such a classic SW:Xsafghtrxfn tyr jxb
Me too, after knowing the journey it's even better❤
Same here. Few songs are essentially perfect and get you from the first time. This one was just amazing. Same with Smiths (There is a light...), James (Sit Down)...
Dolores O’Riordan wrote “Linger” about her first kiss. As a result of the kiss - which happened in a nightclub - O’Riordan fell in love. A few weeks later, the man she kissed went up to the dance floor with another girl right in front of O’Riordan. In an interview with Gerry Ryan in 2002 O’Riordan said: “I was heartbroken! I was only 18 and it was just a kiss, you know? At that age it’s heartbreaking.”
Since Dolores O’Riordan was only 18 when she wrote the song, it depicts a sense of innocent youthfulness. This youthfulness is perfectly translated into the melancholic vibes of “Linger”.
This should be a Top comment. Thanks for bringing context to the song and its words 😌
Thank you ❤
I thought she was 17 when that all happened
Oh the irony. The subsequent pain and feeling of abandonment from that kiss led to this amazing song.

Classics never die, they just find new people.😘
True, I never heard of this artist. My husband passed away recently and I finally was going for a short drive when this came on the radio. The leaves were changing and this time of year he loved. What a beautiful melody against the backdrop of the fall colors. I felt it was a sign from him that everything would be okay and that he was okay, wherever he is. I have this on my play list and I think of my drive everytime I hear it.

The intro of the song is so beautiful and I love that smooth transition.
I absolutely hate that she is gone. Her voice slices its way into a piece of my heart that can only be exposed by a couple people on this earth. I wish we could have more but thankfully we were blessed with what we have.
I immediately got chills right when Dolores started singing. She has such a beautiful voice and its such a beautiful and melancholy song.
