sun, moon, and stars are created on day 4 to govern the day-night cycle. Here I will make my case:
Yom, when first described in the text, is defined by the amount of time light is focused on the earth in relation to God’s work. We know this because light is (1) spoken into existence by God, and (2) it comes from God. It is only when God is done speaking the light into being and defining what a day is from the night that God stops working and night falls in the earth. Why? Because He is done working for the day.
So the question is, how long did it take God to say, “Let there be light?” Have light come into being, and then define day from night? Did it take 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 12 hours, 24 hours, a year, millions of years? The text does not say, and it doesn’t actually have to give a time period, because the scientific definition of hours is not the focal point of the text. God and what He has done is.
The text then says there was evening and there was morning, one day. But is the statement concerning “one day” about the amount of time God spent working, or is it including the night too? There is a clue.
Genesis 2:1-2:3 tells us that on day 7 God rested, yet did you ever notice that day 7 does not end? There is no evening, and that is because God did not leave His rest, and the light emanating from Him remained too. Thus, that day has never and will never end as long as God does not depart from His rest-a rest we are hoping to enter into I might add. So contextually, a day is defined as the amount of time God is present. And this could be any length of time.
And if one wants to throw out this text based definition, why does a full day really need to be 24 hours, if you add the night? Do you not have faith that God can do work in seconds, days, or over the course of thousands or millions of years, as He sees fit? It is sad that we destroy each other over unwritten numbers-especially when we have scientific examples on earth that show us that a day-night cycle can be longer than 24 hours.
In Alaska, for example, there are seasons where light does not stop shining for months, and then when the sun does set it doesn’t rise for months. Does this mean that one day is 6 or 12 months long, if you add the night? For practicality’s sake, we say “no” because we don’t want to cause problems with our calendar, and how do you deal with the clocks? But if it takes 6 months for the sun to set on a portion of the earth before there is evening, and then we add 6 months of night, then in relationship to the text-regardless of how yom is defined-was this not one day in Alaska? Genesis 1 would imply it is, if we want to get literal.
Do not get me wrong here. This is not to say that God did not or could not create anything or everything in a 12 or 24 hour period. Of course He could and He may have, in accordance with His Will. Indeed, to say that is not possible would be wrong too. It’s just like saying that God could not take longer or shorter times to do His work as He desired, and, honestly, once the sun, moon and stars were established as governors it only makes sense that God would then use them as He designed them to be used, and He may have worked within such arbitrary time frames.
Still, none of us were there, and this is where we need to respectfully accept that not everyone has faith enough to accept specific scientific number attached to the term yom in Genesis 1, thousands of years after it was written. It’s okay to learn and grow and come to understand what God is trying to teach us over time.
Finally, once again, we need to remember the context of each day primarily revolves around God and His work-not the sun, stars, and moon-and that actually makes sense. Why? Because in ancient times the sun and moon were worshipped as gods in Egypt and to have life and creation focused on them would have theologically defeated the purpose of the text. The unfaithful Israelites who wanted to return to Egypt while being led from slavery would have swooned with idol worship if the text was not carefully to place God and His light first. This is just another reason not to be blinded by time when it comes to this text.
In conclusion, God is supposed to be the center focus of every moment and day of our lives-not the events of the day or how long it takes for a day to transpire. The Law is a testimony to that truth, and so is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who prayed and made God the Father as the center focus of His life and ministry. Let’s not let science dictate what we believe-especially when scientific numbers can change and it is clear that Genesis 1-2:3 is not meant to be a science textbook.

Perspective: Sarah gives Hagar to Abraham. The origin of the story is that Lilith, Adam's wife, gives Eve to Adam, the Christ, when he begins his work of the salvation of the kingdom of Eve's Shining One (snake) David, the Morning Star. I’m inclined to believe that David (Yahweh) is saving those behind the gates of hell. Those who have lost hope.
Light and vegetation are created before the sun and moon because the story is about the new heaven and new earth. Yahweh is the light and Adam, the Christ, is the lamp. Your creation story is when, in the beginning, Adam found you in a wasteland, (Gen 1:2 NABO), empty, and void of understanding, your having become corrupted by sin, and he shielded you as the apple of his eye. (Deu 32:10 NABO)
Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. (Mat 25:34 NABO) The earth was barren, with no shrub of the field and, as yet, no man to till the soil. Adam tilled the soil and prepared the Garden of Eden, a promised land, a heavenly home, a new heaven and new earth, according to the plan of his Father, and then he settled east of Eden and has tilled and cultivated the earth ever since. I am with you always, until the end of the age. (Mat 28:20 NAB)

Genesis 1:1 is not part of the 6 days.
The 6 days are about Jehovah preparing the earth made in the beginning for life.
Actually evening is when the night begins and morning is when the night ends so it's more accurate to say that evening and morning is a night. Evening and morning could be symbolic. The angels could be in the 'dark' as to what Jehovah was creating until the completion of his work on that "day"!
Incidentally God's creative rest day may end after the son hands the kingdom back to his father at the end of his 1000 year reign. (Hebrew's 4:6"Therefore, since it remains for some to enter into it")(1Corinthians 15:24 "Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father")

I totally believe in the Bible and the creation account in it.
I have a problem with accepting that creation days where 24 hours.
I believe the there is one day of creation that is still running in modern times. Of the first 6 days there is the statement “and the evening and the morning are” then the day number but nowhere is this used for the seventh day. Day seven started after the creation of Eve. Day seven hasn’t ended yet.
I believe there will be an infinite number of periods of time called “days” when day seven ends day 8 will start, the days 9,10,11…
At this time day seven is coming close to it’s end. Day seven is already more than 6000 years.
I believe that the one thousand years of Gods Kingdom rule is about to start. So it looks to me like day seven will be 7000 years because it may be that it will end after the one thousand years Kingdom period.
Day seven is a sacred day.
During day seven, the important issue of who rules will be settled.
I believe The answer will be God rules.
At the end of day seven it could be said, “ the evening and the morning where the seventh day”. Then day 8 will start.

How would you feel if the Bible opened with in the Beginning was a cloud of gases which superheated and drew down all matter into a tiny ball which exploded and spread throughout space for 13.8 billion years. If true, would such wording lead ancient men and the less intelligent to be more moral?
I don't know, but have no conflict with a God could create this universe in 6 God days and at the same time, that be 13.8 billion human days.
And I don't see the point of worrying over it. What difference to your soul.
There is an evil human reason I can see for fighting against science. If your desire is to control other humans by you having greater religious knowledge than them, then I can see where you wouldn't like science because it could interfere with your desire to rule over others in this world.

There was a literal 6 day creation in Genesis chapter 1 but this has to be considered with all the rest of scripture to understand what actually happened and age of the earth. We cannot ignore Jeremiah 4: 23-28 KJV that describes a pre man universal flood destruction of earth that left earth dead formless and void with the lights out in the universe. Also 2 Peter 3: 5-7 not describing Noah’s flood in which earth was still livable atmosphere with sunlight and an ark with people and animals that lived, but was an ancient universal flood destruction of earth and space the Jeremiah passage also described for which most of the church is still willingly ignorant of. Notice light and darkness separated day 1 and sun moon and stars not created till day 4. Notice seed already in the earth. Notice command to replenish. Isiah 45:18 God creates perfect, he does not create darkness. Isiah 14: 12-17 that Lucifer had a throne on the earth he wanted to ascend above height of the clouds, that is on this Earth pre adam. Satan already fallen before this 6 day creation because he was already evil in deceiving Eve. I could go on but space limited. In short earth is ancient, there was sin surrounding Lucifer fall, God was angry and destroyed the place but didn’t make a full end, and Genesis 1:2 picks up a restoration of earth and universe and marks it with a seventh day and puts man in charge where Lucifer use to rule. The Bible matches perfectly with science and archeology if we consider all it says and not an idea off one passage and ignoring the rest of what scripture says about it.

I believe that the "days" of Genesis 1 are not earth days, but they're days from God's perspective of time, from the beginning looking forward in time, God looks FORWARD whereas science looks BACKWARDS in time, which is how we know that the universe is 13.8 billion years old, if you notice, Genesis 1 keeps using the phrase "and God *SAW* that it was good", it is a consistent pattern throughout Genesis 1, which tells us that God is not only the creator in Genesis 1 but also the observer, in other words, Genesis 1 gives us God's perspective of His creation, including time itself, Psalm 90:4 states: "For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night." This verse reflects on the eternal nature of God and shows that God's perspective of time is vastly different from our earthly perspective of time, all time, space, matter and all the laws of physics began at the Big Bang and God exists beyond the Big Bang singularity, that is where God's dimension or "heaven" is, and in God's dimension, time passes much slower, and so from God's vantage point, all the events take place much rapidly, God is able to see creation's entire history in just 6 "literal" days, this corresponds to the concept of Time Dilation, in Einstein's theory of relativity.

"Sophisticated" Christians and Jews today keep trying to deny the plain meaning of the Bible, because they know that taking the Bible literally makes it look ridiculous. Taking the Bible literally makes it look like it was written by people who knew nothing about modern science, and educated people don't want to look stupid, so sophisticated Christians and Jews today say, "Oh, it was allegorical, it was never meant to be taken literally." Young earth and flood geology is not in the bible. It is a lack of wisdom about the ancient texts I.e. a lack of biblical scholarship and a neclect of making a right judgment of the earth and the universe which God demands from us...... 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1: 19-20......By faith we understand that the worlds were set in order at God's command, so that the visible has its origin in the invisible. Hebrews 11:3. Worlds can be translated also as the ages were put into order. God had long ages before Adam and Eve came on the scene and he put it into order little by little not by twinkling of the eye miracles as they say. That is nothing but chasing away potential believers who have some understanding and will never believe in a mature creation with an apparent age things that have never happened. But in a miraculous creation just 6000 yrears ago it would be so. And you are responsible to prevent them to come to Christ and get saved!

Those who refuse to accept the fact that God created this world for habitation in six literal days do so because they are in complete rebellion against Him and deny His ability to create with just the spoken word. They don't want to admit God is all powerful, and that they owe every second of their very life to Him. He sustains us and keeps our bodies breathing every moment until under normal circumstances so that we might turn to Him and live.
They also refuse to accept the fact that the rest of the universe existed BEFORE Adam & Eve were brought to life and walked this planet in Eden. God asked Job (in 38:5-8) where was he when He created the worlds, especially this one, when it was hung on nothingness & the morning stars [the angelic host] sang together, and all the sons of God [other Adam-like beings on other worlds] shouted for joy for all His marvelous works which He had done.

@@rizdekd3912 Each day of creation was specific. Just as Ken Ham said, God created things in the order He did for various reasons. One of which was for our understanding of Him to being a God of order and specificity. Certain aspects of geology and creatures required that other portions of creation to be in place. He could have just spoke everything into existence and POOF, it was all there, however, He wanted to show His providential loving, thoughtfulness in everything being established.
Our ecological system was spoken into existence just as all the creatures that flew, swam, and lived in the soil. When it came to mankind, He took great care to form every part of Adam (and Eve) with His hands, and breathed into their nostrils the breath of life; as a result, they became a living being/soul. Even though scripture doesn't define how Eve was brought into being, other than God using one of Adam's ribs, but for me, there's no doubt the process was similar to Adam's.

No actually we don't believe because there's absolutely no observable, testable, physical evidence to support the existence of any of the hundreds of gods. All (it, she or he) would have to do is show up and do something, but that won't happen, religion is mythology.

      @@toneloke7489 That is your opinion.
The day will come that will prove you wrong in thinking there is no God. So... who is the "we" who does not believe? *IF* you do not believe in God, you have no hope of a future, since God is the only one who can provide it. *IF* there is a God who made mankind, then you are merely a collection of enzymes with no purpose for living.
Evolution cannot produce such complex lifeforms as animals and humans. That requires a benevolent Being.
If you saw a magnificent pocket watch or a sports car, you would know there was a designer who put in many hours to come up with their design and perfect function. The same can be said about all of nature IF one is willing to see the proof within them. All of nature, and the Cosmos, testifies of the Creator God. It is only those like yourself who refuse truth and acknowledge Him.
Spiritually speaking: the many gods teaching actually refers to fallen angelic beings, which many worship as supreme God, as many rulers did in time's past including pagans & heathens. They worshipped what they did not know, and so these beings took advantage of their ignorance and exploited them. The one and true God never did that. Then there's also another application for the phrase "gods." It was also referred to as: administrators, rulers, judges.

If Genesis is to be literally interpreted, as Ken Ham wrongly believes, then the most obvious question would be this:
If God did not create the sun and the stars until day four, as he wrongly believes, then where did God get the light to separate the night and the day in order to create the literal mornings for days 1, 2, and 3.
Ken Ham’s faulty reasoning, which is void of Commonsense, reveals what can happen when someone is incapable of being able to understand when to interpret scripture either literally or figuratively.

You’re not thinking biblically. God himself was the light. Connect to Revelation 21:23 “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” Instead of saying Ken Ham lacks common sense, perhaps you can study scripture more deeply, when you come across something like this where it does not make sense. It’s quite clear to me that Genesis can be taken literally, and historically it has always been taken literally.

No. The problem is that you’re not trying to reason it all the way through.
If God is omnipresent, as widely believed, and the Bible says that God is light with no darkness at all-then it would be thoroughly impossible for us to have darkness.
Furthermore, if the light in question is God himself, as you obviously believe, then that means that God had to separate himself from himself-which is stupid.
Day four is figuratively for the creation of angels and demons,

Ken Ham truely respect you and your work, I disagree.
You said it, in context. No one ever assumes that Eve got pregnant 3 times and had three sons in a 24 hour period. Yet it says she had 3 sons after she ate the fruit. None of your arguments do you any good here.
Now let us look at Genesis, I am using Young's Literal Translation.
    Genesis 1:21
And God prepareth the great monsters, and every living creature that is creeping, which the waters have teemed with, after their kind, and every fowl with wing, after its kind, and God seeth that [it is] good.
    **************
Now notice the literal meaning is "Great Monsters" in other versions it says Whales. I think they had been scoffed at by people saying there are no such thing as dragons and so they chose their words wisely
On day Next day he clearly makes mammals.
So he makes dinosaurs one day and 24 hours later he makes mammals?
Why are you assuming that the Dinosours and mamels were made fully adult?
11 And God saith, `Let the earth yield tender grass, herb sowing seed, fruit-tree (whose seed [is] in itself) making fruit after its kind, on the earth:' and it is so.
Have you ever seen a plant come up in less than 24 hours. Again it makes no sense in context to assume that it is 24 hours.
Same with the oceans have you ever seen fully developed full grown fish come up in one day.
In context it does not make sense that it is 24 hours.
