He jumping after Luffy when they fell to the sea. Also that time he was so scared of Nami that he jumped into the sea. Finally, the time when he was about to say that Zoro was trapped inside a chimney 😂
what fucking kills me about that joke is it might be foreshadowing franky uploading his consciousness to the sunny (also foreshadowed by frankys post wano bounty poster) or the sunny's klabautermann thinking of franky as a brother, the second layer of the joke being that franky would actually be the sunny's dad instead of brother
Personally I've gotta love Franky's ability to subvert expectations with his inventions/techniques, starting with his backwards centaur against CP9 and building up to strategically placed nipple lights post-timeskip, truly underrated.
My favorite Law gag is when he randomly breaks character when meeting Raizo for the first time. They're all yelling stuff like "throw shurikens!" "stab the ceiling!" and Law is standing there all aloof, and then he just goes "... do a shadow clone jutsu!"
Yeah I really like when a serious or stoic character just starts acting out of character and starts acting silly or fanboying. Law fanboying over Stealth Black and Zoro laughing at Pica's voice are good examples of this and they are great. Law has quite a few of these moments and it shows that he has a childish side to him underneath his serious persona.
Kaku with the whole "i love giraffes" "giraffes are awesome" "the destructive power of a giraffe" gag while everybody laughs at how ridiculous his fruit looks is so funny to me too.
My favorite gag is when Sanji and Zoro met Crocus. Crocus said, "stop it, or somebody will die". Sanji replied, "oooh? who would that be?". Then crocus said, "Me". Sanji was furious 🤣 Perfection!
I love when in thriller bark luffys wearing armor and franky calls him an idiot and luffy comments he lost his sense of romance due to having a metal heart and he apologizes pulls out a guitar and starts playing a sad song
Luffy imitating other crew mates is a top tier gag. I don't know why Oda doesn't do it anymore. Luffy saying Choppa while Robin grows horns on his heads using her hands and Ussop's reaction to it is just so perfect.
Love the gag of Jinbe not knowing the other strawhats gags. Letting Luffy go alone, then let Zoro be the one to go find him. Then finding about Robins dark thoughts love it.
Omg yes!! Such an underrated one when he finds out how luffy just does whatever and the whole crew is maneuvering their plan with that in mind and he’s like the fuck 😂
That's actually so perfect for him on so many levels! Considering he's the newest Strawhat and has to learn about each of the other crew members and since he covers the "dad" of the crew, his aloof-ness just works!!
Robin is easily the Straw Hat that understands Luffy's thought processes the best. Best example: when he tries to remember who Marco is and she just slides through, goes "he looks like a pineapple" and Luffy immediately knows. Absolutely hilarious.
Thisss Sure, almost if not all the strawhats undertand Luffys thought process (or lack there of) really really well, like when Franky tell hims "close enough" when Luffy tries to repeat the coating explanation, but Robin just goes a level beyond that, she's like a dictionary Luffy-common sense/common sense-Luffy
I think Franky's gag of sobbing over sad stuff is pretty golden. Maybe a bit overdone but I do like how it contrasts with his design. A common trope with cyborg characters is sometimes wondering how much humanity is even left within them. The more they upgrade the less human they can seem. And so his crying gag serves as a pretty frequent reminder that even with all his mecha enhancements, he still hasn't lost his uniquely sensitive heart.
Me and my friend, who had lost her father years earlier were talking about how we would get along with the Strawhats, she said "Well I CERTAINLY shouldn't tell him MY backstory!" And then mimed Franky playing his guitar. 😢😂❤
Thank you! Franky's gags are so underrated, whether it be randomly suuuuperrrr, randomly dancing with random strangers in the snow, randomly crying, randomly kissing someone, randomly hard-boiled, randomly becoming violent, randomly blowing up something, randomly manifesting tools out of nowhere, randomly getting triggered with the word hentai, randomly changing hairdo's, randomly deploying nipple beaaams, and so on. I think his gags are perfect.
I can’t believe Sogeking being a complete character isn’t here. I mean I get that he’s so cool but it’s so funny how he just comes into and out of the story and we never really get to know much about him. Also Señor Pink being “hard boiled” and everyone swooning over him always makes me die laughing for a reason I don’t truly understand
@@GrGalan6464 The anime doing a full sentai opening sequence (animated differently every time!) every time Sogeking introduces himself to someone was so incredible that it's off the scale. Sublime.
The thing I love about the zombie gag is that the more you think about it the funnier it gets. First off, the fact the Zombie completely breaks the stereotypical zombie charade to yell at Luffy and the Strawhats agree with him to also yell at Luffy, which also cause them to break character considering they seemed legitimately freaked out by the zombie before that. Next is the realization that Luffy response to seeing a sick old man is to shove him into a dirt hole appearantly, cause he does it so nonchalantly and is genuinely confused by the horified reaction of everyone, which is so dark and begs the question how many elderly people has Luffy killed by burying them alive. It is the funniest moment in one piece to me hands down.
I think Frankie's different reactions to different drinks when fighting Fukuro is a top tier gag. Him becoming really chill when drinking tea slays me every time.
Bzzz Bzz "Ok we don't want them to know that we are on this ship..." Click "Helo Luffy here" and then something about how they were coming for Ace and the marines should "keep their potatoes peeled"
Franky’s “manly crying” and Luffy always announcing himself and saying he’s gonna be King of the Pirates every time he answers a den-den mushi are two that always get me.
25:25 my second favorite Law joke (after the "alliance=friends=no betrayal" joke) is when everyone casually ignores Law for Sanji's sandwiches, and then Law angrily says "I don't like bread!" before realizing he was caught up in their pace. Absolute gold! 😂
Law getting swept up in the straw hat's nonsense is great. And might be my favorite post-TS gags, especially the face he makes after he realizes what he's doing
I think Brook's "may I see your panties" gag peaked on the time skip with the cultists. Him finally getting someone to show their panties, but missing it because the tribe follows suit causing him to look away, is exquisite irony. After that point, the joke died.
The "rude skeleton jokes" being reduced to only the panties line sucks. I miss when he would rummage through someone's fridge or upon meeting one lady, he didn't ask to see panties- he asked to borrow money 😂
That was amazing! Although I loved his other moment of trolling Arlong even more. One when Arlong asks "What the difference between them is". And Luffy, looking 100% serious, replies "Noses". That killed me in the best way 😂
The gag of Luffy terrorizing his friends by jumping off cliffs or tall buildings is really funny to me. He''s having a great time and they're screaming for their life.
Thats my all time favorite! Also grabbing zoro (mostly) & crew from absolutely anywhere unconcerned with their safety bc he doesnt have to worry about it himself and him being oblivious to the danger. Gets me every time 😂
One of my favorite gags is a one off when the crew is leaving Alabasta. The whole crew minus Zoro at the time were mourning Vivi’s decision and Zoro asks why they didn’t force her on the crew and everyone insults Zoro. Luffy’s insult always killed me since he just said “santoryu” and Usopp told Luffy that that three sword style isn’t an insult so Luffy simply says “yontoryu” instead
One of the more underrated gags is when all of the crew are insulting Zoro one by one, Luffy calls him “Three sword style” then usopp tells him that’s not an insult, so luffy instantly corrects himself to “four sword style” with the best delivery ever just to further annoy usopp who then goes on a tangent.
To me the funniest moment is when they meet Crocus inside Laboon. The dramatic music and close-ups, him just sitting down and reading the newspaper, saying someone's gonna die and then saying it's him, telling Zoro to intorduce himself and then interrupting him. Peak comedy.
I agree that the gag with Luffy goading Kid and Law into playing his dumb game of chicken with literall Yonko Fireballs is probably the perfect gag because even without the context it's really funny, but with the context of Law normally being a tactical captain who thinks things through before acting only to have this hilarious hotblooded streak brought about by Luffy's influence it becomes even more hilarious
The reason why the Zombie gag is so funny is because its so layered 1. It comes at a point where tension has been rising, and the contrast of the gag just hits harder 2. The gag itself 3. The zombies reaction 4. Luffy thinking its an old man with wounds 5. The fact that even though he thought this, HE STILL SHOVED HIM BACK DOWN
Man that sequence is amazing, zoro's tarzan yell, nami's "it's history, chopper" while her eyes turned into berry, and robin's morbid joke are just perfect gag sequence
One of my favorite gags is one that goes unnoticed by many people: putting Devil Fruit users undersea, where they'll surely drown. Instances of this involve Luffy being thrown overboard, and then ANOTHER DF user like Chopper or Brook goes to rescue them. Also, sending them (and Robin) in missions undersea is the peak of irresponsible behavior. Hell, fricking Law has one the most valuable DFs in existence and he travels around the world in a submarine!
Luffy saying “Hey Usopp….” And turning around to hit the “CHOPPER” with Robin’s hands as antlers on his head will forever be the funniest moment in One Piece for me. Usopp and Zoro are so serious and that one line kills Usopp and all of them rolling on the floor laughing with Robins hands waving with them is just too good.
adjacent to the "Traffy's on my crew now!" gag, I really adore the bit that happened like twice in Punk Hazard where Law tells the crew that he and Luffy are in a pirate alliance, and they pull him aside, and quietly explain "look, I don't know what you expect an alliance to be like, but you're not gonna be getting that from Luffy, ok? he's... gonna be doing this his own way" 😂
I really love the gag of Luffy asking random people and creatures he meets to join his crew for no reason other than he thinks they're funny or interesting. Also the fact this gag eventually lead into Brook joining the crew makes it perfect to me.
I'd consider Luffy/Ussop/Chopper getting starry eyes at Franky's new whatever as an official Franky gag. I just love seeing the crew appreciate each other in such a mundane way.
I miss the gag where Luffy or Usopp would do an imitation of someone to the annoyance of everyone else. Like Usopp's Crocodile impression in Alabasta, or Luffy imitating Sanji in Skypiea
There's also Luffy imitating Chopper using Robin's fruit post Alabasta when she joins. And Luffy doing a Zoro, but i think it's anime only. Also Luffy did a Usopp "impression" when Nami pulled his nose inside of the snake in Skypiea and it got really long (also anime only)
@@nikett11 Luffy doing Chopper with Robin's help and this being what wins Usopp over to Robin joining this crew has always been one of my all-time favorites
To me brook's most saddest gag is him laughing at his own jokes every time as a way of him coping loneliness for 50 years. you sure know he talks to himself a lot those 50 years. and I can't begin to imagine how dark the times when he broke down during those years.
I feel like Luffy sending someone after Zoro "because he'll get lost if he goes alone" is a great way to keep the gag going without Zoro actually having to always get lost. That happened pretty recently in the manga too.
A couple of my favorites: 1 - Kanjuro's bad drawings, especially when they are climbing Zou 2 - Bartolomeo's ship not having a navigator and calling their grandmother for advice always makes me laugh
I think for Franky my favorite gag is: all of his bizarre body modifications that HE thinks are so cool, but turn out to be super silly (centaur mode, nipple lights, etc).
I'm reading the Manga and just got to Fishman Island. The nipple lights had me rolling on the floor. Funny thing was that scene I ended up using to explain to a friend just how good oda understands the characters and their dynamic. I couldn't give a crap about what the crew is doing because they bounce off each other so well. Basically, to me, it goes somewhere along the lines of: Luffy wants to do/make something happen. Zoro says yeah okay. Nami says no, stop, that's dumb as hell... but then again, money. Usopp says what no impossible, we're all going to die. Sanji's brain cells depend on how close he is to the opposite sex. Chopper's response depends entirely on how well he understands the situation. If he doesn't understand, then he'll be like yeah that sounds like fun. If he does understand, then he's right there with Usopp. Robin just kinda vibes, going with the general flow providing her beautiful godess wisdom. (I'm not a lesbian but damn she like a Greek goddess) Then you just have Franky, who is like a hyperactive little brother and uses his intelligence to grace the world with the glory that is nipple lights. Brook I haven't quite gotten a grasp on him yet other than the fact that he is yet another skeleton in my life that tells puns. It's quite alarming that I know of more than 3. Honestly I've thought of grouping characters based on intelligence. Luffy and Chopper are obviously dumb as hell. Zoro is close but ultimately he's more simple minded. Not to say luffy also doesn't have that tunnel vision. But Zoro's tunnel vision feels a bit more like apathy. Sanji, Nami, and Usopp are what I've dubbed the dream team. As far as strat-or-gizing goes, when they are together, they carry a lot of the groups' brain cells. Sanji just happens to lose all of his around wamen. Franky and Robin are probably in my mind the most intellectual of the group. A different kind of intelligence than the other 3, less intuitive. Though Franky's hyperactive emotional brain makes him come across as less intelligent. And once again, I have no idea where to place Brook, still feeling him out. If I had to rank my favorite characters. 1 Usopp 2 Zoro 3 Luffy 4 Nami 5 Robin 6 Chopper 7 Sanji 8 Franky 9 Brook Generally Usopp is my favorite but it has bounced around between him and zoro Several times over the years. (I've been reading one piece for years but I read a bunch of other things so I've just been slow. There was also a long period of time where I just stopped reading because I found skypia hard to get through for some reason. In the past several months though I've been steadily trucking along. Finishing homestuck for the first time in one go really makes one piece feel small as hell.) Overall it's hard for me to rank characters because my feeling for them are all really close. Like Sanji seems low ranked but that's because he's so close in my mind with the other characters. Ultimately though I really love sanji and he makes laugh a lot. He's got seniority from being one of the first crew members but damn my problem is I need something to be done with him. Though there's a lot of story and I'm sure he'll get his chance to shine. Anyway random essay done. I need to sleep.
There's so many amazing gags in the series its not hard to miss some of them but honestly I feel Zoro's bravery call while swinging in the Skypiea forest should've definitely been on the list.
Frankie has a couple solid bits, I really liked The thing where he couldn't work on his back so his strongest defensive mode is Just lying down, And he treats it like it's his ultimate technique And him getting all posh when he drinks tea and off-brand when he drinks Pepsi or whatever
Chopper being bad at hiding is badly underrated. As for the lack of a Franky gag, we don’t get too much of it in the manga but tea-powered Franky in the anime is too freaking good. His subdued “suuuuper” kills me.
Also when someone calls him pervert or hentai, him misunderstanding it as a complement for his transformation is an amazing gag and also him refusing to wear full pants is another one. 😂
I love when the crew learned that Garp was Luffy's Grandpa and both Luffy and Garp fell asleep while Garp was scolding him. 😂 Ace did this gag, so I hope Dragon and Sabo does too
I can't tell if it'd be funnier if Dragon was the only one of the family that didn't do the random narcolepsy gag because of how serious he is or if he also does the random narcolepsy gag BECAUSE he's so serious
My favorite thing about the Luffy Law dynamic is how Law slowly crumbles into their tomfoolery and shouts out something he normally wouldn't just say and he realizes "I'M BECOMING ONE OF THEM..."
Some of my favs: 1. The ongoing gag of Chopper and Luffy not recognizing their own crewmates (not recognizing sogeking and the fake strawhats). It's so annoying stupid but hilarious at the same time. 2. Zoro having the shittiest sense of direction and driving Sanji crazy bc of it 3. Franky's way of speaking always cracks me up. His "YO'S!!!" 4. Nami being the only one that can beat up the crew.
1. Not recognizing anyone when they wear a costume. example Davy Back Fight. Or more deeply insane levels of naiveity. 4. I love Namis use of armament Haki only when she is made about their perverted shit.
Zoro erasing Kokoro's existence from his memory never fails to make me laugh. He's just really good at clearing it out up there thats how he gets lost all the time.
Franky chilling with the old man during the timeskip and flipping the table and freaking out when he remembers he doesn't have time for this is an hilarious one. Also him pressing the self destruct button as soon as he sees it , causing the one piece equivalent of losing the library of alexandria
I love that joke because Chopper poisoned Hiriluk when he was a child because he thought a pirate symbol was good. Franky is a near 30-40 year old man and still fell for the same logic
Love in return to Sabaody Zoro calling everyone by the number for the order they arrived in and the whole fact that he got there first out of everyone was top tear for me on its own - I also love how annoyed it made Sanji "you didn't swim here, you have nothing to be proud of" (that and the fact that even though he made it first he still got on the wrong ship for fishman island)
My favorite gag is Nami's love of money. And her ability to break up fights between Luffy and Zoro. The funniest moment in the whole series for me was at Water 7, after they have the party. Nami goes to the safe to get some money to buy furniture for Sunny, and discovers the safe is virtually empty. Her meltdown afterwards is absolutely hilarious, especially when Luffy then asks Robin for some money to get some food. Absolute gold.
there was one gag in punk hazard where robin gets incredibly repulsed by franky in choppers body, and it was just so funny. would’ve loved to see it here. Also one that you missed was the crew seeing chopper as emergency food/none of them knowing he was a doctor when he joined the crew
Love the Dinosaur gag, but what pushes it ahead into one of my favourite Oda bits, is the fact that before all the Dinos were getting silly, he updated Page One's design between chapters slightly to be more inline with new fossils that were found. Going from that to wacky Dino times, just make them all the funnier.
I wonder if back in the void century they had dinosaurs pets running around, and we'll see all the wacky shit they can do whenever we get the void century flashback😂
Luffy being immune to Enel's ligntning was hilarious after the huge build up to the fight Also him turning off his brain to hit Enel was hilarious Boa being smitten by Luffy and Luffy alone gets me. The straw hats imitating each other Frankie turning himself into a weird centaur was hilarious and the reasoning made perfect sense. Can't remember which straw hats but they completely blocked out the memory of Kokoro as a mermaid because she was not the fantasised version also Kokoros mermaid reveal making everyone almost drown. Punning the song "Born to be wild"
one of my favourite Zoro gags was alabasta when the marines were literally on every corner giving him directions and then he gets to the bomb first and Sanji is mad that he found it first and asked how they got there and Zoro's just like "well the marines kept telling me to go North and I ended up up here" and Sanji yelling at him "North isn't the same as up"
The latest gag I really loved was Sanji mocking Zoro for having a bounty lower than him in Wano, I laughed so hard every time, I wish it stayed longer.
I loved the gag when Law was interrupted by the straw hats for lunch. and he went along with them instead of holding his ground and being stoic. Perfection
The dinosaur gag gets even better when you notice that Page One's tail changed mid arc as actual spinosaur tail fossils were found around the same time. Oda does indeed care about Dinosaur accuracy, he's just more than ready to sacrifice it for a good gag.
My favorite gag that you didn't mention was from Skypiea, which I think is generally slept on when it comes to hilarious moments. It's when Sanji, Luffy and Usopp choose their trial by going through a tunnel, and Luffy says "Maybe if you choose the wrong one, you just fall off of the Sky Island!" Usopp's like "Don't even joke about that!" and then immediately their boat actually does go over a waterfall. It's such a simple gag, but especially in the anime, Luffy saying "I thought we were all dead for sure!" while laughing his absolute ass off just cracks me up every time.
My favorite joke is probably just a dynamic but I loved the chemistry between Zoro, Chopper and Nami before they all leave the Merry. Chopper is just Zoro's little hypeman and is amazed when Zoro says he doesn't believe in a god, only for Nami to pray to that god and tells it just to take Zoro since she has nothing to with him
Robin's moments of just like sudden ultra-morbidity destroy me every single time. I don't know why. Also, Buggy can honestly just be counted as one long, awesome gag.
The "Ah, so Dinosaurs work that way?" gag cracks me up every time! Great tier list. And for a top-tier Franky gag you missed: the Franky Centaur being backwards and completely useless absolutely destroyed me. Really, every time his modifications turn out to be stupid and nonsensical, but that one really took the cake.
I laughed out loud when Usopp shows up on Enel's airship to save Nami but then he is the one asking for help and she gets mad for a second just for them to be laughing like they gave up on life already 😂
I love that one as well. Generally nami and usopp have such amazing chemistry! It’s like two gossipy aunts and I live for that and the running gag of them always being paired up like this with being the two weakest members of the crew and then joking about stuff like that, on numerous occasions, in wano as well. Soo good 🤌🏽
I think the biggest laugh ive ever had watching the anime was when kin'emon dressed up as Doffy. It literally came out of nowhere, on top of that the part where just has his arms spread wide open and just says "I am the young Master" absolutely killed me!!😂
I love the humour around Robin. You explained it perfectly. She is quiet and sweet. She is always so happy to just be a part of a group of friends who accept her (and at some point we learn HOW much does that mean to her). And I love that she is so charmingly childish and go-along because, again, she is jsut happy to be there. But then she wonders if the sea would turn read if they were all smashed against the ground simultaneously. It is the mixture of both, sweet and dark, that makes the perfect humour for me.
Have to give a special mention to the gag where Kaku is trying his absolute best to convince the rest of cp9 that, no, in fact he is not disappointed with his new devil fruit turning him into a giraffe. I love that you genuinely cannot tell if this is him trying to convince himself, or that he already actually coincidentally loved giraffes. Adding on to that, Kaku making up weird names for his moves in the middle of his fight with Zoro, makes Kaku one of the best gag characters in the series. We all love giraffes too Kaku.
More scenes at which I laughed way too hard: When Chopper joined, Sanji and Luffy didn't know that he was a doctor. Nami then asked why did they ask him to join and Sanji's answer of "Emergency Food". When we meet Crocus at Reverse Mountain for the first time and he interrupts the Strawhats multiple times. In Skypiea, Luffy's song (even funnier in the anime). When Sanji and Zoro have creative insults at each other. Zoro (and Luffy) getting lost but in a creative way, for example, they have to go North and they just assume North means to go to the coldest place (Syrup Village). Thanks for reminding me how funny One Piece is!
Recurring Nami gag is whenever the mention of treasure/money comes up she instantly turns around from her initial fear of the situation and her eyes change to Berry symbols.
It was only in a couple episodes, but I lost it each time Usopp bowed to the hiking bears on Drum Island--especially when he stopped mid-panic to do so and then went right back to freaking out. 😂
The Ryunosuke scenes are still my favorite gag in OP, possibly even my favorite moment of the manga so far. Especially watching Robin, how she starts out so endeared to him, joins in the rest of the crew in loudly cheering him on (which isn't typical for her), her being the first to notice that he's going to turn back into a drawing and crying, and then her placing a flower as a makeshift grave over the drawing. All of it just makes me bowl over laugh every single time I watch it, absolute Peak Piece
Oh so true, that was amazing. How invested everybody was in that awful drawing struggling up Zuneshas legs was hilarious.
Рік тому+37
One gag that made my stomach hurt from laughter was in Enies Lobby when Franky needed cola but Chopper kept bringing him the wrong stuff, all while that CP0 agent was locked up in the freezer. 😂
I have a soft spot for Nami’s recurring gag of weapon malfunctions. Her Alabasta fight is great in that it’s more a fight against Usopp’s unintuitive design than the actual enemy. Then later on you have the increasingly complicated relationship between her and Zeus. Idk I always find Nami fights refreshing and the gags play a part in that.
The Perona vs Ussop fight has to be one of the funniest things in manga to me. The intense lead up seeing that neither Luffy nor Zoro could resist, realizing Ussop is going to get a fight only to find out he's a hard counter to her abilities for such a ridiculous reason. It's topped off with Perona inner monologue, 'how could such a person exist..?' Her cheering him on and the ten ton hammer, oh man. Sensational.
One of my favourites is Karoo jumping into the freezing cold water in drum island and when the crew gets back to the ship, they find him frozen and Zoro laughs and says he must've slipped in. Then Chopper so helpfully tells everyone Karoo went to save some guy named Zoro. And Nami and Vivi lose it. I was hysterical.
One of my favorite somewhat recent gags is the samurai on Wano all using a single handkerchief as their disguises, and it working every time. The fact that even Kinemon sometimes just uses a single napkin as his disguise, even though he has the power to make whatever outfit he wants at will is hilarious to me. This gag is made even funnier because I watch one piece with a good friend of mine, and every time one of the samurai did this, one of us would act surprised and pretend like there's a completely new character on screen. Just an amazing joke all around
One of my favorite Zoro getting lost gags is in the Wano arc where they're trying to get away from Hawkins and come up to a fork in the road, and Zoro says to go left/right and Otsuru appears all of a sudden and says to go the opposite direction of what Zoro said. It really embodies the "If Zoro says to go one way, go the other direction" energy
I'm with you on Brooke. He's one of my favorite straw hats too. In part because of the reasons you stated, but also because of how brilliantly Oda finds ways to make this skeleton character so hilariously expressive and silly visually. Oda is a genius in so many ways. Also it was Camie (mermaid girl, not sure if I spelled her name right) Brooke asked for money; likely because she was a mermaid and therefore likely didn't have panties XD As for Franky, one gag of his I will never forget because it made me lmao was when he was in Chopper's body, Chopper gave him a rumble ball and told him not to take it unless they run into a dire emergency, and literally the next panel is Franky in monster point doing the Franky pose XD
Luffy just shoving back zombie into the ground is just perfect. i never saw and thought about something like that, i feel like this gag wont happen in any other show . Another Buggy gag is when Luffy use him as Human Shield against Mihawk in Marineford
Too many funny gags to go over, but I think Drum Island has a couple of the silliest and understated ones, those being "Bow to the Hiking Bear" and when Chopper is fighting outside the castle using his Brain Point technique to locate weaknesses and Luffy gets the most serious look of anticipation on his face and goes "He's gonna shoot a beam" because he wants to see the funny little reindeer guy shoot a beam soooo badly
I love the scene where Robin basically bribes her way onto the straw hat pirates by ecploiting each member's personality quirks. Usopp's instant turnaround from Luffy's chopper impression is the best part of it.
The Strawhats Ninja Reaction is so funny especially when Law tried his best to be stoic but still put in a ninja request, and his offhand reaction when he performs said request later on kills me
Yeah the zombie one is really great. One of my favorites is in Skypea. Usopp and Sanji are infiltrating the Maxim. Usopp looks at Sanji and goes "Are you willing to go that far for Nami's sake?" and Sanji answers "Yes, Usopp, for Nami's sake, I don't care if you die".
My favorites are when one Strawhat is laughing at the expense of another. Like when Sanji laughs at Zoro's response to getting hit by Perona's ghost, or when Brook laughs at Sanji's wanted poster reveal
Luffy shoving zombie back into the ground will always be the top gag 😂😂 One of my fav gag (i think underrated) is when Luffy’s team meet Cerberus in Thriller Bark. Luffy goes to it with smile on his face, knocks it out with a punch and then says “down”. Never fails to make me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
@@VinnieSajan no Luffy says “down”. When he tries to tame Cerberus and asks for the paw, he gets bitten. Luffy pats its head and when it lets go, Luffy punches the dog and says “down” when it’s already down. I had to go double check because your comment made me doubt myself 😅
The zombies on thriller bark was so funny, when luffy asked what are they doing, the zombies just said "just rotting and being buried n all, zombie stuff" was really funny
My favourite gag is how quickly Luffy and Zoro stuff up a perfectly organised plan the moment they try to implement it. The fact that Kinemon knew they would do this and involved this in his plan was perfect 16:44
Some of the funniest gags for me was when in Punk Hazard, Robin was disgusted by Franky talking with Chopper's face, saying he should stop talking. (Their consciousness switched thanks to Traguy) And also during Impel Down when Buggy's trying his best to manipulate Luffy into getting out and leaving him behind, but Luffy's just too kind and oblivious that he helps him out all the time when cornered.
Frankie centaur is hilarious thooo Also the old man in the whale saying “If you attack me, someone’s going to get hurt…” Zoro says, “Oh yeah? Who?” “Me” JUST SENDS ME everyTIME
Honestly, I think Chopper's best recurring gag is easily him calling for a doctor when someone is hurt.
I also love when he gets mad at Zoro for taking off the bandages
Yes!!!! I chuckle hard every time
Yeah, i forgot about this too, love it
You can’t forget when he says “I don’t need your praise you bastard” while blushing and swaying from happiness.
He jumping after Luffy when they fell to the sea.
Also that time he was so scared of Nami that he jumped into the sea.
Finally, the time when he was about to say that Zoro was trapped inside a chimney 😂
"so he's a shipwright who's coating frankie's brother" will always be funny to me. The dead stare and thumbs up from franky is legendary
Franky giving him a thumbs-up while saying "close enough!" is top tier.
@@MIrfanPerdana He knows who his captain is
what fucking kills me about that joke is it might be foreshadowing franky uploading his consciousness to the sunny (also foreshadowed by frankys post wano bounty poster) or the sunny's klabautermann thinking of franky as a brother, the second layer of the joke being that franky would actually be the sunny's dad instead of brother

One of my favorites is a Franky gag, where when in his mech suits he'll announce a big attack, and then just pop out of the mech and do it himself.
And the homing missiles where he just chase people😂
My favorite one was when he and Brook were just singing while crashing on Big Mom.

And Law's all disappointed when Raizo says he can't do Shadow Clone justu
That and "I don't like bread" moment, the strawhat dynamics are getting to him
Yeah I really like when a serious or stoic character just starts acting out of character and starts acting silly or fanboying. Law fanboying over Stealth Black and Zoro laughing at Pica's voice are good examples of this and they are great. Law has quite a few of these moments and it shows that he has a childish side to him underneath his serious persona.
Law is a weeb. He knows so much about the Germa 66 comics too.
Men do love ninja.

YES! This is probably my favorite gag as well
This always makes me laugh.
When he says to Zoro that he has to introduce himself first, but he introduces himself giving details like his blood type.
That whole reverse mountain interaction with crocus had so many good tip tier gags.

Thisss
Sure, almost if not all the strawhats undertand Luffys thought process (or lack there of) really really well, like when Franky tell hims "close enough" when Luffy tries to repeat the coating explanation, but Robin just goes a level beyond that, she's like a dictionary Luffy-common sense/common sense-Luffy
luffy, robin, law dynamics are hilarious (any combination of them)
I think Franky's gag of sobbing over sad stuff is pretty golden.
THISSS MAN SPEAK UP MORE :D
I don't care if anyone else thinks it's overdone, I love it every single time lol
Me and my friend, who had lost her father years earlier were talking about how we would get along with the Strawhats, she said "Well I CERTAINLY shouldn't tell him MY backstory!" And then mimed Franky playing his guitar. 😢😂❤
Franky is such a sweetheart 😢
Also him singing the sniper king song to himself at all times was a great gag

This along with his requests when meeting Raizo are too tier comedic moments 😅😂 (although I'm biased bc I love Law)
I think Brook's "may I see your panties" gag peaked on the time skip with the cultists. Him finally getting someone to show their panties, but missing it because the tribe follows suit causing him to look away, is exquisite irony. After that point, the joke died.
I also really liked it because a bunch of guys also showed their underwear no questions asked
No way, the best part is when he asked BIG MOM to see her panties!
Naaahhh.... I thought so too, but when he called Big Mom, "Ojou-chan" and asked to see her panties... that shit rolled me.
The "rude skeleton jokes" being reduced to only the panties line sucks. I miss when he would rummage through someone's fridge or upon meeting one lady, he didn't ask to see panties- he asked to borrow money 😂
Luffy using Arlong's teeth while everyone was saying that's super unsanitary and him not caring is a small moment I love.

That was amazing! Although I loved his other moment of trolling Arlong even more. One when Arlong asks "What the difference between them is". And Luffy, looking 100% serious, replies "Noses". That killed me in the best way 😂
@@JotoheKian I kinda consider them in the same breath considering it was both against Arlong during the fight. That scene was a very Luffy response.
I adore this gag, I laugh every time I see it
Yes :D
Luffy's tone when he says it too lol
The funny thing is, where would the fourth sword go!? He insulted zoro all right😂
One of the more underrated gags is when all of the crew are insulting Zoro one by one, Luffy calls him “Three sword style” then usopp tells him that’s not an insult, so luffy instantly corrects himself to “four sword style” with the best delivery ever just to further annoy usopp who then goes on a tangent.
To me the funniest moment is when they meet Crocus inside Laboon. The dramatic music and close-ups, him just sitting down and reading the newspaper, saying someone's gonna die and then saying it's him, telling Zoro to intorduce himself and then interrupting him. Peak comedy.
I still regularly watch that back. It's so fucking funny even now.
That episode had the best camera work in the series (so far. Only 517ep into the anime so far.)
With the Perona scene, the only thing I find funnier is her trying to cheer him up moments later.
In general Perona cheering on the strawhats is funny...
Remember Zoro searching his swords in the castle
That felt like they were genuinely being sympathetic to him when her and the ghosts went "hang in there"
Ikr it feels so gebuibe, it's like she's so immensively apalled by it ahe actually worries and tries to cheer up

My favorite Perona joke is, when usopp doing all strong, but slowly fading away. The moment perona realized what's going on is just so good ^^
Franky telling Luffy not to give his real name only for him to immediately be asked his name and go “Lu-“ is the perfect gag
I love the imitation of other crew members by a member of the crew. They are funny moments that I still think of.

@@allursinsand Alabasta
Oh yes! And Ussop's impression of Crocodrile, never gets old!
The reason why the Zombie gag is so funny is because its so layered
1. It comes at a point where tension has been rising, and the contrast of the gag just hits harder
2. The gag itself
3. The zombies reaction
4. Luffy thinking its an old man with wounds
5. The fact that even though he thought this, HE STILL SHOVED HIM BACK DOWN
I really like Zoro's tarzan yell in Skypia. Also, Kaku being teased about Giraffes was pretty funny, too.

The one that consistently kills me is Zoro calling Sanji the prince of dumbass kingdom in the ball game, I think the delivery is just perfect.
The anime's voice acting and delivery definitely elevates their bickering so much.

adjacent to the "Traffy's on my crew now!" gag, I really adore the bit that happened like twice in Punk Hazard where Law tells the crew that he and Luffy are in a pirate alliance, and they pull him aside, and quietly explain "look, I don't know what you expect an alliance to be like, but you're not gonna be getting that from Luffy, ok? he's... gonna be doing this his own way" 😂

I feel like Luffy sending someone after Zoro "because he'll get lost if he goes alone" is a great way to keep the gag going without Zoro actually having to always get lost. That happened pretty recently in the manga too.

RIP RYONOSUKE!!!
Basically, to me, it goes somewhere along the lines of:
Luffy wants to do/make something happen.
(I'm not a lesbian but damn she like a Greek goddess)
Then you just have Franky, who is like a hyperactive little brother and uses his intelligence to grace the world with the glory that is nipple lights.
1 Usopp
2 Zoro
3 Luffy
4 Nami
5 Robin
6 Chopper
7 Sanji
8 Franky
9 Brook
Generally Usopp is my favorite but it has bounced around between him and zoro Several times over the years. (I've been reading one piece for years but I read a bunch of other things so I've just been slow. There was also a long period of time where I just stopped reading because I found skypia hard to get through for some reason. In the past several months though I've been steadily trucking along. Finishing homestuck for the first time in one go really makes one piece feel small as hell.)
Overall it's hard for me to rank characters because my feeling for them are all really close.
Bro his search missile gag in Enies Lobby was top tier.
I absolutely love the nipple lights joke because it makes genderbending even funnier for Franky.
There's so many amazing gags in the series its not hard to miss some of them but honestly I feel Zoro's bravery call while swinging in the Skypiea forest should've definitely been on the list.

Zoros gags are the best lol
Him smugly saying to Nami when she nearly died doing it, "It's because you didn't do the call"
Frankie has a couple solid bits, I really liked The thing where he couldn't work on his back so his strongest defensive mode is Just lying down, And he treats it like it's his ultimate technique
And him getting all posh when he drinks tea and off-brand when he drinks Pepsi or whatever
His best and most common used is General Franky gag, men loves robot
The time in enies lobby when chopper just feeds franky a bunch of different drinks to see how he will act.
Just for the laugh Brook had in the anime when he saw Duval, Sanji's bounty poster gag is among my absolute favorites!

Brook doing the 45 degrees move is my favourite, also skull jokes.

My favorite thing about the Luffy Law dynamic is how Law slowly crumbles into their tomfoolery and shouts out something he normally wouldn't just say and he realizes "I'M BECOMING ONE OF THEM..."
Some of my favs:
1. The ongoing gag of Chopper and Luffy not recognizing their own crewmates (not recognizing sogeking and the fake strawhats). It's so annoying stupid but hilarious at the same time.
2. Zoro having the shittiest sense of direction and driving Sanji crazy bc of it
3. Franky's way of speaking always cracks me up. His "YO'S!!!"
4. Nami being the only one that can beat up the crew.
1. Not recognizing anyone when they wear a costume. example Davy Back Fight. Or more deeply insane levels of naiveity.
4. I love Namis use of armament Haki only when she is made about their perverted shit.
So this is the audience that enjoys the Luffy abuse gag. No wonder Oda doesn't take it out.
Zoro erasing Kokoro's existence from his memory never fails to make me laugh. He's just really good at clearing it out up there thats how he gets lost all the time.
Uncannon explanation: He needs less brain and more muscle in his head, so jaw can keep up with three sword style.
Franky chilling with the old man during the timeskip and flipping the table and freaking out when he remembers he doesn't have time for this is an hilarious one.
Also him pressing the self destruct button as soon as he sees it , causing the one piece equivalent of losing the library of alexandria
I think there is a considerably more appropriate One Piece equivalent of losing the Library of Alexandria. But I see the connection.
"Oh, a pirate symbol" *cut to the lab exploding*
“As your captain I advise you to be more careful about how you use our finances”
“It all goes toward feeding you!”
there was one gag in punk hazard where robin gets incredibly repulsed by franky in choppers body, and it was just so funny. would’ve loved to see it here.

The latest gag I really loved was Sanji mocking Zoro for having a bounty lower than him in Wano, I laughed so hard every time, I wish it stayed longer.
And now Zoro keeps calling him "The Fourth" in Egghead lol
I wasnt biased at first, but after all the Zoro glazin im now fully on Sanji team. I hate zoro fans sadly
Wait that’s awesome
My favorite gag that you didn't mention was from Skypiea, which I think is generally slept on when it comes to hilarious moments.
It's when Sanji, Luffy and Usopp choose their trial by going through a tunnel, and Luffy says "Maybe if you choose the wrong one, you just fall off of the Sky Island!"
Usopp's like "Don't even joke about that!" and then immediately their boat actually does go over a waterfall.
It's such a simple gag, but especially in the anime, Luffy saying "I thought we were all dead for sure!" while laughing his absolute ass off just cracks me up every time.

One of my favourite gags is when Bartolomeo sees Luffy exactly the same way that Hancock does. Absolutely floored me.
I laughed out loud when Usopp shows up on Enel's airship to save Nami but then he is the one asking for help and she gets mad for a second just for them to be laughing like they gave up on life already 😂

"Leave every enemy who is runny away to us"
I love that one as well. Generally nami and usopp have such amazing chemistry! It’s like two gossipy aunts and I live for that and the running gag of them always being paired up like this with being the two weakest members of the crew and then joking about stuff like that, on numerous occasions, in wano as well. Soo good 🤌🏽
In Wano when they are discussing being tortured and they are both "I'd last 3 seconds no way am I keeping quiet"
Kinemon not realizing he just executed a cunning plan by accident is one of my favorite panels in the entire manga. I busted a gut
the entire existence of sniper king, and his stupid little theme song, also, franky's playing guitar when he's feeling dramatic
Then zoro asking if Enies lobby is a zoo 😂
"Oh no it's like a pasta machine.... Pasta Machine!"
"Don't act like you did that on purpose!!!"
More scenes at which I laughed way too hard:
When Chopper joined, Sanji and Luffy didn't know that he was a doctor.
I LOVE THIS ONE
Also him and Luffy thinking that the heavy woman is a hiking bear and bowing to her
Zoro deleting his memories of Kokoro when meet Camie and stating it his first time meeting a mermaid is one of my fav
One of my favorites is when Zoro entered a Navy building, grabbed three brooms and someone saw him and yelled "He's cleaning our floor, THAT FIEND"
Haven't finished the video yet but I love when Franky gets desperately sad when he listens to a tragic back story, Franky is such a gem
The Perona vs Ussop fight has to be one of the funniest things in manga to me. The intense lead up seeing that neither Luffy nor Zoro could resist, realizing Ussop is going to get a fight only to find out he's a hard counter to her abilities for such a ridiculous reason. It's topped off with Perona inner monologue, 'how could such a person exist..?'
Her cheering him on and the ten ton hammer, oh man.
Also it was Camie (mermaid girl, not sure if I spelled her name right) Brooke asked for money; likely because she was a mermaid and therefore likely didn't have panties XD
As for Franky, one gag of his I will never forget because it made me lmao was when he was in Chopper's body, Chopper gave him a rumble ball and told him not to take it unless they run into a dire emergency, and literally the next panel is Franky in monster point doing the Franky pose XD
This probably doesn't appeal to everyone, but Luffy asking "Do you poop?" just cracks me up. Especially when Camie starts to answer.
Luffy shoving zombie back into the ground will always be the top gag 😂😂
One of my fav gag (i think underrated) is when Luffy’s team meet Cerberus in Thriller Bark. Luffy goes to it with smile on his face, knocks it out with a punch and then says “down”. Never fails to make me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
I er think it was "shake" not down.
@MasalaMan he does say down. I just got past that scene in a rewatch
The fact that Kinemon knew they would do this and involved this in his plan was perfect 16:44
sanji nosebleed is underrated, one of the strongest OP characters almost dies because he touches real boobs after 2 years on lgbtq island
I also loved Franky's changing personalities in Enies Lobby when chopper kept giving him the wrong drink, and the effect it had on his hair
I wish they did more of that like if franky is given sake he turns into a salaryman after work
Also him noticing and giving frank other things because curiousity. And Franky notoced and got angry lol
Zoro and sanji’s sibling rivalry is THE SINGLE GREATEST SIBLING REPRESENTATION EVER
I completely agree with you, but my brother says that's a load of garbage!
Some of the funniest gags for me was when in Punk Hazard, Robin was disgusted by Franky talking with Chopper's face, saying he should stop talking. (Their consciousness switched thanks to Traguy)
And also during Impel Down when Buggy's trying his best to manipulate Luffy into getting out and leaving him behind, but Luffy's just too kind and oblivious that he helps him out all the time when cornered.
Rename the last tier to "Gags not made for my tastes" cause a lot of people like those kind of gags, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Frankie centaur is hilarious thooo
Also the old man in the whale saying “If you attack me, someone’s going to get hurt…”
Zoro says, “Oh yeah? Who?”
“Me” JUST SENDS ME everyTIME
