Great question at the end. I believe experiential learning is not just about learning physical skills. Academic endeavors are perfect for problem-solving, trial-and-error, reflection, learning from mistakes, and discovery. That's what experiential learning is all about!!!
I belelieve that practice, reflection, understanding, and repetition are essential steps to have in mind for all the learning that human beings want to acquire.
Experience is a best learning. We started learning when we were a child , learning to talk, learning to walk and anything we do. We reflect to our failure doings and encourage to do it correctly next time. We always learn what we experienced.
Experience is the best teacher, you will learn more from things that happen to you in real life than you will from hearing about or studying things that happen to other people. For me, experiential learning is a powerful form of learning. One of the most important tasks of developing training with most beneficial results is to ensure that learners retain the necessary knowledge and skills they will need to succeed. Experiential Learning allows learners to learn hands on by trying the skills they are being taught in real life scenarios.
Through experience, we can learn a lot of things. If we evaluate thoroughly the experiences we had, it helps us to determine what to do next time- either we will do it again or not. We can learn from our experiences through reflecting of what we've done in order for us to know better.
Nothing beats the learning from experience. Human instincts made it possible that in every experience we had, the more knowledge we can gain. Experiential learning is defined to be as an engaged learning process whereby students “learn by doing” and by reflecting on the experience. Experiential learning activities can include, but are not limited to, hands-on laboratory experiments, internships, practicums, field exercises, study abroad, undergraduate research and studio performances. So, it is very important for teachers to apply the principles of experiential learning in their teaching.
They said, experiences is the best teacher. And I totally agree with it. We learned something based on our experiences in life, it helps us to make a better version of ourselves. Doing or hands-on is the best kind of learning.
Experiential learning is the most effective way of learning. A legit technique that emphasizes how experiences, including analytical, environmental factors and emotions, influence the child's learning process. Moreoever, a child learned more when he is actually doing or experiencing it. It is rather best to say that experience is a great teacher.
Experience makes us to try new something to gain knowledge and answer our queries in life. With this experential learning helps the child to develop their mental, social, physical and emotional aspect since they can realized and reflect what have they do and/or try.
Learning by doing as well as experience is the best teacher is the evident of education. A progress can be tracked when it is applied and so do as being experienced. Most of the times our lifestyle deals any queries and those challenges we met we take those as lesson, we learn and we develop.
Experiental learning is exactly what the name implies, learning from experience. It is learner - centered and allows the learner to manage and share responsibility for learning with others.
Experiential learning is the idea that experiences are generated through our ongoing interactions and engagement. It considers the role that all of our experiences play in our learning. Through Experiential Learning we can learn new skills to become better. First, get yourself into situation experience, after reflect on what happen, then try to understand to form an abstract concept, last decide what to do next time then do it again.
Experiential learning theory is the process of learning which we can learn from our own experiences. Experience's plays an important role in our lives because it teach us a great lesson that are worth to treasure and it also give knowledge as well that can be utilized in dealing challenges.
I agree with the concept of learning by doing. Because it is actual logic being into our body that learning something makes a map between learning and unlearning, then when you start doing the map, create the road to understanding better. 😊
The natural and most powerful way of learning is through experience also called as experiential learning theory. Experiential learning theory is a learning process initiated by a concrete experience, which demands reflection, review and perspective-taking about the experience; then abstract thinking to reach conclusions and conceptualize the meaning of the experience; leading to a decision to act, engaging in active experimentation or trying out what you’ve learned. The six prepositions of ELT 1. Learning outcome is not an endpoint but simply a resting point of a learning process. 2. As we learn new ideas we modify/dispose the old ones. 3. Effective learners are capable of balancing the opposing modes in the learning cycle. 4. Learning never ends. 5. When the learner and the environment interact both are change. 6. Every field requires unique skills and the special learning process.
Kolbian cycle = experiential learning. This is the system/approach our college taught us. Fast forward after college or in the real world, the approach is still very essential.
Experiential learning is the most effective technique for us to learn more effectively. Experiencing what we wanted to learn gave us the opportunity to learn and reflect on it. Students, for example, can learn mathematics more successfully if they do it. Overall, experiential learning is when we learn in a natural way so that we may develop skills, knowledge, and a better understanding of ourselves as learners.
Experimental Learning can also be use in schools, higher education, therapy, corporate training and other areas for educational learning, personal development and skills building. It influencing both feelings and emotions as well as enhancing knowledge and skills. It goes beyond classroom learning and ensures that there is high level of retention, thereby delivering exceptional RoI over a traditional learning program.
Experimenting is an excellent source of learning through Practice; reflection, understanding, and repetition are the elements to help the learning to the experience.
Experential Learning is the most natural and powerful form of learning which is based on experience . Through learning by doing you can learn a new skill or to become better. In experential learning the students engage learning process whereby students learn by doing and by reflecting on the experience.
I have students reflect on their thinking throughout a lesson and the school year. Quizzes and tests may be attempted again after the student reflects and reviews.
" The most natural and powerful form of learning is through experience or more precisely through reflection of doing" . We have different of experience, but through learning experience we can share our thought and feeling that we experience of that situation/s. By doing reflection of our experiences is that we can realize that we can learn in our own work and learn from our own mistake.
For the entirety of human history we learnt by doing. It’s only when schools showed up that textbooks where introduced as the primary means for learning. And now if you read a lot of books your considered smart. Text book knowledge is shallow and forms less than 10% of connections in the brain compared to experiencing. If you want to learn anything from programming to math to cooking you need to turn it into an experience not just read about it.
Experiential learning seems to be very effective however, very expensise - in this process the learners understand at the expense of the time consumed. This may be a humongous loss for a learner to move up in his / her profession. - best regards Mandar Sutar
What is your take on the extra resources needed for experiential learning to occur? I mean like for repeating actions, it takes time. For repeating creating something, it increases cost. In curriculum that's constraint by specific duration and time, plus depending on institutions, learning material like lab substances and tools may be limited. Time and cost constrains to apply experiential learning effectively in curriculum may be jeopardise. Please anyone could help me counter this argument. I'm trying to convince my colleagues on practicing experiential learning.
this video is not inclusive for disabled people who never learn to walk, could you change the narration to say something like move around? its when it says "we all eventually succeed" or something which jarred

At 2:20, the book the chef is reading says "receipts," not "recipes."
From experience, we formulate a new concept that needs academic knowledge to drive a more significant experience.
