18:50 connect: an sdk here, i was struggling to see how the corner was alive (without having to play after b cuts...) so yeah. i'd 100% connect that. this is a good example imo of your approach in playing to miss all but the most clear kills, which helps me approach the game without having to commit hundreds of hours (tedious to me, but even when you like it, it's still hours) to learning to deep-read things. re the killings: well yeah, ofc when yr opponent wishes to commit sudoko it's rude *not* to swing the sword that brings their suffering to a swift & relatively painless conclusion.
Seriously? If black cuts white can secure an eye by playing the move 1 below black’s cut, and then there is at least 1 eye in the corner, or two if black gives white 2 moves. So it’s very alive
@@stonemuncher9494 bD6>wD5>bB1>wA3>bA2 and it's ko for life EDIT: Nevermind, bB1>wA2 and black can't hane to falsify the eye because then white captures the 4 stones
Yes, you're absolutely right (that works for black to make 2 eyes), but instead of trying to kill the group by preventing black from playing f8 (by eating the 3 stones), Dwyrin decided to show us how to handle the right of the board (there was a better lesson for us there: showed us not to invade the bottom right, but the bigger middle right with an attachment).
Phenom Uprising yeah, I understand. I think it’s super nice that dwyrin does that to teach. I guess I’m surprised black didn’t play that after dwyrin didn’t take the 3 stones.
Holy crap, I only just realized the name Batts comes from your struggle with whether or not to kill. (I knew it stood for battousai but didn't make the second connection).
Around 5:10, you intentionally make an elephant's eye. Why is it not bad? At my mid DDK level, I got bitten too many times by it to even try it anymore...
It's not really an elephant eye as he has a stone "behind" it. The reason why the elephant eye is bad is because you can separate the two stones, but if you have other stones around the cut might be bad or unplayable. You can check by yourself thet pushing in the elephant eye there wouldn't be good for b. Some tesujis are involved with this shape too. Check this if curious: senseis.xmp.net/?CrosscutAfterTowerPeep As a rule of thumb, don't be afraid of playing an elephant step if you're strong around, avoid it otherwise.
1st comment on last basics video of the year! I like how you totally wrecked that wall in the first game. When someone goes all-in on one area it kind of sucks for them when it fails. That's the old Japanese go proverb don't make "Ippoji!" 😄
@@dwyrin i'm 3k ogs and i consider if i have to connect or not against a peep , i think in 1k or dan basics you should punish a little more his mistakes

lol i loved that part
This was more murderous than 90% of murder mondays... and I absolutely loved it!
Batts: We don't kill in basics
Also Batts: Why is there blood everywhere (゚-゚;)
holiday miracle

40:27 - percentage drop shown in left upper corner: "Last move:...%". Just in case you don't love math :)
@S9 i don’t understand that move. Does the hane not work?
New to go, maybe dumb question: at 22:49, why can’t black play f8? Doesn’t that give blacks group 2 eyes at f7 and g6?

Thank you for the detailed explanation....
How do you play two space jumps or large keimas? I have no idea how to use them and get cut easily
this is such a funn video

Idk if it's just me, but I definitely don't think a SDK would connect there. Follow the proverbs..
i'm OGS 10k and I didn't want to connect D6; people at my level sometimes peep cuts which dont actually matter at all (both side alive anyway).
That's just it, it occurred to me that 'even a moron connects vs the peep' so i thought...yeah i need to connect there in basics. ya know?

16:38 i think that cut doesnt work
I see the g3 attachment all the time tho o_O
i enjoy seeing what the AI liked and disliked
Omg am I literally the only go player in Indiana. It usually feels like I'm the only intelligent person in the state but damn
