Wow, I've watched as many hand drop inductions as I can find on UA-cam and this is THE BEST explanatory video of this technique I've found so far. Melissa is an extremely effective communicator and a natural teacher. So many instructors and so few teachers. Thank you for posting this.

What Thermaldog doesn't understand is that hypnosis is not the therapy, that happens when the client is in trance. And most normal humans are born with the amazing capacity to go into trance to reframe situations and restore our core strengths. Hypnosis is only a set of techniques to access that state, and Melissa is a superb practitioner and teacher.

what I understand from the obvious is that this is fake and Melissa is a fraud. No one 'drops' into a deep trance on command, this is a propaganda piece for her 'practice'...to dupe more people out of their money.

thermaldog what is your understanding of hypnosis and trance may I ask? Looks like a classic induction to me.

the next time i say sleep you can go so much deeper quickly and easily, all i have to do is to drop your hand and say sleep, and your unconscious mind will take so much deeper quickly and easily. Look at me right here, and i want you to start imagining that it's very late at night, and you start getting that drowsy feeling of wanting to go get some sleep, there you ( as she shows the signs).
when i drop my hand and say sleep, your unconscious mind will take you down into a nice comfortable space, just go with it , it feels really good. Know that you're still the one in control and you can still choose not to go but if you want to, let's go. Keep pressing, that's right. And SLEEP as you goo deeper feeling even better than you did a few moments ago...

I liked that pre-talk thing: "your subconscious mind will take you down to a NICE and CONFORTABLE space"

Actually "unconscious" mind, not subconscious anymore. To avoid the image that the unconscious mind is "under" the conscious.

Melissa, I always record client sessions for them to listen to in between sessions. This type of induction would not be good on a recording. Any suggestions? Do you record sessions?

lol, i still cant understand how/why so many people believe this SCAM! quite frustrating knowing that these fraudsters take money from folk and get away with it under the guise of 'therapy'.

Mmm. Yeah, to be totally honest, I don't think many hypnotists are scam artists. They might genuinely believe this is working, and the reason for that is because the people that will book in with them believe or want to believe, and then.. it works! Like... I don't believe in hypnosis per se, but the mind's powerful ability to convince itself of something.

    • @drinkbleach4907

Chelsea Woods no they believe it because its backed by science and multiple studies, hypnosis has been recognized as a legitimate field of medican for nearly 50 years.
The reason it struggles so much to be believed by the average person is becuase of the contless misconceptions created by movies and TV on the subject

Generally, most hypnosis is only a suggestion based therapy. It is all in your own mind. It is helpful to plenty of people and as a psych student myself, many people I have attempted this with have had great results. No, it's not a scam. Just powerful suggestion on a willing mind.

The Protagonist Lol. Please, provide this evidence - because I have seen nothing yet to convince me that any credible evidence _won't_ laced with the disclaimer that it works only as a suggestion of the mind, as I've stated.
I've listened to hypnosis based recordings, which convinced me my hand couldn't move. However, a more skeptical individual is likely to not have any success with hypnotism because of that very skepticism.
"Considered a legitimate field of medicine". Not by doctors or medics, that's for sure!

According to wikipedia its efficacy has been both discarded and acknowledged multiple times through the history of science.
Hard to say what to believe. Perhaps there is some change in brain activity for a person who fully "goes with it" and "accepts" the suggestion as you suggest(lol).
Alot of people claim to have experienced specific states of conscioussness related to hypnosis but i doubt that hypno-enthusiasts truly understand what they are doing, and exactly what practical impact it has on your life seems to be a debated topic.
Kindof like how science have confirmed certain states of conscioussness with Buddhist meditators and changes in brain over time, yet the buddhists dont know shit about neurosciences or prefontal cortexes, theyre still talking about magic and demons (not all ofc) but theyre competent meditators.
