after reading her book this interview feels sad and super wrong. when she started talking about how her mom had cancer i inmediately remembered how she wrote that her mom used to tell her to say that in order to make people feel sorry for her or to get away with things. Jenette deserves so much love.

Halfway through the book! This interview feels almost sickening to watch because of the point you made and just thinking how she went through crap to please her mom. Especially forcing her to smile through it all.

@@oceansdaughter749 It's almost too painful to watch. You can see the pain and checked outness in her eyes. And there she is saying everything her mom coached her and forced her to say. It's so good to see her healing and growing through the honesty of her book.

so true. There are so many things I notice after reading her book. How (unhealthly) skinny she was, how rehearsed everything she says is, the fake personality. Normally I would say she matured, but watching 2020 + interviews, she's a completely different person.

Poor baby Jennette… I wonder if her mom trained her to say she wanted to act because of Star Wars instead of letting the public know she was forced to it. Awww, I remembered when this aired, back in 2009 and I was only 12 years old 😍 Jennette was never Sam from iCarly to me - back when this aired she just started her country music career. "So close" and "Homeless heart" were playing all over again in my room🎶 and it was thrilling to see her finding her way as a country singer, her relationship with her mum and the whole Cody Waters friendship, how she handled with all the challenges in her life. For me she'll always be Jennette, the great artist and person.✨

Wow this is really sad because, I just finished reading, I'm glad my mom died. And she was just going through the motions, on autopilot throughout her whole life. Not just in rehearsals and on the movies and tv shows but also, the way she detailed it, like she was also on autopilot just going through the motions on these talk shows and interviews. The only place I felt she was there was with her family and her mom. And the only real relationship i felt she had was with Miranda and Colton.
I remember seeing this interviews and i loved her fun bubbly personality. It's really heartbreaking that it was all a facade. And she was so unhappy. I hope she's living her life now to the fullest how she wants to live it and not for others.

She hated acting, was shy, and never wanted to be in the spotlight. So, she’s overcompensating by acting hyper and bubbly. Her smile doesn’t even reach her eyes.
