A lot of people won't agree,but I love all kinds of music...Rush is my favorite band... I listen to everything.. My genre list is longer than some people's artist or play list..and when I tell you that that is one of the best albums ever recorded believe me it is... The Cranberries were one of the best things coming out of Ireland..with the likes of U2,Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy,David Gray and Sinead O'Connor.
I love The Cranberries. They were not just the velvety voice of Dolores, they were a truly talented band, that made a music really beatiful and rich. Their influences were post-punk, jangle of The Smiths and irish folk, but the most important thing is they were capable of made a distinguishable sound fronted by the greatest female vocalist of modern rock. Dolores is without any doubt at the same level as Stvie Nicks, Patti Smith or Janis Joplin

This song reminds me of high school. As always, excellent sound quality. Time to hop in the time machine and travel back to the time I met my wife, 26 years ago. We were 15 then. Linger always gives me goosebumps. Can you please do Dreams?
Linger always transports me back to when I was 16. I can picture driving my tan interior 1975 Dodge Dart, near my high school, while puffing down a smoke in-between classes. This song was always on the radio. While the song has a different meaning, it always reminds me of my carefree days in my past. Amazing what power music has over the brain. Thank you for doing this video, very high quality and sounds way better than my Pioneer twist knob radio in my Dart.

Oh, it's not shocking, they just weren't in your radar, It happens a lot. I'm not aware of every song or band that ever existed, even those that were very popular at some point. I mean, I might even be aware of their existence, but I wasn't curious enough to hear their work. In this case, I only knew their first two albums during the 1990s, but I lost track of their later work, which I never heard to this day. I always liked the intensity of the female vocalist, she was quite something, but It may not be to everyone's taste.

Always placed The Cranberries in the mental box of 90's pop band with 2 or 3 big radio hits and never ever paid them much mind. That's probably at least somewhat a disservice.
I understand, but The Cranberries were one of the most special things of the 90s, they were the first who mixed dreampop to post-punk and classic rock in one album; their debut. And Dolores for me is the greatest of all time, and also she was really competent guitarist. She is a musician who born every 50 years or more, and always I will love her

I was never a fan of the Cranberries, that's not to say I disliked them, they just never really caught my ear, but listening to Linger after all these years was refreshing and have to say an enjoyable, not overproduced, but cleverly crafted track.. thanks again Rui, as always nailed it...

But to this day I still like them, I especially like the intensity of the delivery of Dolores O'Riordan, she was a very intense girl, LOL.
And there's more, on this video I used a Rega Aria phono stage, if I'm not mistaken you have an Aria too, right? The Aria looks like the black monolith from the 2001- A Space Odyssey movie, 🤣 but I'm loving the sound.

Wow! I can't believe it. Listening to this and then listening to the CD on my stereo, I find this many times better quality. Admittedly, my computer is using a Dolby 5.1 system with powered subwoofer, but the tonal quality is simply better. Guess it is time to buy the vinyl. Rui, you are going to bankrupt me I'm afraid. 😉 Now, if my wallet will quit yelling at me, It will be worth it, I believe. This is really a deserted island album. Dolores' voice can't be ignored. Su manera liviana de cantar a la tirolesa imprimió un aire etéreo a su música a pesar de ser una banda de pop-rock. Linger es una de sus canciones más emblemáticas. Esta edición suena fantástica, muy detallada pero suave a la vez.💎 Volviste a la estética del "amarillo" , el video se ve muy limpio y sobrio tal cual nos tienes acostumbrados.👍✨
Ellos mismos siempre se definieron como banda alt-rock. Tienen algunos temas de pop y pop-rock, otros de hard-rock como Hollywood, pero en mi humilde opinión están totalmente relacionados con esa generación alternativa, y no tanto con el pop-rock clásico

Yo uso el tapete de lana original pero no siempre, a veces uso un tapete Achromat, fabricado por Funk Firm, y muy a menudo, con este cartucho Rega Exact me gusta usar un tapete Origin Live de solo 1 mm de grosor. Cada uno de estos tapetes me da una diferencia de sonido muy sutil, y uso cada uno según el disco y el cartucho.
