Yeah higher notes really break through distortion, while the distortion takes effect really well on lower parts, so in metal the rhythm sounds a lot more punchy and well, rhythmic, and the lead is the singer, especially if it's death metal and the singer is more just talking rhythmically

I like it, thank you. I am not American and live in a poor country unfortunately, but I can relate much to this song and the spirit of your people. The lyrics that describe the search for the flag in the morning after the night are very touching. It is like a symbol that eternal, universal values survive the night (darkness, troubles of the world) and as they persist the morning of a happier future will come. It is also applicable as a symbol of overcoming the difficulties in our lives believing in universal positive values. It therefore may be a hymn of every good man. Best wishes and hats off.
