  • Hello all, and welcome back to another video!
Continuing our tour of Seattle-area railroads, we pay a visit to the rail lines of downtown Seattle. The SoDo neighborhood (south of downtown) is bisected by the BNSF Seattle Subdivision. This heavy mainline sees dozens of trains a day running between Seattle and Vancouver. In addition to BNSF freight trains, Union Pacific has trackage rights from Argo Yard in SoDo the entire way down the line. Amtrak operates the Coast Starlight and Empire Builder trains out of King Street Station in downtown, along with the Amtrak Cascades regional service to Portland and Eugene. Sounder operates Monday-Friday commuter service north and south, adding even more traffic to this busy mainline.
In this video, we'll see a wide variety of passenger and freight trains around the Emerald City. We'll see new General Electric behemoths pull freights with 40 year old EMDs, engine moves at South Seattle, local and passenger action along the Seattle Waterfront, and much more.
Thank you for watching! Be sure to like, share, subscribe, and comment if you enjoyed the video.
