Both good vehicles - if configured right with the right tyres. Main thing you need for off road is is reliability, a good winch and ground anchor system. Reliability is much better on any Toyota - that the reason for their global domination outside of the USA.

My 1999 Jeep Cherokee Xj has almost 400,000 miles and is just like new...A Toyota would already need 4 timing belts and water pumps. It is not a 4.0...hahahaha
@@bobquattrini1787 wrong...my 96 4 runner has 396 k miles n 1 timing belt. All original parts except suspension maintenance like bushings struts n shocks. Everything including electrical systems motors transmission, axles r original. Your jeep was built well back then but those nee jeeps suck including motor transmission n axles. Toyota is still building rock solid vehicles because they have never been purchased by a subpar company. My 07 4 runner has 300k miles, my 09 tundra has 200k miles n non of them have any issues. Upgrade your jeep to a new 1 n see what happens
@@bobquattrini1787 FJ's are 4.0's Its a V6 your Jeep 4.0 is a straight/inline 6. Jeep is notorious for water pump issues not toyota. Also they have timing chains not belts. Read up before you post acting like you know anything.

I've had a cj 5 and now have an FJ. The Cj 5 was a blast but not reliable. Broke down a lot. I love the Fj too. I'm not goimg where any of them can't go.

Stock vs stock Jeep wins and hands down and upgrades if you spend same amount of money on Jeep as you would fj the Jeep will be unstoppable.remeber this Jeep has solid axle fj doesn't so when you try to bump hop on a rock to hard with that much power while climbing in your line I think we all know what happens. Dude, the Jeep is stock. This FJ channel is just obviously biased. That one test on the grassy hill too, where you gave the FJ Cruiser a point, come on. The Jeep driver barely tried and the FJ went up a different side of that hill, not the same track. There’s definitely more money in the FJ than the JK. Jeep ALWAYS wins. why do they keep gunning the engines? and its obvious watching the front wheels that the fj is in 4wd H . drivers of both vehicles just dum. can't power through that small mound. finesse and low end torque wins the day but they don't know how to do it properly tires are not aired down and the tires not being used to full potential. they will snap a rear axle one day.

And the Jeep has front and rear lockers, and an electronic disconnecting sway bar, and it has solid axels, and better visibility, and they still make them....but that is still a nice fj. Looks like they both had a lot of fun, and are some good drivers (I thought that fj was going over, nice save)!
