He's my rookie to watch this season. I see him as a Power-Forward who will thrive next to athletes in the front-court. If I'm Cleveland sitting with the #3 Pick, I consider moving back in the draft to get him later, pairing him with Jarrett Allen. Sabonis is a great comparison. His team's training staff must work on getting his legs stronger while making him more agile. He's a possible future All-Star. Great video

I hope he drops to 16 for OKC. I would love to see him develop with our other young guys. Would probably be smart to try and sign or trade for another big though. OKC has none atm and having Sengun as their only option would probably not work out too well. But I don't think he will drop that far, sadly :/

There are the obvious concerns defensively and about whether he can play the 4 or the 5, but Sengun is so talented offensively. He is a post god who has really good playmaking and handling skills for a big. If he can build on that 81% free throw percentage and develop a solid outside shot, he can become a highly skilled and well rounded offensive player. My main concern is that his strength and weight won't be enough for him to properly utilise his post play in the league.
Spitting image of Kevin Mchale on offense. I know it's early to make that comparison, but those post moves are incredible for an 18 year old. We'll see if he can play defense. Mchale was 1st Team All Defense many people forget.
McHale was nicknamed the black-hole by Larry Bird because he never passed. Sengun has great passing skills at 18. But I do agree with you on the foot work, baby hooks. He will get to work with the post footwork master in Dream. He could be special. I just cannot believe Spurs took Primo over Sengun. They could have traded way back to get Primo.
I mean he was insanely efficient at almost 70% TS even if that drops 10 percent day 1 that’s still really good efficiency for a non RRR center with a still relative non outside shot. And i feel with things like his offensive rebounding, dancer skill on the block and ability to get to the line that level of efficiency is somewhat attainable early on. Defense is definitely the larger question.

It's crazy how good his footwork is at such a young age, and his little jumper is a beauty. Nice sized body, can bang down low, has an array of moves. Reminds me of a young Akeem...watch out for this kid, this one is special, I'm telling yall....other teams will regret that they pasted up on him. He should've been at least in the top 9 for sure. Crazy talented already, and so young with tremendous upside. Houston won this one right here.

Yeah probably. At the same time, is he highly skilled offensively? Yes. Can he provide offensive value to a team? Yes. NBA 5's are becoming more and more specialized. Look around the league. The 5's that get playing time are almost all elite at at least 1 skill. Sengun can be an elite low post scorer. Guys like Kanter and Okafor stick around on teams because they're a bucket. I'm not saying Sengun is those guys. His potential may be higher because of versatility. I'm just saying if they can stick then why can he? People shouldn't be closed minded to archetypes just because they personally believe it's outdated. Evaluation should be an open minded process.

He doesn’t have quick feet, but at 18 and clearly not physically developed, I’d bet on his lateral movement to improve a lot over the next few years. 18 year old prospects get more athletic all the time when they hit an NBA strength training program. He’s not explosive vertically, but he definitely isn’t below average for a young underdeveloped big. He will end up being fine on the defensive end.
