  • The Suzuki VS800 is often a cruiser that gets easily dismissed. And sadly, a lot of times it gets dismissed even when compared to lesser rivals... So in this video I try to show you why owning one could actually be a wise decission...

    Just last week on Apr 23 I got a 2001 vs800 and it is immaculate. 100% stock, only additions are saddlebags and a half-windshield. I'm in love, handles phenomenally, super comfy and neutral is really easy to find. Excellent bike

    VS 800 all the way boys. Picked up a 92 in carribean blue for $450usd. I've dropped around $3k on the bike since, including a new motor with 450 miles on it after I blew the connecting rod on the front cylinder. Old motor had 25k miles on it. Love the pipes on the bike in the video, definitely jealous! I'll post a video of mine this spring after I'm done painting it. Buddies want me to get a sportster, screw that!!!

      @@oliviercapdevielle291 definitely a Sportster vibe either way🤘🏼 but the 1400s are nice starts out with 72hp 83lbs of torque and with stage 2 kit for the carbs, pod filters, and exhaust will turn out 125hp

      Stock, the 800 beats out its larger 1400 brother in almost every way, as long as you are below average height. I chose a 1400 to keep in Vegas for five years when I used to spend a week per month there. It was chromed out and had a plum ghost flame paint job. It was a great choice for cruising the Strip. But it had fair to poor handling. Now that I stay close to the Blue Ridge Mountains I tried an 800 and was blown away with its good twisty road handling and excellent slow speed handling. I have a 96 with the buck horn pull back handlebars, and recently added a 2001 with milder cruiser handlebars. I still can't believe I ignored these VS800 bikes all these years because of my disappointing experience with the 1400.

    I’ve had 2 vs800s, a 06’ and a one owner mint condition 96’. After I sold my 06’ I bought a Harley super glide and tbh I loved the Suzuki way more. Hence why I bought my 96’. The biggest drawback is the lack of parts and aftermarket support. I’m not sure what’s available overseas but in America there’s virtually no options for parts.

    • @KRANKiT
      @KRANKiT  3 роки тому +1

      In Europe it’s not too bad ... but in the US I imagine finding Harley parts at every street corner, so in comparison Suzuki is probably a little more lackluster.

    i got a 97 Marauder or VZ800. love it. bought it new in 97. only owner. still ride it. ive worn everything out but the engine. tough and durable and more so reliable. it needs fork seals , tires , brakes and tank repair . but still runs like a champ! the Marauder came with a chain drive and i got sick of it after years of chain crap and 7 changes of sprokets and chains. it took a paint scraper and sand blaster to remove the years of chain sludge.

      I’m looking to buy an 800 or a 1400. Which would you say is better? The 1400 has more torque but everyone says the 800 is more fun. Price for a 1400 is easily €1000 more than an 800 over here.

    • @hannuhanhi183
      @hannuhanhi183 Місяць тому +1

      @@brb653 There are pros and cons in both. VS1400 is heavier and bulkier to handle. It really feels like a big bike. 800 is lighter and easier to handle. The best way to find out is to try them both which one you like more. One addition to this, if you are not riding alone then the 1400 might be more suitable. Cheers.
