I bought these from a US based barefoot shoe shop (I live within the US) so it saved me from paying extra for shipping costs, I bought this for my mom, I’m hoping she likes them! If not, thankfully we wear the same size shoe so I can definitely just keep them! I bought a pair of Belenka Rebels and I love them, once they’re on I forget I’m wearing them, they’re very comfortable and flexible
I recommend any Tabi socks it goes half the way not like toe socks which are cumbersome to wear to take off, tabi are rather fast to put on and off and comfortable I got mine from tabiji from nara, japan while on travel for about 1.2$ each tried to ship some afterwards but shipping was insane
Great review - I love Be Lenka shoes! I don’t understand why you’d include VAT and customs fees as a con/negative…? It’s got nothing to do with the shoe or the brand, but (put very simply) with your government 😄 … we have the same here in Norway. It makes everything so expensive 😮
I think the custom fees need to be taken into account when the shoe is already at the high end and customs added another third on top. I know it has nothing to do with the brand but it will still impact people purchasing the shoes from the UK.
Exactly my thought. It's ridiculous to drop points for the import tax that their local government imposes. Unless the review was UK-only focused, but I doubt it
I've been looking at Be Lenka, but I just can't help but think of the import taxes. I got some Xero shoes imported into Canada and even that was like $27 on top of the shipping costs already. Even with their summer sale going on right now, I just don't know if it's worth the extra costs to ship them across the Atlantic. I've seen like one or two Canadian online stores with some shoes, but they don't have what I'm looking for. 👎
@@PeteOnPurpose I've never heard anyone talk about them, I only just learned of them recently. There's a website I found called Cool East Market, and they do have a handful of shoes, a couple models from Xero, Vivo, Lems, etc. but that's about it.
Same situation here, I'm living in Canada (Toronto) and also interested in this exact model - BELENKAS Stride, I almost bought it but I stumbled on this video and didn't know the imported fee exists, I know there's a store (Cool East Market) in downtown Toronto has Belankas shoes but they're closing right now and they will open after the summer sale :(

Yes the import taxes are crazy. Is there no where in Canada where you can buy barefoot shoes? I assumed they would be popular there for some reason?

Well at least there is a few models, I would suggest Xero for your first pair they are super comfy or at least the ones I had were.
@@PeteOnPurpose Yessir! Got the white Dillons on the way! too bad I imported them before finding out about the 3rd party retailer. XD

Not really, I think there so comfy. My feet have been a little warm on super hot days with them on but my socks may just be too thick?
