How superb was she? We maybe forget Marisa because of Pesci but what an absolutely virtuoso comedy performance. Sassy, sexy, cute, endearing and super smart. What a character and Marisa fully totally deserved that Oscar.
Judge: She’s your witness! Why are you asking to declare her a hostile witness? Vinnie: She’s my fiancé. Judge: Oh. Well now I can understand the hostility.
I love Marissa Tome. That movie made me fall on love with her. She kept me cracking up the entire movie. She delivered her lines like no one else could. Plus it doesn't hurt that she's also easy on the eyes.
It's really really hard to upstage Joe Pesci. Ever. He's tangoed with Robert DeNiro, Ray Liotta, Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Al Pacino typically at the height of their careers, in their best films, and he outdances them everytime. Whether it's drama, comedy or just plain acting. Marisa Tomei? Matches him blow for blow, pound for pound, and you're eating out of her hand the whole movie and you can even see Pesci cracking, an insurmountable feat. Whether it be Pesci's personality or acting talent, you never see him crack a smile without it being in the cards - but Marisa Tomei turns him so hard you see him budging and yet Tomei? Always on her marks, lands every line, it doesn't even feel like dialogue. I know this is a movie. I know it had to have a script. I DO NOT believe you could write this, I am compelled to believe they just wrangled Tomei on set and said "GO" because it feels so absolutely organic the whole time. And this is a 90's movie, immersion wasn't their agenda, there's campy music - yet when she goes off, it just lights up the whole scene. Great movie.
It's a great comedy and really well cast. Fred Gwynne, Maury Chaykin, Lane Smith, Bruce McGill...plus all the single scene actors were fucking gold. But, none of it matters without Marissa Tomei. She is the hinge on the whole thing.
Love this movie. She's very intelligent, charismatic and sarcastically funny. She's so me. Tells it like it is. He gets annoyed, angry, and hurt by her but knows deep down inside she's the only one who knows him and puts up with his quirks. She helps him in more ways than ever. He loves her.
Actress Marissa Tomei takes the stand as the rest of the cast settles into their places. "Action!". Cameras roll, Miss Tomei vanishes and Mona Lisa Vito comes alive. A most captivating performance. And Miss Vito is a honey!
Best supporting role...this movie would be incomplete without Mona Lisa Vito. Nice to see a role where a woman isn't afraid to talk shit right back at 'em.
Marisa was absolutely brilliant in this movie. Her timing, accent the whole thing. Quite honestly as someone else said. I could just listen to her reading through the phone book. Absolutely cute and sexy! She was smart and funny! The movie What Women Want was another masterpiece of what she can do!
You cut it too soon, one of the funniest insults is: Vinny: "You know what this means?" Mona: "Yeah, you think I'm gonna marry you now." Vinny: "What, you're not gonna marry me?" Mona: "No way. You can't even win a case by yourself. You're f**kin' useless."
@Shirl Zitting Could've responded without the virgin comment. It's clear that you make comments like the ones you've made because you can't get men to pay the same attention to you that they pay to women like Marisa Tomei. Also, in the future, you wanna be careful what you say to someone online. There's a lot of people out there that know how to use a computer to find out where someone lives. Say the wrong thing to someone like that online could very well result in them on your doorstep being the last thing you see! And since your response to my comment shows you to be an immature woman...
Having seen the original movie I would actually like to see what happened after. I imagine that they had a very passionate marriage and probably would still be married. I also imagine that she went and got her law degree and they work together in their firm or she became a private investigator and they work together in the firm.
Marisa Tomei is literally the definition of "fine wine".
This is precisely why Marisa Tomei earned the Oscar - punchy lines delivered with aplomb; every moment well earned.
I swear i could listen to her read the phone book and still be entertained. That accent is everything.
And a real accent. She’s from Brooklyn.... fugetaboutit.
@@lescobrandon3047 Thats not her real accent.
@@Anthony_Spilotro he meant the accent is real, not her accent in this is real

I don't care if her accent is real or not. It is nice, attractive and fits her character perfectly.

The entire world fell in love with her because of this movie. "Yeeeeah, das it iz broken." LOL Adorable
If only social media exist d back then.
Joe: she’s my girlfriend.
Internet: no, she’s our girlfriend!
I agree! She deserved that Oscar!
She made that movie what it is.
A lesser actress would have played up all the stereotypes, but she hits the nail on the head with an amazing, endearing performance! ❤
Judge: She’s your witness! Why are you asking to declare her a hostile witness?
Vinnie: She’s my fiancé.
Judge: Oh. Well now I can understand the hostility.
You think I'm hostile now, you wait until tonight...
Exactly!
Fred gwynne was awesome as the judge... the look on his face when joe pesci runs his mouth lol
How can she be super cute when happy, mad, sad, or just sitting quietly? The definition of a "10".
She had me at “Dickhead”
"Oh, yeah. You blend." Perfect.
I didn't know "blend" had four syllables
That and stand by your man playing in the background!!
1:11 has lived rent free in my head for decades.
Marisa Tomei was such an absolute bombshell in this movie. ❤
I wish there was a My Cousin Vinny edit with only Marisa Tomei's scenes. She is a criminally underused actress.
We need a cousin vinney part 2
@Angel rose You might have a point.
Did you watch King of Stanton Island? She Co-stars beside Pete Davidson and Bill Burr, its a great movie.
I love Marissa Tome. That movie made me fall on love with her. She kept me cracking up the entire movie. She delivered her lines like no one else could. Plus it doesn't hurt that she's also easy on the eyes.
This woman got hotter even as she got older.
No wonder happy was hitting on her

Loved their relationship in this movie. They were both being themselves.
Marisa Tomei would have been a great Harley Quinn.
I am The Batman well, she’s an amazing Aunt May
Assuming she would want that shitty role. I sure as hell wouldn't.
Yes!
I think she'd be great in Goodfellas also.
Omg quit making everyone into Harley Quinn
