@@TheSeatShop I need rear cover driver seat on the back due to broken tabs. I need driver cushion and leater bottom cover. I need the passenger side rear door bottom seat cushion and leather cover. Question: rear and front bottom seat cushions and leather covers are the same right?
Customer update - Purchased bottom seat foam for this model rig and replaced it today. Excellent instructions, I used your video to walk me through it. Had to get get a new seat adjuster clip that went flying too far to bother looking for it, otherwise no issues. Think it was the 1/2" clips, had to buy a mix pack. I wore leather gloves when removing and replacing the cover/foam combo. Also, struggled with the very front fastening rail. Ended up, you just set seat on floor, sit on it and compress the foam a bit and you're golden. I did this as a one man job, and again, the bottom driver's foam only. Was also a good time to lube the lead screws on electric seat as well, takes a couple seconds. Cleaned under there a well with good access, what a mess, I made 12 cents though Lastly, this foam firmed up the seat so much it reminds me of my 2009 Toyota Tacoma I just sold. Bolster isn't quite as firm as Toyota, but it's way better than Chevy OEM, about twice as firm as the replacement foam with 200k of seat time on it. It's so much firmer the rubbing of the right bolster squeaks a bit running the seat back and forth. Good stuff for sure, 5 stars. I'm a SeatShop customer from here on out. Thank you

Once you have the bottom cushion ready to place back onto frame, place a thin sheet of material (i used a large For Sale sign, the big one) on the seat frame and partially sticking thru the back where you can grab it. Once you set the cushion and push it thru pull the sign from the back and it will pull that part of the cushions foam that needs to go over the rear portion of the frame. You'll understand when your trying to get that foam piece over the back of the frame, pull the whole sign thru, it's tight ("that's what she said") but it will save you alot of struggle.

Awesome tutorial you guys and thank you!!! It would have been tighter and less wrinkles if you had put the top clip where it belonged and clipped it around the metal frame. At 34:18 you just tuck the clip and don't attach it where it was removed from at 24:27. This looks like a great quality product if installed correctly, but in my opinion it appears not attaching that top clip properly and pulling the material tight will lead to excessive wrinkles (As was the end result) and premature tearing around those headrest holes since the topside wasn't pulled over tight into the correct location...... I did my cadillac escalade, and I thank you for this video! I would like to do my crew cab chevy next, front and back seats. Do you have suppliers for that, they are cloth now.
We are always looking for sources for the OEM cloth material, but it is tougher to track down, since it's not as simple as stamping and dyeing the leather.
Hey Rusty, since we source our leather from the same tanneries as GM, our covers will have match the original from color, pattern, and stitching. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Really nice everything fit well but I have a bunch of electrical stuff down motors and power everything so the only way I got it on real easily was I tied a string around it fetched it with a wire and pulled it from the other side that plastic clip cuz you can't get your fingers in there it's tight it just went right on so you might be able to say something about that or that might help you out doing them thanks
If you allow me, what is the difference between it and the oem or the type that is on the car from the factory? Is this considered an economic alternative or is it comfortable
I used a piece of pipe to extend my ratchet handle to create leverage and break the seal from 15 years of crud and corruption. Go slowly so as to not round the head. I also bought an E Torx socket instead of using a 6-sided metric socket. While that will work, the E socket was flawless.
Hey John, we actually do not have a video as of yet if you are looking for this year range there will be 2 different style jump seats, one is very doable the second we recommend taking it to someone in our install network. Hopefully, we can get these up fairly soon - www.theseatshop.com/resources/install-locator/
I just put this purofoam cushion in my 2009 Silverado. It feels good so far but it makes me sit up higher in my seat. Not sure how I feel about that yet.
Hey Robert, while it does have you sit up a bit higher, you will get used to it before you know it! Feel free to reach out to us anytime if any questions or concerns come up.
Hey Elton, unfortunately, we do not have a full bench video for the GM options. This is because most front bench seat options glued the cloth to the foam cushion making replacing the cover a completely different process. If this is the case we would recommend talking to an upholstery shop since they will have the knowledge on how to better help you out. Here is a link to all of the shops in our network - www.theseatshop.com/resources/install-locator/
Hey Nicholas, that does work in some cases but almost 95% of the seat cushions are asymmetrical (one side is larger)... so if that is the case what gets complicated is the foam does not fit correctly in the seat frame and mainly the seatbelt groves that are made specifically for that side will not work.
Hi Mike, yes, our foam and leather covers are fully compatible with your seats. It would be the same steps removing the covers and installing the new ones, the only difference is obviously going to be the material itself. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
Hey Ramon, if you are wanting to swap out 2nd-row seats for your front row seats there will be a difference and we would not recommend you doing this. But we have heard and seen people swap out seats all of the time.
is this procedure similar for a 2015 that is heated and has the vents in the seat for A/C? I have to replace that same cushion and the cover this weekend for a customer. they wanted a full seat but none available, so they opted for this.
Hey kenman1717, thanks for the comment, they are very similar on the way the clip on but some things do change, we are planning on recording a video very soon for the newer models
This actually was almost exact. The seat was held on a little different, and I ended up not being able to take it out anyway do to aftermarket dvd units in the back of the seat. But the cushion attached the same, and the cover was the same. Only difference really was the element bag for the A/C and heat under the cover. But without this video I probably would of ended up ripping the whole thing apart literally and not knowing how to put it back together, so thanks for having made this video.
When I did mine, I undid the 4 seat mounting bolts. That allowed me to tilt the seat back for easier access to the bottom. By just tilting the seat back I didn't have to undo any wiring or lift the seat out of the vehicle. Just tilt it back and it made things easier.
Do you have a dealer/installer here in San Antonio, or would I need to go all the way up to Dallas to have you guys install a new cushion and seat cover for me?
I carefully removed my driver side seat heating element from the old foam and placed it on the new seat foam. Once the outer leather is snapped into place, the heater element wont move.

Is there a way to remove the lower (butt part) part of the seat without having to remove the entire seat? The motor doesn't move forward or backwards so i can't get to bolts to remove the seat.

As you stated, this is a 2010 or newer that appears to "Snap-in" the folds, but the older seat cover designs uses full length type "Velcro" or hook & loop as found on a 2003 Tahoe or other GMT800. What is best practices for repairing the velcro on the foam if it comes loose, tears or separates? Even when a foam cushion that is in good shape, things happen, I don't want to purchase a new foam cushion? Glue or what? Suggestions?
Don't confuse wrinkles with a poor install. Remember when the seat sits in the truck for a few days they flatten out a lot. Similar to new furniture breaking in. Also we have videos on how to steam out wrinkles this is just a labor only video. Thanks for watching.
The back of my seat "same design as one in video just full electric" squeaks when I lean back in it. The sound seems to come from the back what could that be?
Yes, you can use 2014 Tahoe seats in a 2009 since it's in the same year range. As long as the seats are not from the following year range (2015) you're good to go.
Yes, this should definitely work, you may want to also consider purchasing a new foam cushion as well. To ensure the leather covers last as long as possible.

AWESOME VIDEO! Do you stock the front seat lumbar foam?
Hello, we do not. Perhaps a traditional upholstery shop would be able to assist you with this.
Never mind that's embarrassing I have it I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe
Really nice everything fit well but I have a bunch of electrical stuff down motors and power everything so the only way I got it on real easily was I tied a string around it fetched it with a wire and pulled it from the other side that plastic clip cuz you can't get your fingers in there it's tight it just went right on so you might be able to say something about that or that might help you out doing them thanks
Thanks! We appreciate the feedback and info, we will definitely look into making these installation videos as smooth and easy as possible.
Do you guys make one for the heated seat feature?
Is there a video for rear seat installation?
That’s exactly what I thought too!
Do you have a video for doing the center console on a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado?
I've got the '13 GMC w/ 8-way heated/AC seats. do you make the foam for them also? is the seat back also vented/perforated?
If you allow me, what is the difference between it and the oem or the type that is on the car from the factory? Is this considered an economic alternative or is it comfortable
I tried the 15 mm wasn't working I did find the right socket but dang it's on there need to find a impact wrench
I used a piece of pipe to extend my ratchet handle to create leverage and break the seal from 15 years of crud and corruption. Go slowly so as to not round the head. I also bought an E Torx socket instead of using a 6-sided metric socket. While that will work, the E socket was flawless.
What difference is there when changing the cover on a heated seat?
No difference whatsoever same easy shit to do
That's my question too. If I want to replace the cushion and cover, is the heating element something I can pull out and attach to the new cushion?
Awesome video thanks
Sure thing, glad we could help! Thanks for the support.
Do you have a video to replace the jump seat leather? Not just the cover all mine is stained.
Will this work for the 2nd row captain/bucket seats as well?
Can I buy pre put together bottom cushion with leather so I can just put it on?
Great video BUT why not just ship it with the foam insert already in place?
Is there any difference in process if you have heated and cooled seats? 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali
great video, thanks
You're welcome, happy to help!
I have cloth seats and want to keep cloth, with this seat bottom work for my drivers front seat?
We're only going to have the leather and vinyl replacement covers but the foam cushion will work with your cloth covers.
TheSeatShop ok thanks
Have you done a video of replacing a drivers side front bench seat for a 1995-1999 suburban?
Hey Elton, unfortunately, we do not have a full bench video for the GM options. This is because most front bench seat options glued the cloth to the foam cushion making replacing the cover a completely different process. If this is the case we would recommend talking to an upholstery shop since they will have the knowledge on how to better help you out. Here is a link to all of the shops in our network - www.theseatshop.com/resources/install-locator/
Can you help me find a seat cover replacement for 2010 suburban 3rd row rt side seat?
thanks for posting this!!!
my arthritis can't put my covers on. Can I send the seat to you???
wih you all made a video on how to modify standard durofoam to cooling seat for 2007-2014
General Motors.
Ripped leather, peeling paint, and cracked dash boards, yet I keep buying them.
I wonder about swapping the driver and passenger lower foam cushions, so the worn down part is on the inside.
Hey Nicholas, that does work in some cases but almost 95% of the seat cushions are asymmetrical (one side is larger)... so if that is the case what gets complicated is the foam does not fit correctly in the seat frame and mainly the seatbelt groves that are made specifically for that side will not work.
TheSeatShop that makes sense.
Nicholas Bradley. that's what I did!
they are identical on my 2011 gmc sierra
I wonder about the same thing on my 2007 Avalanche, wondering if that's possible about switching the lower cushions?
I have a 08 sierra 1500 with cloth seats, its a sle.. can I put new foam and new leather in its place? If so, is it the same steps?
Hi Mike, yes, our foam and leather covers are fully compatible with your seats. It would be the same steps removing the covers and installing the new ones, the only difference is obviously going to be the material itself. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
I bought some rear captain seats for my 07 tahoe from a 07 denali but the mounting frame is different can that be swapped from my old captain seats?
I'm having the same issue. Did you just unbolt the new frame and attach the old frame on?
Glad we were able to help you out
Can you put the bottom seat cover on without removing the whole seat
When I did mine, I undid the 4 seat mounting bolts. That allowed me to tilt the seat back for easier access to the bottom. By just tilting the seat back I didn't have to undo any wiring or lift the seat out of the vehicle. Just tilt it back and it made things easier.
Does anyone have a video of how to install the replacement foam and vinyl for the center console? Thx!

Nice I was doing a 2021 Tahoe rear seat for my c10 that the rats got in the seat kinda the same as this
How much is it rough you for a whole seat cover changer 2012 Chevy Tahoe Ltz grey
Where do I buy just the foam seats?
We do sell the foam cushions separately on our website!
Do you have a dealer/installer here in San Antonio, or would I need to go all the way up to Dallas to have you guys install a new cushion and seat cover for me?
Anyone had luck finding a replacement bottom heated seat heating element?
I carefully removed my driver side seat heating element from the old foam and placed it on the new seat foam. Once the outer leather is snapped into place, the heater element wont move.
Awesome. Thanks
Happy to help!
Good morning.
Question is the seats for a 2009 GMC Sierra is the same fit for the 2015 GMC Sierra ? Can you please let me know .
Thank you
Hi Aldo, the 2009 GMC seat style ran for the year ranges 2008-2013 and the 2015 GMC Sierra will be a different style

Do the wrinkles go away over time?
They do! Heat will help that.
short answer: yes, with everyday use and the heat of the Sun, they will eventually go away.
Would you recommend putting some sort of a rubber edge guard to cover the sharp edges? I only ask because my driver side seat back foam was cut when I removed my seat cover.
We make our foam with a fiberglass backing now to avoid that. Something the factory still isn't doing!
Is there a way to remove the lower (butt part) part of the seat without having to remove the entire seat? The motor doesn't move forward or backwards so i can't get to bolts to remove the seat.
Unbolt the motor and when you get done put the seat where you want it and it will lock it back in place. Other another motor while it’s out.
Do you have fabric bottoms?
We do not since the cloth material has been difficult to source but we do offer leather and vinyl covers at this time.
I learned a lot watching you but it would help if I could hear you also you need a camera man for close ups, I would like to order just the driver seat bottom cover I will call you for order.
Thanks for your insight William B, we have looked back at our older install videos and have implemented the close-ups on our current videos. Whenever you get to installing and have any trouble please feel free to give us a call at 214-710-2565 we will be more than happy to help you out.
Where to get new foam from
How can u get all those wrinkles out on the finished product?
Wondering the same thing. Jest did mine and it doesn’t really look to great although it not as bad as theirs
Hey Dean, thanks for the question, this happens to all types of foam new or old but the best way to fix this is using 3M adhesive spray glue.
Thanks very much for the suggestion, I appreciate it.
so if I have cloth seats and want to switch to leather I can do this?
Yes of course. We do cloth to leather conversions quite often. Give us a call. 214-710-2565

What about all the wrinkles?. Looks easy but to me that dont look good unless its tight with none of those wrinkles.
Don't confuse wrinkles with a poor install. Remember when the seat sits in the truck for a few days they flatten out a lot. Similar to new furniture breaking in. Also we have videos on how to steam out wrinkles this is just a labor only video. Thanks for watching.
Would this be the same for a sierra 3500 hd 'work truck'
Hi Mario,
Yes, it's the same process for the work truck. Let us know if you have any questions.
The back of my seat "same design as one in video just full electric" squeaks when I lean back in it. The sound seems to come from the back what could that be?
Thank you
Can i use 2014 tahoe seats on 2009 tahoe seats!
Yes, you can use 2014 Tahoe seats in a 2009 since it's in the same year range.
As long as the seats are not from the following year range (2015) you're good to go.
Can this work as an upgrade for cloth seats
Yes, this should definitely work, you may want to also consider purchasing a new foam cushion as well. To ensure the leather covers last as long as possible.
TheSeatShop can I get a link to purchase

@@TheSeatShop ok one quick question. Will a 2013 chevy Silverado leather power seats fit a 07 Silverado single cab??
@@trentlothringer2867 at least for the seat upholstery, the 2007 (NBS) ran the same until 2014.
