I did this with a show where I accidentally saw a spoiler about a main character dying at the end so I never finished it bc therefore he is still alive 😌
@calling.moon.twelve YES!! When I heard my favorite show was going to k!ll my favorite character I stopped watching cold turkey. We watched obsessively for years so other people who we discussed the show with were astonished I dropped it. They assumed other storylines would tempt me to come back but nah. I never watched the episode. I'm not the least bit curious. I know what heartbreak feels like and I know the show will milk it for all it's worth. Why would I do that to myself?!? Hard. Pass.
LOVING this style of videos. I also resonate with graduating art school and then not making art for like 3 years. Crocheting as been a good outlet for me because it’s still creative but it’s so different from painting/drawing
I struggle to DNF books because a part of me feels so guilty that instead, I just won't start a book. I will go such long periods without reading out of fear of disliking a book and it's a habit I want to break. 😅This style of video with the random effects absolutely cracked me up, really kept me entranced. The camera following you around in the second half was honestly so fun, the swaying back and forth to see it move is so real. The orange trashcan being given the credit for helping TikTok KNOWING that he started everything makes my blood ✨boil ✨
Congrats on getting that much done! I currently have Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake soft DNF'ed just because I had the sudden feeling when listening to the audiobook I would get alot more out of it from buying my own copy and scribbling my thoughts all over it lol
Yes please to more of these kinds of videos! One soft DNF I have is hating the narration on an audiobook, and telling myself I’ll try reading it (although I rarely follow through lol). I’m also guilty of stopping a series because I don’t want it to end!!
I usually soft DNF cause the book is due back at the library and I have a terrible habit of never setting mine eyes upon it again 😭 I loved this vlog! Hope you stayed safe with the crazy weather
I so get the sift dnf for excitement. I feel the same way about celestial monsters omfg. Like the first was so good and such a mood, and i am so scared to get to the second that it makes me panicky 😆
Congrats on getting a camera!! I just placed a hold to listen to “the adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi,” it sounds amazing! Also lmaooo I also love returning a book early on Libby for the same reason 🤣💐
I’ve really enjoyed your TikTok content so I’m excited to watch you on here! lol I think I’m in denial about my soft DNFs because I don’t acknowledge that I’m not reading them even if I haven’t picked them up in months🙈
The flower thing is so real, I can only click it if I finished the book, it’s my reward, if I’m just returning the book after a dnf I don’t allow myself to click it 😂
I have been 40% into the vampire lestat for agesssss, it's actually crazy. coming up on a year with no updates, someone make me read!! loved this style video would absolutely be down for more
I’m such a soft DNF-er 😅. I consider a pause…..for forever 😂😂 but I have all the intentions to go back! (I also do it with TV and movies). On my pause shelf: I was a Teenage Slasher, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and Family Lore
Looove this vid!! My soft dnfs rn are The Poppy War and All About Love, u swear I want to read them but they’re so overwhelming because they’re so good and so much… I can’t ever get the motivation to finish them when it comes to me on Libby 😅
Please vlog all the time I love it 💛 I’ve soft DNFed like two ARCs, one because it was boring me and another because I didn’t like the font of the ebook lol I also soft DNFed the second book in the southern reach trilogy cause it just was NOT as good as Annihilation
This is exactly what I needed to motivate me to tackle my soft DNF list, also 6 books deep. The first up on the docket is Blood over Bright Haven by M L Wang. Really holding out hope that I like it more in the second half, but currently I have some pretty conflicting feelings.
My goal this year is to get through some soft dnfs too. I gotta restart Addie LaRue and the 3rd Mirror Visitor book. I started Amina Al-Sarafi too, and I've taken a bunch of mini breaks on that one too cuz I just want her crew to get out alive so bad!
Soft dnf’d Flowerheart by Catherine Bakewell only because I was forcing myself to read it due to books being due at the library and then finished those and not Flowerheart. Another one is can’t spell treason without tea I got 60% through but stopped bc I had other books I wanted to read a lot more, and then legends and lattes barely got through but I’d like to finish it. Lastly, most ardently, this will sound stupid, but because I don’t have the right highlighter and it’s like one you can only get in a pack of 6 other ones so is still haven’t bought it but would like too bc I was really enjoying it.
ARCHANGEL. It was first borrowed from a friend, and I read that series through HS and I can't confidently say that it's GOOD but I do remember being obsessed the series and that world. It gets.. weird. Would love to hear your thoughts on it when you finish it.
I have a very similar problem. I just dont want to say goodbye to it yet n so i have to force myself to grab that last book cuz i know ill love it. I finally a few months ago finished greywaren by maggie stiefvater and that was sitting on my shelf for a couple years cuz i wasnt ready to be finished with the series
the photobooth filters are sending me lmaoooo i usually inhale ali hazelwood but i should have dnfed Not In Love because it was such a slog and i ended up hating it 😢 would love to hear your thoughts. i agree that Love, Theoretically is her best!
i have books that i soft dnf'd in 2022, i finished a book last year and the storygraph told me i spent 1121 reading it, i am 'currently' reading 30 books
I got 45% into Someone You Can Build a Nest In in one night and thought, "Oh, I'm enjoying this, I better pause and not finish it too quickly" and now it's been 3 months and I can't make myself reopen it.
I've been about 40% through Funny Story by Emily Henry for over 6 months at this point, and now I fear that if I do choose to continue, which I would like to, I would have to reread the beginning. UUUGH. It was good from what I remember, I was just getting antsy and wanted to pick something else up cause I'm a slow reader with a short attention span. That leads to a lot of soft DNF's.
i either like it too much and am obsessive so i dont want it to end or its dragging and im not in the mood for another 80 pages of filler but i do want to reach the ending…. eventually
banger as usual grapie 🫡 currently from my soft dnf list im trying to finish immortal longings by chloe gong, i started it last november but life and other books got in the way. i also wasnt getting invested into the story and even now at almost 70% completion im still not feeling it. i know i should hard dnf but i am a stubborn ass bitch that wants to finish everything she starts lmaoo. i also have the many daughters of afong moy by jamie ford and things we lost to the water by eric nguyen to finish and i have no clue when im getting back to them. even tho i liked what i was reading, it was got pretty depressing and as an asian american there’s only so much i can read about my people suffering 😭 and i need to keep as much happiness as i can while trying to survive trump again loool
I DNF tv shows that I love. If I don't watch the last episode, then it hasn't actually ended. ✨I am very logical and sane✨
I do this too!!!! You are not alone lol
I did this with a show where I accidentally saw a spoiler about a main character dying at the end so I never finished it bc therefore he is still alive 😌
i do this with shows and video games too lmao

Same!!!!!
It’s so fun to see you shine on UA-cam and different sides of your creativity! But yeah I understand I also cannot like things in a chill way
LOVING this style of videos. I also resonate with graduating art school and then not making art for like 3 years. Crocheting as been a good outlet for me because it’s still creative but it’s so different from painting/drawing
loved this!! i’m a big fan of reading vlogs so this was a lot of fun!!
i would just like to say i’ve been loving your thumbnail game!!! they’re so good im clicking immediately every time!
Thank you!! It’s my favorite part of the uploading process :)
17:42 oh my god I’m just now learning that something happens when you click the flowers on Libby?? I’ve had that app for almost 2 years now lmao
I found out through social media too lol. It's so much fun!
You're SO RIGHT about ali hazelwood but like... I eat it up every single time. It's like comfort food at this point 😩
I struggle to DNF books because a part of me feels so guilty that instead, I just won't start a book. As a fellow Houston girlie, big on the “can folks in Houston stop liking what I like” lol the hold times are painful. 😩
Congrats on getting that much done! I currently have Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake soft DNF'ed just because I had the sudden feeling when listening to the audiobook I would get alot more out of it from buying my own copy and scribbling my thoughts all over it lol

We did! And had a snowball fight in the backyard before all the snow could melt :)
1:19 😂 We have a word for that "I love it so much I want to BITE it feeling" in Chamorro: ma’goddai
When you are ready-- I'm very excited for your thoughts on Little Rot. The audiobook is almost as good as the writing ❤❤❤
This is such a great idea for a video! Also made me look at all the books on my own 'on hold' shelf (my oldest one is from 2020 😅)
you making youtube videos is such a win for me personally
:)))))
I so get the sift dnf for excitement. I feel the same way about celestial monsters omfg. Like the first was so good and such a mood, and i am so scared to get to the second that it makes me panicky 😆
I had no idea you could do that flower thing on Libby! 😮
The third book in the cruel prince series was my favorite!!
Congrats on getting a camera!! I just placed a hold to listen to “the adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi,” it sounds amazing!
Also lmaooo I also love returning a book early on Libby for the same reason 🤣💐
The audiobook is amazingggggggg and the flower toss is always so satisfying 😌
I’ve really enjoyed your TikTok content so I’m excited to watch you on here! lol I think I’m in denial about my soft DNFs because I don’t acknowledge that I’m not reading them even if I haven’t picked them up in months🙈

Really loving your filming/editing style!! I'm glad you loved Amina, the audiobook is god tier. No idea when the next book in the series is coming :(
I hope you find/build the community you had on TikTok here or wherever. ❤
Omggggggg, I can’t wait for you to finish Amina! So. Good. But! I’m in the same place with Celestial Monsters. And The Will of the Many
I’m such a soft DNF-er 😅. I consider a pause…..for forever 😂😂 but I have all the intentions to go back! (I also do it with TV and movies). On my pause shelf: I was a Teenage Slasher, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and Family Lore

Been "reading" house of leaves for months now. Thank god for storygraphs's pause function
17:27 oh I loved Nothing to See Here! Definitely going to have to check out Now is Not the Time to Panic
i personally love the vlog content! my soft dnf rn is little woman, i picked it up around christmas time, and its not really the vibe anymore tbh
This is exactly what I needed to motivate me to tackle my soft DNF list, also 6 books deep.

watching this while i have the unmothers soft dnfed for three months is making me feel insane… i need to get back on that horse…
I have a very similar problem. I just dont want to say goodbye to it yet n so i have to force myself to grab that last book cuz i know ill love it. being on that live when it died was really.....something 😭
It was DEVASTATING!!! Literally a Thanos snap moment
i really felt seen with the intro. i do the same thing. i refuse to read the burning god because I do not want it to end.
i have books that i soft dnf'd in 2022, i finished a book last year and the storygraph told me i spent 1121 reading it, i am 'currently' reading 30 books
it’s okay grapie i have had a book on a soft dnf for like 3 years now lol
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Exactly
grapie what cdrama are you watching
I finished ‘You Are My Lover Friend’ (and loved it) and I’m a couple episodes in for ‘Only For Love’
I soft dnfed on earth we're briefly gorgeous and it looks at me every day telling me to finish it 😭😭
I LOVE that book. It’s so beautiful
@grapiedeltaco that's all ive heard abt it!! i liked what i read but i wasnt at a point to read it in that moment. i need to get back to it 😔
I think your utopia has a sentient object romance, is that why you bought it?
Does it???? Maybe my soul knew
BNF 2025!!!
WOOOOOOO
I’ve just started Celestial Monsters and omg you’re so real for that soft dnf
banger as usual grapie 🫡

My current soft DNFs are Pride and Platypus cause the length of it is STRESSING ME OUT and Mexican Gothic cause I do NOT want that book to end
Pride and Playypus took me forever to get through but it’s so silly and the fighting in the notes by those mystery characters helped move things along
