@GoogleisgaE 1556 it's a theory from a book on the Celts but was pretty high when I posted that 🤦♂️
I'm a metal head through and through, but this is probably my favourite video ever. I just love it.
You can tell by the look on the faces of the musicians that they love what they do and are having a blast doing it. What fun!
Love for all the Irish folks!greetings from Algeria❤️❤️❤️ 🇮🇪🇩🇿 ❤️❤️❤️
Greetings from Dublin 🇮🇪👍
Greetings from the Netherlands 💃
I love the fact the young girl came out to dance to the Wonderful Music!!! How proud I would be if she were my daughter!!!
It's 9-23- 2021
If this doesn't lift your spirits, & bring a smile with a tapping foot... You're deaf & blind.!!
Thank You for playing this on youtube. 1920 & 21 has been a strange year in the USA, everywhere I think "Pandemic & Politics".
Here's the breath of fresh air, couldn't be more timely.

Ive been lucky enough to experience this Irish culture and i will say i wish id stayed in Ireland wonderful people take you as you come and im English.
My mom who passed away in 2011 used dance similar to this. Appalachian mt dancing.
Yeah, what she's dancing here is similar to irish step dancing but is different. I was wondering about it and saw someone else saying it was Appalachian
This is Sean Nos Which is basically the original or old time Irish dancing that the competitive Irish dancing we are used to today is built from. That’s the way I understand it. Seeing as many who immigrated to Appalachia were from Ireland is
Why we see the various forms of dance such as what you describe and clogging in the southern U.S. have their roots in Irish dance
Same basic tradition.
Long live our precious irish traditions!
Amen to that and i am not even irish

What world would it be without the Irish, Scottish and Italian people? No doubt: a poorer and sadder one! Cheers from Italy!
i keep coming back, thx for uploading this... reminds me of piece of luck i had while in Waterford. A taxi , super cool geezer, knew i wasnt from the hood and invited to a traditional pub with music like this. It was amazing, beyong amazing. (he also gave me a a few decent race horse tips!) . I must add that I did not meet a single person I didnt likeor whohad any ill intension whatsoever whilst a few months in waterford, everybody was just so nice.. These Irish have a special spirit. Will never forget it.
LOVE this comment
Me again, I've nearly tapped a hole in the floor and my kids think I've lost the plot.

I love people from Ireland. Actually, I am Irish myself.

Absolutely wonderful, i could listen to it all day every day, makes me proud to be Irish, with 1,8+ million views. i think half of them are mine.
This is what life is all about good Irish music and an old fashioned pub good drinks sit down and watch them dance play the music and enjoyed life I give them all five star ⭐🇨🇮🍀💯
I must have some Irish blood in me because I love this music.
Same
What if the Irish embodied all spiritual teaching? Joy trumps.
Born in Ireland - Irish, Raised in Ireland - Irish, anything other does not count
@@FatherDinny Except for when we grant honorary Irishman citizenships. But those are only for certain individuals of worthy calibre.
@@user-ys5yv2nz6w is it not an ethnicity?
I love Irish music !
You must be a man of good taste.

Really awesome.....
Greatings from Afghanistan
All of these younger musicians grew up choosing to spend their time with an instrument in their hands, not a cursed cell phone. Now look.
I love this Irlanda, greetings from Colombia, south America.
Love and strength FROM IRELAND🙋🐕🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
I'm almost in tears !! so wonderful
I just LOVE irish folk. It is the most moving and upbeat music - no words needed, their intruments tell the story in more detail than any vocals ever could.
I agree 😊❤️
Apparently, they're not Irish.
@@lostirish405 They're Irish.
A beautiful example of passing a country’s musical traditions to the younger generation.
It's the kind of music where, by the atmosphere created, the musicians love playing it every bit as much as the audience love hearing it. Hence it will never end ☘
Da diddly diddly music , fabulous God bless the Irish ☘️
I have learned tune 1 on the mandolin and it sounds even better an octave lower. I love my Irish blood❤🍀
This music gives you life. It is what I feel. Hopefully soon I will visit that fantastic country as Ireland. Long live Ireland and its people! Greetings from Mendoza - Argentina
Saw Dervish last night in Portland, OR. Great show!
...cool, the girl is dancing, toll 👍👍💃💃💃💃Super diese Musik.
Studying traditional music from india to ireland and it appears the further west one goes, the faster the kusic and fancier the foot work.
Its all terrific everywhere you go in the world!!
Folk music is one of Ireland's best exports.
My people 🥰
I cannot love this enough!
I'm Scottish on my Fathers side, Irish from my Mother...I'm pure Celt blood, and I love this kind of music. May your day be touched by a bit of Irish luck, brightened by a song in your heart and warmed by the smiles of the people you love.
Passion, tradition, identity. Ireland in three words. Happy St. Patrick Day from Italy, fellas!
Always loved Irish music and dance, I wish I could find more video.
Been to or played thousands of concert, but I haven't enjoyed a concert more than Dervish live!
Happy people. Amazing made my day.
God I love Dervish! If you haven't seen them in concert, GO. If you have, you know what I am talking about. Hup!
Real music. Brings you alive x x
I wish I could bring my doublebass in there and join my good friend steeve W and all those lovely musicians ! Great to see experienced musicians sharing with the youngest ! Only in Ireland
I bring mine to local sessions all the time. Just be sure whatever you're doing agrees with the guitar/oct mando/accordion chords or you will get hairy eyeballs and pretty much sound like ass. Barring that, the bass adds a really unique low end rhythm that I always get complimented for. If you're still on the fence, see Trevor Hutchinson. EDIT - plus the doghouse just makes everything look next-level
If That Bar Is Heaven I Think I Shall Go !!!
Wondeful music ! Great people ...
They pretend well... But one right I can say. They will attend your funeral.
Thank you very much! My father and I loved the performance especially girls dance.
That looks like so much fun!!!!!!
Beautiful! So sweet how the girl was initially very shy and her mum(?) encourages her to dance, then she takes off! Amazing talent in that video!
No, she isn't her mother. The drummer. She is Cathy Jordan. Singer of the Dervish, it's an Irish traditional folk band. But, I think you've already known this.
Now that defines the word craic, as in "having the craic". And shared equally by three generations, what could be better or speak more highly of the vibrancy of the Irish music tradition.
It's fun music like this that started me learning Irish dancing. This kind of music just makes you want to get up and jig it. :)
i love how happy this is
Beautiful ! I love Irish sessions
This Just Great ! Such Spirit !. So Good To See Young People , There And In The Thick Of It.
Some Tremendous Playing Here !. As An “Ancient Jazz Man”, I Worry About The Future Of

Viva Ireland!!!
Magnifique! bravo!
I had friends and relatives around Sligo, Missouri, USA, which was originally settled by the Irish who farmed and worked in the lead mines. This was their music. Beautiful.
No, it wasn't. This style of music is kind of modern. People in the days would use the same melodies, but with a vastly different sound.
Well, Since yoou're over 100 years old, you would know.
I am able to read books.
LOL
@@Sebastian_Gecko Well aren't you the cranky-ass?
Just amazing! I could listen to this great music of Dervish everyday and never get bored. True artists. The best Irish band in the world, hands down!
