Most beautiful lumber that I’ve seen you saw!!!!
thanks Roger.
It looks a lot like Alabama red oak to me but up north it could be any thing ha ha God Bless y'all and keep making the movie's
thanks Gene.
That first log would’ve been great for timber framing, boxing the heart for a 8x8 post. Loved the clear in it, hope they don’t get used for horse boards.
yes it was nice , not sure what he will do with the wood.
It is the "ugly" logs that make your show interesting. The attraction for me is waiting to see what is under your first cut.
yes it never gets boring for me.
Very beautiful grain 🙏👍🏻
yes for sure Barry.
Settling down to watch in Cape Town, South Africa. Good evening all!
good evening Rod.
Second was a dog of a log.
Is it still raining in Cape Town? Weve now got 10 feet of snow in eastern Canada. Jamie
I flew to Cape Town from Pittsburgh Pa USA. Second longest flight in my life. The longest was the one back.
@@jamesmoir6208 The rain has finally ended today, but more expected overnight/early morning. Been playing havoc with the TV production I'm working on!
Wow - that was the cleanest log I've ever seen!
yes for sure Eric.
The first log was as fine a piece one could hope for. Literally no waste and uniform top grade through and through. For forty years our custom cabinet shop used mostly Wisconsin red oak and were never disappointed in the quality of the lumber.
we do have some nice red oak here but this was really nice for sure.
That is one of the nicer oak logs I've seen you cut.
it sure was.
This is one of the nicest pieces I’ve seen you cut. It’s actually beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.
thanks Alyce.
Two firsts for me today. Never have I seen a Scarlet Oak or a Black Oak. The girls at Lumber Capital Log yard had a Black Oak on their mill today.
two in one day that's good.
That first log: wow. Truly beautiful lumber, all the way to the pith.
not many like that one.
MEGA BOOMS right out of the gate👍👍😎😎
yes sir Greg.
You were right Mark. That first log was beautiful. Love the booms!!!. Stay warm and Gos bless
thanks Doug.
I think that's the nicest log that you guys have cut. Just beautiful
thanks John.
I work at a sawmill an enjoy coming home an watching your sawing videos. Nothin like sawmilling it gets in your blood
thanks Bryan , yes for sure the sawmill is my happy place.
There is a snow storm on the way to Wisconsin. I always enjoy watching you guys work. I do not have any trees to harvest but I still wish I had my own sawmill. There is something about seeing the grain for the first time. Sometimes you get nice clear grain boards and other times you get splits, rot and knots. Momma said you never know what is inside. I hope that all is well with your and your family. Stay safe.
thanks Alan , great comment.
All the lower grade logs you saw makes you appreciate it more when you get some very nice sticks. Pleasure to watch.
thanks Bob , yes very true.
Number one log=Number one lumber. Number two log= junk on the bunk. Great video again from the bus motor saw mill.
thanks Jake.
Thank you for the video Mark Galicic .

best log i have seen on your mill
one of the top 10 logs.
I've never heard of scarlet oak but that log is definitely a deeper red than any red oak I've ever seen. I've watched, enjoyed and thumbs up'd all of your videos. I don't comment often but if more comments enhance your standing with UA-cam then I'll make an effort to comment more often
thank you , yes it was a very deep red , scarlet oak is from the red oak family .

HI MARK the bark on the 1ST log looks like chestnut oak years ago U use 2 alot of it not much anymore mark U talk about the air from the saw blade that's how most Sawyers kept cool or they used a fan at sawmill a great strong breeze was the best air 4 the sawyer and 4 the straight exhaust singing 🎶 in the wind most sawmills had a sawmill shed even though U was under shade U still wanted a good breeze I still can remember the frick sawmill I worked at the old hand 🖐 dogs were changed 2 air dogs the carriage had 5 head blocks on it ,it was all steel hand set sawmill yes U still had 2 pull the lever everytime 😊😊 U wanted 2 saw a line TLC/OMG 3 9 2O23
not sure what it was but very clear.
Lovely superb Nice sawing of scarlet oak log
Beautiful Lumber!
Good morning from Australia. Absolutely beautiful timber
for sure.
Nice oak!
thank you.
I love it. I've long thought that instead of saying little boom, you should say thump.
thump is good lol.
Thanks!
thank you Dale.
Nice log the first one. No knots and almost clear right through. Pity the last log looked like farm grade. You guys SAW that coming.
yes one nice log and one ugly log in the same video lol.
Nice job...Have you ever sawn any Bog Oak. I seen some the other day and it was ancient! Hundreds of years old and solid Black. Beautiful and very dense. Love to see to saw some!
thanks Tim , no I never heard of it before.

thanks Randy.
Good evening from Mönchengladbach Germany.
good evening Roger.
VERY GOOG !!!ben
thanks Ben.
Best video I have seen so far for identifying the laser
so you did see it today.
@@markgalicic7788 many times tbf. Thanks Mark
All I can think is square them up glue Em up clairemont makes some beautiful cabinets or something out of those Only somebody like you can put that through enough pieces of equipment in knowledge and make a cabinet I'd like to see one of your cabinets sometime if you'll ever show it to us thank you very much
yes cabinet grade for sure , I want to do more shop videos this year.
I am no expert by far but that scarlet oak is a beautiful piece of wood!
thanks John.
First log had some very fine furniture quality wood it would appear. I always learn something new with every log you cut. Not sure I told you but I was stationed with an Ed Horvath in Vietnam, perhaps T.H.E.s dad?
thanks Charles , not sure about MR. Horvath.
Great looking lumber today on #1. #2 not so much.
thanks Terry.
Dobry wieczór z Polski!
thank you.
Red Oak makes beautiful lumber, usually.
this was a perfect log.
That first log was really nice. It's rare to get that much select lumber out of one log.
thanks John , yes it's vary rare.
Good video Bus Motor Productions
thanks James.
Thanks
your welcome.
Me too
Your saw mill must smell amazing. I love fresh cut lumber
Sonoma county here. Glub glub
hello.
Thank you guys I'm sorry I'm still in the hospital God bless you all and pray for me thank you Mark Jeezy top and thank you mister Eddy
we hope you get better Chris .
Nice sawing again, Mark. Interesting how that second log was as round as any I've seen in a while and turned out to be a dud.
Bill
yes you never know until you saw it.
Hi Mark and crew! One thing I always wondered after watching many of your videos. When the logs roll off the deck and onto the carriage, it makes that “boom”, but is the carriage and knees built to handle that repeated impact and does it throw off the accuracy of that yellow dial/scale?
these mills are built strong and it lasted almost 40 years now.
BOOMING 💥 BOOM 💥 💥BOOM. BOOM
yes sir Ricky.
Big RED... big beauty
for sure Ron.
Are the logs you are cutting being quater sawn. Great channel thats some beast of a saw.
thanks Robert , this is grade sawing.
Mark, another great video; I enjoy watching you saw these logs. BUT, there is one thing I am seeing that really rankles the hackles of this ol' Native Texan. PLEASE rehang the Texas flag ..... the white stripe is the top and the top hangs to the right, as you ONCE had it hung (e.g., Episode 340). Thanks in advance. 👍👌👍
thanks Bill , every time we turn the flag around someone else complains about it and says it wrong.
@@markgalicic7788 All I can tell you, MArk is that white goes on top, and the single point of the star points up. I'd post a picture here, but that isn't an option.
btw & fwiw, I believe I have spotted 2, maybe 3 Texas license plates on your wall 👍👍
Keep a sawin'!!
@@markgalicic7788
Mark, I stand corrected. According to the official State of Texas web page for how to display the Texas flag as you do, the white DOES hang to the left and NOT as I thought it should be.
Hi from cyprus
Have you ever had a carriage derailment during loading a log
Or any other major malfunction while sawing logs ?
Great video's, keep it up .
Thanks.
thanks Mick , no major problems so far .
Hey, I just noticed that you hit 65k!!! Right on! Mark, how many colours or types of Oak are there?
thanks Artemus , we have over twenty species of oak here.
That’s a typical Black Oak, any time you see that pithy yellow under the bark it’s a sure way to tell a Black Oak
no lumber like that at lowes
Are there alot of grease fittings on mill carriage and log deck???
yes there are.
