Thanks for the vid and the Suspension info, I currently ride a GS 1200 which is an awesome bike, but test rode a MT yesterday ,and its such a fun bike, and can obviously get into tight places that i dont feel confident taking my GS, so i am certainly considering adding the MT to the garage, I note that CF Moto have now released to The MTX 800, which is based on the KTM 790 , so that bike could also be an interesting contender in this space . Thanks again for the vid
@@warrend6206 Thanks for watching 👍 I'm not sure I'd peddle an 800 through where I was in some of these tracks, mainly in case I had to pick it up again 😁
15psi works for the stock tires. Tried it already on similar trails and I don't even try to avoid medium sized hits (baby heads) to test out the suspension. Also used it on an mx track with the same tire pressure with decent sized jumps and even landing flat, no probs with the rims. Those saying that 20psi will destroy the rims probably don't even have the same bike to begin with. Pretty envious of that trail you've got though 🙂
Great video and info buddy. Also happy to see you riding the OEM tyres - looks like nothing much wrong with them for that area. I am waiting for my 450mt which is apparently due mid Oct here at Sunstate Motors but am still riding my drz250. I will use your settings as a base when I go to adjust my 450 when I get it (allowing that I am 70 kg 😂). I didn’t recognise the area you were riding - looks great and varied - is it down beginners car park end or up near Imbil? Might see you out there sometime 👍
Excellent video. Great information. Do I understand you correctly? That the settings you made have have softened and smoothed out the hits? I have the MT and find the suspension a bit 'harsh'. (About to have its first service.) I just explore. 75year old and 95kg. I will never be hammering over the technical stuff and feel that less reactive suspension might 'jolt' less and give me better control. I have never been a dirt bike rider and never owned a bike with adjustable front suspension before. Back in the day we used to have fun in the bush with old road bikes. We geared them down to crawl over rough stuff because the clutches would burn out if you slipped them all the time. I find the MT very nimble to handle and secure but a bit more top heavy when moving very slowly than the bikes I am used to. I am going to drop the frame down by that 20mm. Should be good. Great all round bike, which is why I bought it. Well made too. And the motor is a hooligan. Cheers.
@@lawrieyoutube4375 That's correct, it has smoothed out the sharper hits 👍 A combination of softening the suspension, getting it to sit slightly higher in the stroke and running a bit less air in the tyres all helps. Thanks for stopping by 👍
hello sir, after days and days of searching for a replacement oil screen bolt?plug? for my SMR 511 I thought maybe you could direct me int he right direction, its the two bolts that cover the strainer tubes, all I can find is zipty racing 40 dollars and 20 shipping just for two drain bolts, there has to be a OEM somewhere, any help would be massively appreciated
@@billyicon13 Hello, thanks for the message. The same screen covers and drain plug are used for the BMW G450X. I would contact a BMW motorcycle dealer and see if they have them available there.
Just ordered mine here in the states. Very excited. I also have a Sherco 300. I hope I love this bike as much as the Sherco in different regards.

Based on my experience, I think you will.
Both great in their own ways 👍
Love my 450MT out here in AUS.VIC
Great bike - this is a game changer.
@@TheSar Agreed.
Great bike and an eye opener for me after years solely on Enduro bikes.

There's a couple of different locations in the video, but Kenilworth/Imbil and Kandanga is the area.
Thanks for checking out the video. 👍
