Thanks for the info, I'm researching what the better buoyancy shorts to wear under my wetsuit and I came to this one from the review that you did on the Varman. My question is would the Varman be a bit too much under a wetsuit, swimming 12 months in Scotland. I note that you say you definitely know that you are wearing one, but not once you are in the water ! TIA

You know, I would rather see how they look while you are swimming in them!

Is the waistband really high…as it looks like it sits way above bellybutton?!
Which seems odd if wearing these minus a vest

It is quite high but not above the bellybutton - certainly not when I wear them 😀

@@binnswynn2666thanks fellow swimmer. So, it’s an ok pair for regular indoor pool swims.. I won’t look like a complete lemon? I hope 😅😂

A quick question. From your experience, are they 100% waterproof? I am looking to buy a pair of neoprene shorts not for swimming assistance but because of a surgery that left me with an open wound near the tailbone (for at least 40-60 days) and I want something completely waterproof hoping to save the summer.

Hello there Vas Gko. I’m afraid these probably won’t do the job on their own. Whilst the neoprene will prevent water flow through it you are likely to get water ingress at the waistline. You might try a waterproof dressing with something like these on top. Good luck - I hope you salvage your summer swimming.
