You will probably notice that not everything on Carenado's version of the Citation S550 has real world accuracy. Sometimes you will have to improvise to make the jet do what you want. Since Carenado doesn't provide a wealth of documentation, there is a lot of trial and error involved in figuring out what works and what doesn't. Overall they did a great job with the visual model and a fair job with the systems and avionics. Thanks again for chiming in and subscribing to the channel. I have been keeping an eye open for years for a "PMDG level" business jet, and for whatever reason, none have really risen to that level,,,, yet. Maybe someday, someone like Majestic, PMDG, Flight1, or Eaglesoft will take on an in-depth version of one of these sweet jets. I will say, I have enjoyed flying all of the jets in this series,, but like most simmers, I want everything on the jet to operate by the book. I think Flight1 and Eaglesoft models come the closest, however, it's time for them (in my humble opinion) to release an updated model. I am so happy to see you in the Citation II. I purchased this plane a few days ago and I am trying to learn to fly it. I have been waiting for your UA-cams. Your presentation is so very good. I am pretty new to jets but so far I really like this one. I have not trained on the FMS so I installed the Reality RXP 530 GPS that I use in most of my planes. I made two long flights today and it worked very well. This plane really lands good with the Spoilers and Reversers. Will be waiting for the next video. Cheers, Chas

Carenado just released a Navigraph updateable navigation database add-on for the S550. That will give the FMS much more versatility and should remove a lot of pilot work load flying SIDs, STARS, and approaches. HI Neal, I use pre-recorded ATC chatter from LiveATC.net. Most major airports in the USA have a feed you can listen to online. They also have archives you can download from specific dates. I work as a real world Citation V driver and I have over 450 hours in the S/II. It is a really nice plane to fly. I love your videos on here by the way. I do have a couple of questions for you regarding your videos. 1. How do you setup the simulation with the cockpit/aircraft cold and dark? 2. Do you feel that Carenado will come out with further business aircraft such as the Beechjet 400A, Gulfstream G150, or the Cessna CJ line of aircraft? Hope to hear from you soon. +anjinsan I usually fly the Citation Mustang and the CJ3 Plus. The way we set our pressurization is we enter our departure airport elevation and the arrival airport elevation into our FMC. It automatically sets our pressurization. Does this make sense? As for the older Citations you dial up the cabin pressure control knob 1000 over planned cruise alt. Upon landing, you always normalize your cabin pressure.
Thank you Julian, I have flown on VATSIM in the past (and spent some time as a VATSIM Controller at Atlanta Hartsfield KATL). It has been probably ten years since I tried a VATSIM flight. I had limited success and a fair amount of frustration with that network of controllers. To be fair, it could have been as much my fault for flying at weird times when facilities weren't well staffed. I flew a great flight from Atlanta to Chicago Ohare one evening only to have the Tower Controller sign off on my final approach (past his bedtime?). I have not tried PilotEdge yet, however, I am very impressed with the professionalism of the obviously professional controllers. I have seen another Flight Sim UA-cam video demonstrating PilotEdge. As far as I could tell, it was limited to the California area and had a limited amount of traffic. Again, that could have been due to the time of the flight. In a perfect world, I would like to fly in an Sim ATC environment that is reasonably realistic. That means a busy experienced controllers handling lots of airplanes. Great instructional video! How did you smoothly transition around the panel in the video? My hat switch and keyboard arrows jump around as if from frame to frame, and I have a new, very capable computer; I cannot move smoothly between switches and levers as you did. Also, what display settings were you using in FSX? I don't have as clear and crisp an image as in your video, and I am using a new NVidia 1070 processor.
Hi Aero Crafters, I use EZdok to move around the cockpit. I have a tutorial video on the FS MaNiA Channel that shows how to set up the various views and move around the cockpit. For the FSX settings and tweaks, I recommend checking AVSIM User Forums. There is a forum that provides detailed step by step tweaks for FSX settings and configurations that provide the best graphics. My GPU is a NVidia GTX 780. I should probably upgrade sometime but FSX is a mostly a CPU hog. I have already decided to do a follow up video with the S550 with the new Navigraph database feature. We will see if we can fly a respectable SID or STAR coupled with the autopilot. You don't need to go to the 2d panel to change between the Arc and Norm mode on the HSI, go down on the bottom of the gauge on the VC and switch between the "HSI" button and the "MAP" button (under the "- +" switch) in the HSI VC 3D gauge.
FS MaNiA Haha!, I hate the 2d panels, may I ask you a favor? can you confirm me that you can switch it from the VC 3d gauge, without the 2d popup clickspot? because a pilot fríend of mine can't do it and is getting crazy, think he is switching on the wrong área.
Raul Aubele Hello Raul, I loaded up the S550 this morning and tried the MAP/GFX click spot (below the "- +" switch. That did not switch the unit into the "Arch Mode". It brings up a dialogue window that allows you to toggle on/off "TCAS, WX, TERR, NAVAIDS, and AIRPORTS". So it seems like the 2D method of switching from 360 to Arch mode is still the only apparent method? Hope this helps. Let me know if you come up with any other ideas. i have the "Carenado Cessna S550 Citation II HD" for steam fsx. great plane no question but the "performance" is pretty worse to put it mildly. what the hell do i need a beautiful 4096 VC for if i onlyget 30 fps out of it?!?

Hi FGM11, I don't think there is a lower res cockpit for the S550. I do know Carenado has produced a "lite" version of their 850XP Hawker. I think they must have received a lot of complaints about frame rates on the S550 and the "lite" Hawker is their attempt to resolve that issue. I will suggest checking in the Avsim forums for help with Carenado issues (if they aren't responsive). There is an "unofficial" Carendo support forum for all of Carenado's aircraft. Marpoclaws I don't have the C172RG Cutlass in my hanger. I do know Carenado/Alabeo offers a recent version of the Cutlass. I have several other Carenado and Alabeo single engine retractable gear aircraft. This is an area where Carenado and Alabeo has done (in my opinion) a good job of modeling aircraft. The only other option to get a more detailed model would be RealAir or A2A. I don't think either of them offer the C172RG? In my opinion, it would be a good investment at $22.95 USD for the Carenado/Alabeo version. Keep in mind, Carenado typically only includes basic checklist, performance figures, and minimum user guides for their aircraft. I usually do a bit of research on AVSIM forums and Google to learn the finer points of flying Carenado's aircraft. There may be a future video on my channel featuring the Cessna C172RG, however, don't wait on me if you really want this airplane. I have a lot of airplanes in my hanger that are collecting dust and I really need to fly them first. It could be a while before I pull the trigger on the Cutlass video. Hope this helps! I see that you can move left to right, right to left without panning. Is the answer in your joystick or something in settings?
Using the arrow keys on the key board for a tracking left and right motion with EZDok as my camera system.

9,000 ft cabin pressure is a way to high for FL320 More like 5,00010,000 is the max cabin alt for the S550 and that’s at FL430

I think they must have received a lot of complaints about frame rates on the S550 and the "lite" Hawker is their attempt to resolve that issue. I will suggest checking in the Avsim forums for help with Carenado issues (if they aren't responsive). There is an "unofficial" Carendo support forum for all of Carenado's aircraft. Can you please get the C172RD Cutlass II because I want it but don't know whether it is worth the money (or do a video on it if you have it)
Marpoclaws I don't have the C172RG Cutlass in my hanger. I do know Carenado/Alabeo offers a recent version of the Cutlass. I have several other Carenado and Alabeo single engine retractable gear aircraft. This is an area where Carenado and Alabeo has done (in my opinion) a good job of modeling aircraft. The only other option to get a more detailed model would be RealAir or A2A. I don't think either of them offer the C172RG? In my opinion, it would be a good investment at $22.95 USD for the Carenado/Alabeo version. Keep in mind, Carenado typically only includes basic checklist, performance figures, and minimum user guides for their aircraft. I usually do a bit of research on AVSIM forums and Google to learn the finer points of flying Carenado's aircraft. There may be a future video on my channel featuring the Cessna C172RG, however, don't wait on me if you really want this airplane. I have a lot of airplanes in my hanger that are collecting dust and I really need to fly them first. It could be a while before I pull the trigger on the Cutlass video. Hope this helps!
