I have a really good tip: if your toddler won't get into their PJ's just tell them that you are going to have a PJ party. I used this for my 4 year old and he got in right away.
I had this one babysitter who did not say goodnight to me and just turned on a movie and went on her phone and now that I am babysitting I will not be like her and my very first babysitter was my favorite because she took me to the park and did projects with us.

Whenever I go babysitting I always bring this old American girl book about babysitting for tips (I know so cheesy 😂.) Something's I do is clean the dishes so the parents don't have to come home to dirty dishes, if their room is dirty with toys I tell them to clean their room and I will give them a reward (usually just a sticker or a lollipop if it's not late.) I really do love babysitting but it's also really tiring.

Jenna Mack well if the kids are sleeping and you hear noises turn off whatever you doing like your phone and get up and go check on them also if there bored do not ignore tell them what they can do make sure you have the parents number in case of an emergency I think that's all and don't demand money! I don't have patience at all for people who are old enough to know better but with kids 10 and under I learn to just go with their flow because they can get very annoying but you don't want them to be sad of get upset with you because then they won't listen to you they will be whiny and they will tell their parents and that will just let the parents that you might hurt their child's feelings again
Chances are, whoever you’re babysitting are gonna want to go in with you, I took a babysitting class and the instructor told me that it is up to you if you are okay with them going in with you. Personally, if the kid was old enough to be alone for a bit, I would leave them out, if the child was quite young, I would let them come in with me because things like that are normal for them. Sorry this was so long lollll
I thought about getting a summer job, and since I'm not old enough to work for a company or a fast food place this would be a good job for me. I take care of my cousins when they come over and my mom has agreed with this job too. So these tips might help a lot.

tip that i learned in a Red Cross babysitting class: buy a big bag of gummy bears or fruit snacks bc its harder for young kids to choke on them (worms can go down their throat), the kids love it, and not a lot of people are allergic to them! use them as a reward if they were really good or something, just make sure the parents are ok with it.
One time I was babysitting these kids and someone knocked on the door. I didn't want to answer it but the kid ran and opened it anyway! This unknown man stood there asking if the bike on their lawn was theirs because they were thinking of taking this kid's bike if they didn't move it now. I would still advise not to open the door, if you are ever not sure.
My worst experience was when I was nine. I was babysitting four kids under the age of 5! And I was changing a 6 month olds diaper, when I went turned to get the wipes he had rolled off the bed but, thankfully he landed on a huge pile of pillows!!!! But it really scared me and the baby!!!!! I immediately called my mom and she came over and not only reassured the baby but also reassured me!!!!

I frequently babysit for a family that has 2 kids with autism and 1 deaf kid and a 3 month old baby and one time when I was 12 years old I was babysitting all 4 of the kids by myself and 1 of the kids with autism ran away and he usually runs away to a house that's down the street but this time he didn't so I went around knocking on everybody's door and after knocking on about 15 people's doors I finally found him:) But it was hard to find him because I had to take the baby, the kid with autism and the deaf kid with me and trying to get all of them from one house to another was impossible. (All of the kids were 3 years old or younger)
The reason they have three special needs kids is because they wanted to adopt kids and nobody would adopt the kids with special needs so they ended up adopting 3 special needs kids.

The child I keep babysitting wakes up or always refuses to go to bed, even when I tell them that you should follow the rules or else Santa will put you on his naughty list, she still wakes up. Gotta babysit until 12 am today so I really don't want her waking up when the parents get home, it will look like she was up the whole time. Is there another way to get her to sleep well?
