Ohio State and Georgia have the best rosters and OSU has all their top talent pretty much returning and paired it with the best RB from the SEC, Freshman All American safety from Bama and a QB that lead KSU to Big 12 Championship the year before. Now he has better talent around him. This squad is primed to win it all

@@kelshotssIf it’s Will Howard he has shown he was good enough to lead a team to a power 5 conference championship with much less talent around him. If it’s Devin Brown he just has to be solid with the surrounding talent and both qb’s are mobile which adds another dimension to the offense. The defense will be at the very least one of the 3 best if not the best. OSU top to bottom has the best or 2nd best roster along with Georgia. What makes OSU’s roster the best are the returning talent that was projected to be 1st rounders last year to go along with the quality transfers, then add a top 4 recruiting class with the no 1 overall high school player and wr Jeremiah Smith to wr U. If you’re not a hater and not bias you would agree with that. Even If I was a fan of another team like Georgia I would say OSU probably has the best roster right now. The qb should be solid enough for the team to have a grea shot at the natty. Just because they lost to Michigan 3 straight years with 2 aided by cheating by the way doesnt meant that applies to this upcoming season. OSU should be ahead of Texas cause of the transfers, and returning talent, a better defense, and Chip Kelly taking over as OC. Texas has their returning qb and other players but they had key departures as well. With all of that being said Ohio State or Georgia should be no 1 while Texas can 3rd and Oregon 4th. Even though I dont even like preseason rankings.

You alluded to this but to use this model more accurately you would need to count the kids at each program that could have came out and been drafted but chose to come back. Then you would need to weight those players by some factor based on the round drafted; ie: 1st rd higher value than 6th rd picks.
Also since they had NFL talent returning, instead of leaving to the NFL, that should, somehow, be factored in. Now the model starts getting much more complicated. But who knows maybe there is something to this.

That’s not delusional, they very well could win the national title for the 1st time. They definitely should be a top 5 team, I say they can be 3 or 4 but I have Texas ahead of them at 3. So its not delusional but I dont think they do. They are the 2nd best team in the Big 18. Oregon might beat OSU at home, It’s a toss up but OSU’s defense will be extremely tough and that could be the difference but Oregon could win and I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised at all. I do think they rematch in the Big 18 championship game and OSU wins. In the playoffs I think they lose in the final 4. Oregon’s absolute ceiling for the entire season is undefeated but 1 loss is much more of a chance. Worse case is 3 losses.

Hilton is going to run in the 4.2s, and Nuss is going to light him up. Nuss is going to throw for 35+ TDs and will likely be a first rounders. 8 on offense alone. Perkins will be drafted. Savion Jones, Parish Shand, J. Gilbert, Swinson, sage Ryan, and zy Alexander have the potential to get drafted late as well. Football Science may be right the majority of the time but not always and the science was wrong last year with Ohio State having the most projected 1st rounders in which would lead to a national title. They were arguably close cause if they beat Michigan they would’ve beat Iowa and faced Bama, and OSU couldve beat them. OSU wouldve beat Washington more than likely. With the science for this particular year its not taking into account the amount of players deprting Michigan, a mostly new coaching staff, schedule, questions at quarterback and bringing in a new oline. Michigan does have some experience in the returnees but hasnt recruited at a top 10 level to replace those players. They do have key pieces returning on defense and added some tranfers recently. The injury to Rod at safety hurts big time and not to mention no Connor to help them throughout the season. All of that means Michigan is no shape to repeat. Ohio State has a much better shot due to the returning talent, quality transfers and coaches changes. Michigan is going to be on the borderline of making and not making the playoff.

Ohio State is going to beat Michigan at the very least by 10 points or more. Just because Michigan won 3 straight with 2 by the aid of cheating by the way doesnt mean now they will win every game now. Michigan lost all of those players to the draft and bring in a mostly new coaching staff. Michigan does have good amd key pieces returning on defense and will have one of the best defenses overall but they lost a lot of players in total. The injury to Rod at safety hurts big time. The majority of the oline has to be replaced and in total Michigan hasnt recruited at even a top 10 level to replace the 44 upperclassman. It takes at least recruiting at a top 10 level to have a chance at being consistently at a top level. Orji at qb most likely while athletic doesnt show to be much of a passer. They brought in some solid tranfers none are top players so we’ll see how that goes. Plus no Connor to aid with the season. Meanwhile OSU will be beyond fueled for revenge and at home with all of the returning talent that couldve went to the NFL. Brought in Chip Kelly and quality transfers, bring in a top 5 recruiting class with the top wr and overall player to wr u. Osu’s qb will be a mobile veteran and be at least be solid and the oline will be improved due to experience, they played good enough last year to beat Michigan. Osu will have the better offense, and probably better defense cause Osu has more players returning for a great defense and add Caleb Downs who has a year of experience to go along with Knowles 3rd year with Osu at D coordinator. Michigan will be worse than last year while OSU will be better than last year. Put all of that together and OSU will win and maybe by at the least 2 tds. Who hasnt shown to be much of a passer at all, have to replace the entire oline, not recruiting at a top 10 level, replace the vast majority of the coaching staff. They have some experience returning but they arent part of top 10 classes, the defense returns some key pieces but they lost a big piece in safety Moore to injury. The transfers coming in arent elite. Then Ohio State will be hungry to win cause Michigan had aid in cheating in 2 games. OSU barley lost at Michigan last year when Michigan was better while Osu last year will be worse than this year. OSU is at home. Osu has more returning players back from a team that almost beat a better Michigan team, add in the quality transfers including Downs to the best pass defense from last that returns everybody. The oline was good enough to beat Michigan last year and that same line will be better this year, add a proven and experienced mobile qb who has way more talent to work with. The probable best rb duo and one of the best wr cores. OSU’s experienced and talented dline against Michigan’s new oline. Osu’s defense will be the best in the nation against a regressed Michigan offense. Chip Kelly being an offensive mastermind as OC with the best talent. Knowles 3d year with the best experienced talent, Michigan has no Connor. All of that OsU draft talent that returned sort of like Michigan did last year and once again Michigan lost many players and coaches. Have to recruit at a top 10 level to continue success at a high level. All of that makes it very logical for an OSU win. This year is obviously different from years past. I think Ohio State will whip everyone in the B1G this year. I don't even think they'll have a close game. People are REALLY high on Oregon. But, I watched Deboer slap Lanning all over the field TWICE last year. I think Lanning is an up and coming good coach. Is he elite? He hasn't proven it as a coach. He recruits well, though. But, so does Ryan Day and how many titles has he won with that insane roster every year? From the SEC I honestly don't know. Georgia will be GOOD. Well they be great? Texas will be good. Will they be great? And what is Alabama going to look like under Deboer? Is this going to be a power house team or an underperformer? They have the talent to beat anyone. But, so do the other 4 schools I just mentioned.

Which one of those 4 SEC coaches is proven and consistent? UGA. They have the least amount of questions and the least holes to plug in vital positions allowing them to polish their system instead of coaching players up to it.
Mizzou and Ol Miss are going to be the sneaky ones in the SEC this year just wait.
IMO Oregon is going to turn some heads this season in the Big10. I think they beat Michigan and go on undefeated playing Ohio and losing in the conference championship. Day doesn’t know how to rotate out players during the game and will do his usual, play all my talent against a bunch of nobodies to run up the score and give everyone the appearance they are good, yet go untested all season long.

They got a gift of a schedule. It is widely considered the conference's easiest schedule. Alabama will have significantly more talent, but 1st year coaching staff. A&M has a new staff. You guys get Oklahoma at home. Even with all of the talent lost to the draft, it sets up really well to hide some potential flaws. With this schedule, less than 9 wins would be a bust. 10 wins is doable with some good bounces. 10 might get them to the playoff, but then I think reality would set in. it would still be a heck of an accomplishment for Drink. The real test will be how he handles 2025 when Cook, Burden, and potentially 1 or both coordinators leave for HC gigs (you have to imagine they'll start getting lots of interest with potential back-to-back 10 win seasons).

From the guy that picked against michigan all last season. No way he picks anyone other than georgia or bama.
Michigan had the best defense in the country last year, and i think it might be even better this year. If they can get good QB play, they can compete with anyone in the country.
This is an offense that doesn't ask too much from their QB, unlike ohio which needs a top 3 guy to be even moderately successful (see cj stroud) even with all those shiny receivers. A michigan qb just needs to be accurate on intermediate routes especially out of play action, extend plays with their legs, and convert on third downs. A clutch play here and there is also helpful. But he won't need to throw it 50 times a game, or constsntly air it out downfield, or be expected (or need to) consistently put up 400 yard games.
On a side note, michigan could win the natty again this year and ohio will still be saying it was all because of stallions. I say keep it going, at this point, watching them make fools of themselves is highly entertaining

    • @Dave-854
      @Dave-854 14 днів тому +1

@scottd1903 interesting take on Ohio State needing a top three QB to be “moderately good”. The crazy thing is, since 2000 what program has been overall as dominant as Ohio State? Bama is the only one in the same tier. In that time span, OSU has only had 2 top QBs. Stroud and Haskins. And really, those two guys only played for a combined total of three years…

@@scottd1903 can you name them? We can throw Justin Fields into that category if you want.. but after that, nobody has been a top QB prospect. OSU has played in 5 national championships since 2000 and the QBs have been Craig Krenzel, Troy Smith, Todd Boeckman, JT Barrett/Cardale Jones and Justin Fields. Only Justin Fields went on to be a top pick.
I would also like to add in that obviously having a top QB is essential to winning championships. Michigan had their first top QB with McCarthey and look how well they did. I can’t think of a recent championship team that didn’t have a good QB.

    1. It had a bunch of grown ass COVID super seniors.
    2. Cheating. Yes, it helped. JJ admitted as much. Quit crying that it didn't matter...
    3. It played one of the worst Saban teams ever. Also played mid OSU and PSU teams.
    4. One of the easiest schedules ever. Almost worst than Georgia's.
    5. They play in an easy ass conference. Imagine having to beat Iowa for a conference title and then bragging about being Big10 Champions 😂 every year.
    6. Lucky UGA had injuries and weren't in the playoffs. We all know it's true. A 100% fully healthy UGA vs 100% healthy Michigan woukd favor UGA.
All of those came together to create the perfect conditions for an unlikely Michigan chip. That shit is NOT going to happen again.

Not sure why everyone has UGA #1 this year. OSU is clearly better, and Oregon is better than Texas. Also the Washington demise will be interesting. Hopefully we’re out of the Cincy-TCU-Washington era and only real contenders will make the semifinals.

The only thing Oregon is better at than Texas is losing to Washington.

No. It's more fun when soneone else is mixed in and no just the same 5 or 6 teams that are always there.

Except Oregon lost by less points each of the last 2 years. And they looked better. I bet Iowa’s QB would torch Texa$$ secondary 🤣
