Thanks so much. Love the video. I agree with your logic of using a digital meter, but having the more costly test strips as a back-up if the reading from the digital meter is questionable. QUESTION: When using test strips, do I need to fully submerged the test strip in the pool water container? You mentioned during the video that you only put about an inch of pool water in the test container.
Thanks so much. Loved the video. And I agree with your logic of using a digital meter, but having the test strips as a back up, should the digital meter reading be questionable. I am going to purchase a digital meter. QUESTION: Should your digital meter begin to read incorrectly, does your meter allow you to do a calibration with a standardized calibration fluid? QUESTION: Does the test strip need to be fully submerged in pool water in the sample container? You mentioned in the video that you had about an inch of water in your test container this would not allow the test strip to be fully submerged.
Hmm I add a lot chlorine in my pool due winter I didn't care a lot and I had off my salt system and my meter from 3000 went to 4000ppm is it normal chlorine to rise salt levels ?
My Hayward cell shows what it thinks is the current salt value on the app. It is never really accurate. It is usually high by 150 to 200 PPM. I have the electronic meter, and it is right on. I verify it at the local pool store, which tests water for free. The electronic meter is always close to the pool companies test. To add salt, I put it into my leaf rake/skimmer and hang it in front of a jet. Come back in 10 minutes, the salt is dissolved and the only thing left in the leaf skimmer is crud that was mixed in the salt that is not salt, like small rocks or sea shell fragments. My guess, that may be the source of the calcium that clogs up the salt cell.
Glad you passed the bicep hardness test! 😂
Omg. Lol. Me too

Is there a reason to not just take the reading straight from the pool?
Thank you! Bought meter - Appreciate your help so much!
