2008 Volvo S40 2.4L Trunk Doesn't open wires cut off Problem

Trunk Doesn't open from Latch or Keyless Entry fob, Problem turned out to be cut off wires from opening and closing of trunk. This problem is pretty common on these kind of vehicles.

Your are a life saver! I replaced the trunk switch and it worked for like week and stopped. Saw you video, looked at the wires and 4 wires were nicked and all touching together. Fixed them and trunk opens right up! Thank you so much!!

Thanks for this video, I have S80 2013, exact same problem as yours. But I have multiple wires cut, how do you know which wires are in pair?

You will need to spend sometime using a tester and trace each one following colors if possible. I am not sure what it looks like in a 2013 model. Thank you

@@autorepairchamps Thanks, but in that model, all the cables are in black, 6 black cables, I don't like that Turkish vendor who provides this cable, I just bought a new one incase wrong connection will burn some other parts.

@@zhengliang2253 Hi, did you able to replace the whole wire harness? I have same issue with 2010 S80. Six black wires got cut. I fixed it by connecting different wires (took an hour!!). Now everything works.I taped it. But later I want to replace the trunk wire harness. But its really difficult to see where it is connected inside trunk.

Is there a way if opening the boot without getting inside through the back seat and undoing the boot latch cause on my 2005 volvo s40 doesn't have a key slot to open it manually.
