I remember the scene with Zack, Hannah and Dexter being in the same room and all it felt like some crazy family reunion. Wish they kept his character for a little bit longer instead of getting rid of him for something that felt like cheap shock value
Agreed. I always thought they should've had the character survive and made a spinoff for him. Instead we get Harrison who is a poorly created substitute.
I guess because I have a nephew whos dad abandoned him. Then when he was 18 and came looking for our side of the family. I can appreciate how accurate the portrayal is, minus the killing of course. He did get a in fist fight with his dad tho so thats kind of the same like when Harrison shot Dexter. But yeah I see the similarities. People may not like it but its very accurate to what a hurt abandoned boy may feel.
I thought Zack was gonna be the spin off. A sloppy Dexter learning/messing up. I loved the idea for it but BOOM dead in the next few episodes I hated it
I'll be honest, the first time I saw Harrison in the New Blood, I thought he was the same actor as Zach. I liked how Zach was pretty laid back when compared to Dexter and really thought they would have a good dynamic.
She had a son who drowned and now in Dexter Origins, they've invented a kid of Harry's who drowned that was never mentioned in 8 seasons of Dexter or in Dexter New Blood. It just keeps getting dumber.
Since Vogel is in season 8 and it's clear that Harry made the code, I disregard season 8 as canon, except for Zach Hamilton (excluding his death scene).
SERIOUSLY! I just got done binge watching the show a week or two ago and it's so disappointing how they wasted him. Harrison *kinda* fulfills that role in New Blood but it wasn't that good.
Dexter has a way of making me hate characters of the start and loving them later. I both hated and loved loving Doakes, Miguel all those guys thinking they would be regulars only to you know what at the end. Miguel after Doakes was my favorite. They did not do enough with him.
I think the writers were always afriad of giving him a real partner but the love the build up to it, so at the end of every season they always back out of if becuase they realize if there was another one out there, it wouldn't make dexter special😢
Zach's potential was doomed from the get go because well, this was Season 8 and Dexter already tried two proteges. Lumen and Prada, both failed for different reasons. Prada went rogue and Lumen got closure. I can't see how Zach suffers a fate that's basically retread of either one. Especially given his motives. I do see your reasoning, especially with the issues with New Blood (though I am fine with it for the most part) however I think at the time Zach came in when he did would've been wasted regardless on how they worked him. Now if he replaced someone like Hannah, then that would be *awesome*
Bro was the Harrison we never got….
@VadikoLasma 💔
harrison is so annoying man i cant even stand for it
This x million. About come in and say.
They should’ve just pretended or died his hair blonde since he had it young like his mother’s.
I was so angry when oliver killed Zach, he had so much potential man
Completely agree with your assessment! Zach needed more screen time. He could’ve been Dexter’s “spiritual little brother”.
More like a spiritual father
Zach was easily my favourite part of season 8, definitely could have Been a great character

Couldn’t of said it better man
is anyone gonna talk about how Zach Hamilton looks exactly like Harrison?
Fr🤣
@@TheCodeOfKay like if somebody told me that it was the same actor I would probably believe them

I definitely agree, at first he annoyed me but later on he becomes much more likeable
I’ve never noticed till just now but ya they look like twins. It’s weird that they picked a after that looked similar to him to play Harrison
Dr. Vogel was the absolutely worse character in the whole show. She ruined it for me. Such a ridiculous plot.

Dude was great in the following

@@RollingTidePod that’s a fair point it was the last season at the time after all too. Still he definitely could of left the show in a better way.
Spinoff material.
Weird they got someone to play Harrison who looked exactly like him lol. Honestly as soon as they killed him season 8 went to shit .
Should I watch?
yes
You absolutely need to watch dexter
