14:40 is me exactly. I'd pay for one, perhaps 2 services. But today I'm just gonna pirate all my material (except the small music creators I listen to, support Bandcamp creators!!) Also by pirating I get everything in 4K surround which streaming services only might do reliably once things reconsilidate and/or US internet stops being trash for 99% of the population
Surprised you didn't mention the whole recent HBOmax debacle -- not directly anime-related, but since we're talking about media preservation and the fickle whims of capitalists and giant media conglomerates... It does feel like we're at a tipping point, in a cultural reexamination of how we get and keep our media.
In hindsight I should have added a bit in about that but I'd already edited and uploaded this when that started going down. I don't think this will be the last time I talk about the state of the streaming industry though and unfortunately I don't think the HBOmax incident will be the last of it's kind -- perhaps I'll cover that in a separate video.
I bought crunchyroll Premium after the merge, But its frustrating Not beeing able to watch some of the older Anime becouse they are Not available in my country... I Always watched Anime together with my Friends.... But now its harder
Funimation, Amazon, Animelab, and now Rightstuf have all pulled Interspecies Reviewers. Can the show ever catch a break? (And that's not even going into the JP TV stations that have pulled it)
I love second hand anime dvds, my favourite ones are done by Manga UK for ovas or movies from 80s and 90s. Appleseed (1988), Metal Skin Panic Madox-01 and Macross Plus I discovered on dvd they were epic, don't think are on any streaming service. Also for ages End of Evangelion was only on dvd and the poster that came with it was such a nice surprise. For me some of the english dubs are quite unique as well which is great, like I was disappointed when Eva on Netflix was redubbed, like mostly I watch sub but the charm from some of the english voice acting is awesome. Id be really interested to hear what you picked up on dvd :D
I've been trying to get back into 80s and 90s OVAs lately but trying to find some of them is impossible! Rightstuf has a ton of blu rays of certain OVA titles but they're getting more and more expensive over time! (Though I suppose it's worth it.) I actually managed to pick up NGE and the rebuild movies for a fairly reasonable price which I was over the moon with because I honestly thought they were locked in Netflix jail forever at this point!
Botched my DVD/Blu collection. Have been DL what I want off course must be full uncut only. Trying to get original Dragonball Z movie dvds. I have the original Broly trilogy boxset on DVD not the reissue one the original boxset. Too have bunch off stuff on couple USB sticks that can be easily ported on to your PS3.....Yep.

It's a real shame that it's becoming more difficult! I'm trying to remain optimistic but I do feel like we're moving backwards in regards to streaming

I feel like at this point Interspecies Reviewers is going to reach legend status partially based off of how many times it's been cancelled!
@@heysaladdaze well Rightstuf didn't completely cancel it. The manga is still on sale.
