Cael's team has won the NCAA's 9 out of 10 years, you know he is the real deal as a coach, to say he's not a great coach and will not have this team peaking and in the hunt for a championship in March is absurd. Glad to see AZ State getting this win at home, big for them and for the sport. P.S. didn't have 2 starters (Berge and Shakur) in the lineup and also missing recent loss of Teasdale. Some of them are definitely not looking great at the moment but they also have had some injuries and issues, but Cael will make corrections and they will improve as they normally do. Of course AZ fans wanted to see Zahid, why didn't Cael put someone out? who knows, but its his decision. I probably wouldn't have put Rashid out either for his first match of the year coming in from an injury as he isn't ready for that type of match yet. In my opinion he chose to FF to keep momentum on PS side and not have Zahid rev up the team and crowd. It didn't work out for him as Conel didn't win. I heard Cael isn't letting Conel throw in matches right now to work on his weaknesses on feet, to say this guy who took 3rd couple years ago beating Moore twice won't be ready for March will also be a mistake..... This win will help fill ASU stands for duals for the rest of the year, congrats as your boys came out to wrestle, especially Courtney, Kramer and Norfleet! If Anthony Valencia can get in Jordan Burroughs shape, he might have a shot at Hall and top 4....Its early, but its been a great start for NCAA wrestling so far......Good luck to all the Cali kids out there!
Conel has landed 0 takedowns in 5 matches. Cael simply got the recruits, any coach could have had this kind of success, getting the top wrestlers every year.
@@dansecurity9608 Not an argument. Any coach worth their salt could turn Bo and Nolf into champions. College athletics is all about recruiting, football works the same way.
Not going to be a popular opinion but Cassar seemed content to just get the W, there was a lack of urgency. He knew the situation his team was in, I expected more out of him.

This is the year that people aren’t going to fully credit some guys. A ton of top guys going for the real goal and taking a lot of strength out of some weight classes. The fact that pen state isn’t the team to beat right now and next year it’ll even be worse for them.
