He hasn't though has he. He's basically only gone to tourist parts of cities so you just see vendors. Doesn't represent general India at all. The heart of India is in it's villages, where 65% of the people live. You can only experience it if you travel at that level and he hasn't. So much of what India is about is the traditions, the domestic/family life, festivals etc and this will all be present in villages. He has not shown any of this in his videos.

Yes, Tony. They're the best. They have had multiple international awards over the decades, and they are considered 'the best' in India despite larger Indian hotel groups existing. If you work in their properties... you can get placed anywhere in the entire globe - that's how high their standards are. They have their own hotel management program and it's highly regarded. P.S. They dared to shut down their New Delhi flagship hotel for a 'two-year' period for a US$ 85 Million renovation... and it still had no impact on their business continuity.

Chitra at the hotel oberoi is a great ambassador for this site. She paid so much attention making eye contact. So knowledgeable about the hotel and its facilities. She was very eloquent. Unlike the bloke at reception desk, seemed pre occupied, 🙄. Staff are the most important investment in hospitality. Thanks Davuud 🎉😊

Chitra seems to be trained well. Not many employees have such good product knowledge. The reception guy needs to learn how to respond and engage with a guest. When asked about the hotel he was very hesitant to say that it is indeed the best hotel irrespective of whether it is or not

They were hostile and should quit their HOSPITALITY job. On the other hand, Chitraleka (the lady who showed him around) was friendly and nice, and she deserves a promotion over those 2 jerks. She did her job well. Kudos to her!
You have a behavorial psychology degree? If no, then I'd suggest stopping the armchair diagnoses. You can clearly see that they're busy filling details in forms or calling. There is no sign of hostility at all.

Hello Davud: nice video and a quick question: how did you manage a 10,000 rupee deal at the Oberoi? I assume this is recent? They are routinely charging 15,000 rupees + taxes or more at the moment. I am asking because I'm heading to Kolkata again (after 4 years) and would love to stay at the Oberoi Grand again, at around 10,000 rupees...
Actually, there are no Indian foods, because each state and nation has its own cuisine. The Indian foods served overseas are mostly Mughal-influenced Tandoori and Curry dishes. The United Kingdom is often considered to have some of the best Indian food outside of India and 90% is run by Bangladeshi Sylheti origin(around ten thousand restaurants in the UK). India is ranked fifth on the global list of the best cuisines for 2022, according to Taste Atlas. The ranking is based on audience votes for ingredients, dishes, and beverages. Italy's food came in first place followed by Greece and Spain. West Bengal and Bangladesh have some of the best cuisine and the highest number of non-vegetarian people live in Bengal among the Indian states. Southern, Northern India, and Bengal have the best cuisines. Middle India is majority vegetarinians and some states' cuisines are terrible.
