I’ve been a student of the game for 25 years, I finally acquired my own table, that said, your videos have helped to take my game to the next level. Never to old to learn. 😊
@@FXBilliards Dude, no worries at all! I’m just happy to be a part of the FXB community. I’m free whenever, good sir. Thanks as always for your hard work and entertainment. 🤟
Just a short note of appreciation. As you know there are quite a few venues for pool tips and abbreviated lessons . Your approach, knowledge, technique and demeanor is just what is needed. You do more for the advancement of pool than anyone I have seen. Others are good but you are definitely cut above. I know it takes treasure, and time to put together a viewable video. I assure you they are of value to me and meny others like me. By the way did you go to Villanova?Again thanks.
I truly appreciate your comments. I did not go to Villanova, but I used to go there to play basketball in the gym with guys on the team back in the day. And I played pool on campus.
I thought so. You mentioned the area so I assumed you had ties in Philadelphia. I worked at. KYW-tv earlier in life I went to school in Philadelphia. I loved the city I knew, but those days are gone and the city now days is not fairing so well. Again thanks for your expertise. A education with entertainment….who’d a thought?
Cool. Now I bounce between Chester County and New Castle County, but I am still in the City a lot. If you have not seen North Philly lately, (especially North Broad) you should check out. The Temple U area. is looking pretty good. Especially for North Philly: which is where I grew up. (18th and Diamond) Still some crime in the area, but it does not make the top 10 list like Detroit, Chicago, Memphis etc. They even have luxury apartments in North Philly now. I would move back to the city f it was not for city wage tax and the fact that I don't think my wife is streetwise enough to live in the city.
thank you Brian Mitchell all the videos are very informative, as a youngster trying to learn how to play a game I loved had no training, but being a left handed kid who had another friend who was also left handed, I told my friend it would be beneficial to learn how to play right handed due to the fact we are living in a right hand dominate world he scoffed at me as I struggled to keep my right arm from going all over the place while my friend laughed at me and continued to whip me, However I finally got control of my Right hand shooting and the next time I played I ran out the rack Right handed Laughed at him and never let him forget it. I played at a Place called the Hungry Stick in Clairemont in San Diego in the the late 70's early 80's
I watched your video 3 years ago and subscribed. I must say that your effort pay off. Look at the number of subscribers 😮 I wish you all the best from Vietnam. Learned a lot from u
Thank you, Bryan, for all your info. You have taught me a lot about this game. I'm in an APA and a USAPL league here in Lexington, Ky. I love watching your videos. I wish I could get some 1 on 1 lessons, but you have helped my game out soooo much. and my team and I won the Central kentucky 8 ball championship and are going to Vegas in August to play in the APA world qualifier. I want to thank you for helping my game out.
Only just found this channel a week ago or so and i would just like to say ur content is really fantastic and i love how u have a simple way of explaining what you are doing and play so smoothly. Il keep these tips in mind while playing in New Zealand
You are the best pool teacher on UA-cam. Not just for your video content (which is solid), but as far as being easy to watch and listen to. Definitely helps me retain it when I am not falling asleep lol.
Thanks for sharing buddy. Sometimes I play great position and other times my brain is a little off. I remember in my 20s I could look at the table for 3 seconds and see everything and every possible outcome lol. Life happens I guess 👍🎱👍
Thanks Bryan, you make it less intimidating when it's broken down into a section of the table, 2, 3, or 4 balls, rather than trying to see a 7 ball run out, then getting position on the 8. Hope things settle down for you, saw in a reply you're dealing with stuff at the moment.
Today at league I kept leaving myself off the rail which I'm decent at those shots but I keep hearing you say come off the rail in lot of shots where I should havw done that was the difference between me sinking the eight or not so I know what I'm practicing this week and thats coming off the rail for better position thanks Bryan much appeciated
Thank you for posting this. I've always struggled in this area, and you made it look very simple, like a good teacher should. You have a unique set of skills, Sir.
So well explained Bryan. I watched this yesterday, and today watched US Open 8-ball semi-finals. Every time Fedor was up I could pick out the triangles as you explained, and then watched Fedor shoot them, just as I had picked out. I always struggled with patterns, and your way breaks it down to easily understood levels. I'm sure it's going to push me to a higher level if I apply this triangle method. Thanks so much!
As someone who grew up loving to play chess and being good at math and angles this sort of thing came natural to me. I had to get my body to catch up with my mind though and that’s definitely still a work in progress lol I am beating guys who are ranked quite a bit ahead of me now and your videos have helped tremendously. Now if I could only get a decent draw shot down I’d be deadly 😂 Thanks again for the awesome content Brian, keep up the great work!
"Nothing longer than a 4' shot" Reminds me of the old story where a Pool Player and his friend, Not a Pool Player, watch a game of 8 ball. The pro breaks and runs out, never having a shot longer than 3'. The audience claps loudly. NPP says "Why are they clapping ? He never had to make a hard shot!" PP responds, "Yes, exactly." A great pattern leaves you naturally on the next short shot. A good one makes you work a little more.
Yes it’s funny how people that don’t know anything about Pool think a good player is constantly making difficult shots. If you’re constantly taking and difficult shot, you’re not what we called a good player. That story is always a good example of that point Thank you for watching and thanks for your comments.
Hey Bryan. I’ve been playing consistently for a little over 2 years now. Have been practicing a lot. Became a APA 6 in 9 ball and APA 5 in 8 ball, but I have gotten to the stage where I am overthinking position and maybe getting too aggressive. Could you do a video on tips to simplify your game? Thanks! Love the videos
Hello, I have a question I recently bought 8 foot pool table slate. Although in my league play they use 7ft valleys, my question is the more I play on my 8ft Will my play get better on a 7ft table??? Please help thanks 🙏
The 8 will make you better on the 7 - but the balls tend to be more cluttered up on a 7 foot table. That said, some of your layouts might play differently.
I’ve been a student of the game for 25 years, I finally acquired my own table, that said, your videos have helped to take my game to the next level. Never to old to learn. 😊
Glad to help!
Every time Bryan uploads I have the itch to go shoot some stick and practice new routines. Man I love pool. You can never learn enough about the game.
Every time I see your comments I’m reminded that I owe you a phone call. I am so sorry. I’m about 10 calls backed up. Crazy family shit going on.

Great advice, thanks!

The more I play 9ball and straight pool the more I realize how hard can be 8 ball.
