I think its endearing that the Chase Bliss guy gets out in front of his stutter. "This is how I speak, I need you to know that now so I can move past it."
@@gryphon37 he’s plugged into a prototype glitch pedal. Friendly jokes aside, it was cool how he approached his stutter, got it out of the way so he felt comfortable and the audience are clear about what going on. This is a thing, lets move on to the subject matter at hand.
The first one of his demos that I saw him explaining something on while stuttering, it made me a little more chill about my own speech impediment. The dude just owns it. Very cool.
@@skatertrev7you can barely make out anything that's going on with the harp and if I was sitting there trying to come up with interview answers and had some FX driven harp in my ear the entire time I'd get pretty angry if not distracted...
For real, assuming the episodes haven't been the same cause of workload and all, but it' cooler when at least Nick is in the episodes, if not Nick+a bassist!
I've had some interactions with the folks at Chase Bliss and they all just seem like such amazing people doing wonderful things in the MN community in general. Good people just wanting to make cool great innovative pedals working in community with other great pedal makers. I love that ethos. And I might have been one of the first people to buy this pedal. Can't wait to get it in October for an off-Broadway climate musical I've done deep guitar soundscaping for. Can't wait to work it in!
Regarding artists, or any entertainment enterprise for that matter... I really feel like they are missing big revenue streams by not selling cast off equipment at a reasonable price. Take Formula 1 teams for example... If the team with the least money would sell pieces of the crashed components for reasonable prices, the fans would snap it up. If a popular graphic artist had some sketches laying around and sold em for impulse buy prices it'd be a great stream.
I honestly wouldn’t mind if Josh just does an entire new show of builder interviews in this format. I’m so used to your guests being somewhat blurry zoom calls or prerecorded snippets. This is great.
I've had the pleasure of dining with Joel and Steve together several times (with Fairfield folks joining in as well). That's one fun meal! The two guys are sweet enough that no dessert is required. If you have a stereo delay pedal, with dual ins and outs, plus reverse delay, try this experiment. I've done it with my Line 6 Echo Park and it's loads of fun. Select reverse delay, and set it for 100% wet, and a medium delay time, with whatever degree of feedback makes you happy. Plug into channel A and take A's output and feed it to B's input. Several interesting things will happen. First, because so many users of "stereo" pedals will generally plug into only one input, the system will likely provide processed signal to BOTH outputs. So some of what A does will show up at B's output. Second, when you use reverse delay once, and then again, you re-reverse, albeit with several A-D-A encoding/decoding transitions, so repeats come out "forwards". Because of this, and because there is both delay and feedback, B's final output will contain reversed copies of the input (coming from what you plugged into A being shared by both outputs) as well as re-reversed (forward) copies, staggered in many different ways. It's not nearly as complex as what Reverse Mode C does in either the CBA pedal or Superdelay, but it's gobs o' fun. Heck, you can even run A's output through another pedal before feeding it to B's input, so that the various backward and forward repeats are processed differently. (Now that you got me thinking about it, I have to stick my Micro-POG between A and B and experiment)
Joel mentioned that the reception for the Mood II didn't land with the enthusiasm they thought it would. That's a bummer to hear, because I've been a long time Chase Bliss admirer, but from afar because I really wanted to see their pedals in stereo. I pre-ordered the Reverse Mode C and will likely snag the Mood II next!
When he mentioned how they were close, and they "had a dog between them", I thought he was saying that they shared joint custody of a dog... Dang, they ARE close😂 ... Then I saw the dog between them. 😂
This was Cool, to Bring in the team who made such a great pedal and as Emily said Josh You must not get your Coffee ☕ at the one down the Street?,🤨 But always wondered what it would sound like jamming on Guitar With Emily 🌸, Hard One to Do but in the End U were Getting There, I give you Props for Trying I think I would be Lost🫣 but I'd Have to Try 2 👍, Next Time, Enjoyed TY all 🎸🤘🤠
The Bonsai is really no mystery, the TS is a famous, useful circuit and the idea that you get ALL of them in one case, the history of the circuit in one case, one purchase-- even if you're not a TS junkie you almost can't pass that up. Plus, it is cleverly presented and has the coolest of all your graphics ideas. But yes, The Crayon is INFINITELY cooler, why I have both...
I'm torn between thinking it's too expensive and thinking it's priced reasonably considering I'll be able to sell it at more or less the same price if I don't use it. (I'll be eating my Kraft dinner while pondering this question)
Thats how I justify the hobby of synths and pedals and eurorack... I can easily afford it on the front end. Buy smart, take care of your gear, and if you ever need to liquify it you'll easily get 90% of your money back out of it.
@@BobbyGeneric145 Right. Any piece of gear I want, I research extensively for about a week to make sure I’m getting the best price possible, then I make an offer. I usually can make a few bucks if I ever sell something.
I really like Emily, and the harp playing feels like a cool idea. But when you make an interview on Zoom, with 3 people, the background music doesn't help if you want to really listen to what the pedal makers are saying.
I like Chase Bliss because of how they've expanded what's capable with analog circuits. You don't need all these individual pedals for digital effects. A good multi effects "pedal" that you can program makes more sense. Like a TC Electronics "Plethora" or one of Line 6's units.
Well, I guess Nick got electrocuted and accidentally transferred his consciousness into that drum machine. Would explain why he’s been MIA. EDIT: NM, he showed up at the end…unless that’s AI Nick…
Hahahahahaha! Hearing Josh go on about product availability and unexpected amounts of orders.... hahahhaa. Poor, poor, future Notaklön making Josh... He has no idea what's about to happen
25 min into this video waiting for someone to talk about the f***ing pedal and not the power of friendship and the history of their companies and relationships or whatever is going on here. Cool video but kind of a bait.
Love these brands but you are essentially paying $600 for something a plug-in can do. Obviously it’s a niche market but those prices are insane for what amounts to printable circuit boards.
you don't really know how the market works, huh? make it 200$ and you'll need to produce x100 more which means x100 more employees to make it in the same time for less profits etc. Now is the moment of realization that either you can afford it, or not. Every digital hardware can be replaced with plugin, obviously. If you don't have any gear, what are you doing here? If you do, why?
An Olympic-standard bicycle costs about $80K. I don't know why bedroom guitarists insist that every audio device has to be tailored to their budget ... isn't it okay to just say Chase Bliss is for the people who can afford it?
I wish they would stop designing pedals for guitarists that love to sniff their own farts. Make some more actual useful pedals like Brothers, Condor & Automatone.
@@jhspedals Oh cmon, you know the type of guitarist I mean...the ones that want to hit 3 notes to make 10 minutes of music, which is what pedals like this and Mood do. Kind of love this format. Interview with the inventor(s) of a pedal, then Emily just playing off to the side showcasing the sounds of that pedal.
Mesmerizing!
Soft disagree about the harp playing. In this context with soft spoken guests and audio over internet, it's kinda distracting and squished sounding.

Limited batch orders are a great idea. Artists sell prints like this, and it feels fair to the buyer.

@@BobbyGeneric145it’s not that they’re missing it, it’s that counterfeits prevent that from being a viable revenue stream.
