- I wanted to do this amazing classic by The Carpenters after getting LOTS of requests on FB after I did "We've Only Just Begun" and "You" also by The Carpenters. It is so nice to hear young beautiful singers like Shane Ericks singing these lovely Carpenters songs so that the younger generation of today can hear what we use to enjoy in the 70s and 80s. Shane, thank you for keeping these songs alive and please continue to sings these good “old” song.❤️❤️❤️
I have always been very critical of "singers" that attempt to sing Carpenters songs. I think Karen Carpenter has one of the sweetest and cleanest voices I have ever heard and hard to emulate. I have to say that your voice is extremely close to hers (I think yours is a touch higher (treble) than hers. However, your voice is as sweet and clean as Karen's. Great version!! I really love it!!!

Shane isn't fooling anybody with her raw singing talent. Phrasing and breath control at it's finest and no AutoTune. Great job Shane, keep up the great job

Great voice. Yes, you do sound like Ms. Carpenter but you have a "soul" of your own that's undeniable. Made me really teary eyed listening to your voice. Thank you for being faithful and staying close to the original arrangement of the song. Doing that showed more of your own heart. God bless.

Shane has perfect control of her voice and hits every note. The resemblance to Karen Carpenter is obvious and is very good. The only difference is Karen's low notes have a timber beyond compare. It is as if her voice box is resonating giving off a wonderful sound.

I have been moved by Karen's haunting voice that you feel in your soul.

Well done to young lady. It's refreshing to hear someone do a Carpenters cover that has the vocal range to attempt it. If y'all don't understand what I'm talking about, try and sing one sometime. It takes a lot of air to have that kind of range. My hope is that you don't spend much more of your career doing covers, because no matter what, you will be compared instead of listened to, and you have the bananas to carry yourself.
