He helps men that most women wouldn’t give a second look at. Albert worked for a firm that Allegra is a big client at and he asked hitch to help him show that he can be the guy for her. Allegra is famous so for her to date a guy like that is like matching Catherine Zeta Jones with Mr. Bean which seemed impossible. But because Hitch gave him that advice he was able to get over the hump and be his normal self which she liked. In the movie, hitch was discovered to be the date doctor and due to bad information people assumed he was a guy who only helped men get women into bed to score when all he does is show women that they should break out of their own way to give guys like Albert a chance to make them happy.
The main message I felt that this movie gave was that it's far better to be yourself than to try and put on a facade for the purpose of getting others to like or notice you. Your true colors always win out.

The privileged and wealthy rarely look towards someone they consider below themselves when in the end, we're all human. If people looked inwards into someone's heart then maybe stories like these wouldn't be so fictional.
I love how this scene reveals how Hitch truly works: he’s not trying to change men in order to get with the women they love, he’s trying to make them confident. Allegra became attracted to Albert because of his mannerisms
Just for clarification, he IS trying to change them, but only in minor areas. That's the realization he's having here: He was trying to get Albert out of his dorky self, only to realize it's our quirks and idiosyncrasies that make people fall in love with us. It's Albert and Allegra both being so dorky and quirky that makes them perfect for each other, but it was his idiosyncrasies and flaws that he thought were responsible for the dissolution of his first love. Not saying you're wrong of course, but the whole "That worked for you?" line is THE realization that he was turning Albert away from his true self, and in turn pushing him farther away from his goal of snagging Allegra. It's lucky Albert's true self couldn't be kept down anyway, as he still danced like a dingus, was organically kind to Allegra as opposed to aloof, and was all around just a nice dude.
Funny how when Alegra comes looking for Albert at his office, Hitch is choking Albert. Albert comes looking for Alegra in the yacht, and Albert is choking Hitch. 😂😂😂😂

I have to say that it kind of bothers me that a lot of people who saw this film are commenting how Kevin James's character Albert called Will Smith's character Hitch out on his B.S. I really didn't see it that way. True… Albert was right to an extent when he called Hitch a coward for being too afraid to follow his own heart and love someone. However, I truly believe that Hitch wanted to help others find love and had good intentions in doing so. He was just so doubtful for himself that for the longest time he just gave up any hope of love and happiness.

he just fell in love with her. if you're desperate to love that one girl then you do foolish things..and mendezs character liked and also loved hitch earlier but she was way too cocky to admit it to herself. The only thing that I don't get about the movie is the very beginning and very end, when hitch says that the basic principals are that a woman doesnt wake up saying 'god I hope I don't get swept off my feet today' which is true and that they lie when the don't want to date you right.. and in the end he says basic principals: there are none. So basically I think that it just teaches you to love whoever you wanna love and in the end you'll hopefully get your love.
Sometimes you're good helping other people with they're purposes in life about love but sometimes you can't find love yourself and maybe you was hurt for love and that's why maybe just maybe you doing your job but also helping guys without opportunity get their love of theirs life.
Allegra and Albert have to be one of my favorite movie couples even though this is just a little rom com from the early 2000s. I like the fact in this scene that when Hitch asks her if she would have noticed Albert on her own, she realizes she wouldn’t have and then learns the stuff she liked most about Albert wasn’t some act or play. Makes both her and Albert likable individually as well as a couple.
As far as I could tell from what we saw in the movie, all Hitch gave guys was two things they might not have otherwise... an opportunity to get noticed, and the confidence to use that opportunity. That is usually the hardest part for us guys to get right. You and the girl could be soulmates, but if that initial connection is missed, none of it matters.

This scene wasn't bad, but I never really agreed with the underlying premise. Hitch gave Albert the nudge and the strategies he needed to start talking and interacting. The rest was just Allegra and Albert. It could have been written in light of that, which still could give Hitch the insight that he needed to lighten up and just be himself with Sara, changing very little about the parallel scene that followed this one.
People fail to realize that hitch's main job was to practice slap Albert a few times in this movie just so he can slap the shit out Chris rock at the Oscars

Dating coaches teach guys to get out of their own way because the overall premise of the movie is correct, that any guy has a chance of with any girl. We make up too many excuses, like I'm not hot enough, or rich enough, or tall enough or other stuff that ultimately doesn't matter. 90% of dating coach classes are about working on yourself, and teaching guys how to be confident and love who they are, while simultaneously improving themselves. 10% of it is actual process or technique. It's a waste of time to sit there stalking some girl for weeks at a time.
