I got my degree at NTU, and feel very attached to Singapore. Teochew Bak Kut Teh is one of my favorites. Thank you so much for uploading this video, which is indeed very helpful.
Hi, just want to say a big thank you & your shows are always my go-to when I need to cook something for my family. My mom has a pressure cooker exactly like yours! May I know how you use it exactly & what are the basic & important things to look out for when using it. Thanks!
I was really missing late night Bah Kut Teh at Balestier Rd, so I want this tonight heh heh :) Thanks for the simple recipe. Now if I can find tao suan I'll really be in business.
hi why did you boil until it whistles and then turn off and then go again one more time? what is the reason for switching it off, let the pressure cool down then do it one more time?
+CYNTHIA DIAMOND Hihi Roland turned it off because he wants to release the steam built up in the pot and just let the steam continue boiling the soup - this way we get to save cooking gas.
ok so technically we can let the pot continue boiling at low heat instead of turning it off for the same duration, right? if dont turn off how long do u think we should boil? i am using pressure cooker. btw your recipe is legit. i trust all your recipe.
+CYNTHIA DIAMOND Thank you so much for your trust in our recipes! Glad you share the same taste as us. If you like to boil it a little longer, you can boil it for about 20 - 25 mins then off the fire. As long as there is still liquid in the pot, you can continue boiling. We reckon you would need to boil twice even if you have let it boil for 30 mins in each round.
Hi Desmond. We got it from a market in Vietnam but we also found a HDB shop in Singapore selling it too. The shop is at Serangoon Central but we cannot remember which one. You can also get it from Taobao. Search under 汤铁球
Hi, For the soup beside add the Chicken feet can i add chicken bone as well? And if i use Bak kut teh mix do i need to add the cinnemon barks and star anise?
Hi Sabrina. Yes you can use chicken bones too. If you’re using premix, you don’t have to add anything extra. Just follow the packaging instructions- although I would add slightly lesser water first. After cooking, if you think more water is needed to dilute the soup, then you can add more water. Hope this helps.
Hi Sir today i try your recipe and my employer like it much..thank you for sharing your recipe🙂
Just wanted to say- I think that you’re so sweet! ☺️
I love the Singlish accent so much. This reminds me of the years that I lived in Singapore. I miss Singapore and the food there.
+ShiXingDongZhan awww. Thank you so much! You’re one of the few who appreciate our accent. The rest was like ‘huh??? Speak English please!’ 😂😂😂

Hahha absolutely. 👍🏻👍🏻
Don't go to that shop in Balestier road , it not nice n tasty, it for tourist to eat.
Lousy cooking , bullshit.
I see your chickens went to the manucurist before having their feet cut o.O
I really like your pressure cooker.
Nice video! What about the dipping sauce? Is it chilli with Chinese dark soya sauce (老抽) or is it ketap manis?
It’s chines dark soya sauce.😊
Thank you, must try, we love Bak kut teh
+Irene S Nguyen You're most welcome 😋😋😋

You’re most welcome. Happy cooking!
Please use both white and black peppers. the taste will be much better.
Yes you’re right. Very good 👍👍 we used white and black pepper in our other video ua-cam.com/video/O_6I6L34498/v-deo.html
Hi,
So we don't need ginger to get rid of the pork smell or makes the soup healthier and tastier? 🤔😁
Hihi. No need. You can just follow our recipe here. Also avoid buying Australian pork. Indonesian pork is better - taste wise.
Wonderful recipe. Thank you. Can half hour in normal pressure cooker enough?
Hihi. Preferably 45 mins to 1 hour if you want the soup to be more flavourful. Happy cooking!

Hi Roland! Thanks for the recipe! Can you kindly share where did you buy your steel mesh ball from?

You can try an Amazon search for "tea stainless mesh balls" they come in all styles and sizes (1 inch to 13 inches, maybe more :D )
