‘The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was’ is(in my opinion) one of the most emotion provoking song(s) that any Metalcore band has created(From what I’ve been exposed to anyways).
Of course, it’s simply a game of opinions and I respect you being honest about yours as always. Butttttt, to me that song is just an absolute swell of emotion from start to finish & I’m so happy they Implemented some more of those beautiful vocal melodies into this track as well✨ Keep up the good, honest work brotha 💜

I 100% agree with. 'The sun sleep, as if it never was' is my all time favorite. It made me tear up so many times, gave me goosebumps and all the feels. It's a metal core masterpiece no doubt.
Y’all need to react to the band. As We Burn - as the sun went down this song is the definition of great metalcore

The Gojira in studio "Global Warming" performance is chilling. If you watch it performed, while reading the lyrics it really can be an emotional Rollercoaster. They care deeply about the song. So much so that they don't play it live because it ruins the vibe.
Marcus just keeps showing us that his vocals have gotten better and better with each release, and their songwriting is top notch, so far Periphery will be tough to beat but Heavener is gonna be a contender for AOTY when it releases

@@Nathdood No denying that, the Sleep Token album is gonna be great, but I feel like the rest of the tracks need to hold up to the current singles released, Heavener exceeded the hype from the singles in my opinion and if Bring Me Back To Eden does the same it's going to be a tough choice for sure at the end of the year. I'm also hyped for the VoM album [m]other as well. It's a great year for music 🤘
Take Me Back To Eden takes it but this album is my favorite because it is phenomenal

this song really gets me in my feels. Invent Animate is something really special and I cannot wait for the album. every song has been amazing and well written. so captivating
“Luna” is still my favorite Invent Animate track. Can’t get over the story with that one.
This is also my favorite of the 4 singles because it’s just so cohesive. Every decision they made was perfect.
Also, Marcus is rightly going to get a lot of praise here, but can we take a second to appreciate the DRUMMING?! 😱

Luna and Fireside are fantastic imo.
This song gave me big the dark pool by Thornhill vibes mixed with a Northlane Obsidian drum beat, and it can't really go wrong for me from here 😂 their best song for sure
Could be my favorite Invent song. It has everything. Beautiful singing, gutturals, heavy chugs and also some alt-rock vibes at the start.
Immolation of Night still my favorite new song, but this was damn good. Future of metalcore right here

Honestly this song is now my favorite. I can't choose which is the best out of 3 other singles though, it's very hard because of difference... This band has got everything that i love about this genre.
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲 is a very good modern metalcore song and honestly it's very unique, like i've never heard anything like this before personally.
𝐄𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 has the best chorus in my opinion and i really enjoy it.
𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 sounded like early Northlane to me, but at the same time it got that Silent Planet vibe and still unique in it's own way.
𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫 sounds like if Thornhill is mixed with Holding Absence and some Northlane-like stuff, but way more emotional.

Incredible progression in their songwriting skills. That post-breakdown bridge into the raspy croon into the higher falsetto note. Markus was hitting a lower-octave version of the falsetto at the beginning of every previous chorus, but they held the bigger moment until the end for more impact. Bravo.
I love Heroine and I love the Dark Pool, but if Thornhill was going to go for the more shoegaze-y sound this is how I wish they did it. Still melodic, ambient, and emotional but lots of technicality still.

This is my favorite song from them with Marcus 100%. I feel like this is THE song from them I'll be able to have on constant repeat.
Very very simple song when you break it down. That chorus just sends it over the edge.
In terms of structure, yes. But the rhythm's on display are actually pretty advanced.

Even if for some reason you try to find a way to not like this song, you can't help but appreciate the emotional presence Marcus brings vocally and lyrically how well this whole album was written and specifically this song. Felt this one in my heart and will always hold a special place in it.
I’m glad you said it so elegantly. I had the same issue with Sleep Token at first where I just couldn’t get why people love them so much. Then it took one single to make it all make sense. This IA song is the one for me too that checked all the boxes to really feel that shit and captivate. Great reaction!
One of my favourite IA songs is definitely Cloud Cascade or Elysium.
The lyricism, the musicality and range is just beautiful. This track floored me. Marcus's vocals have been getting better and better and this was truly his final form and solidifies what he's capable of, absolute solid track and I'm so glad they released this before Friday as a single... Bring on Heavener! 🔥

I absolutely adored The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was, but I've never really been hooked with any of their previous work.
Immolation of Night I thought was SUPER overhyped. So many people saying it was like the best song they've released, the heaviest they've done, etc. and I just wasn't impressed with it AT ALL.
This song is a lot more like The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was, and I love it all the more for it (aka, I actually enjoyed this one).
I desperately hope to love the new album like that EP (Which by the way was my #1 release of all of 2021); if the album trends more towards this style, it'll finally win me over in a way their first 3 albums never worked for me.

I've had a Dark Pool itch for the past 2 years and this song fucking scratched it for me.
It's feels like getting hooked into my emotions and it's fucking unreal. I hope they do more of this in the future, it's such a good sound.

I rarely cry because I straight up hate it but this song always makes me cry.
Most likely due to the incredibly sad topic of the song, mixed with the rush of doomed memories that force themselves into my head like ink into a water cup. It definitely is overwhelming at times.
Crazy how the notes and mix channel such cathartic emotions that were often left buried completely.

This is my second time heading Without a Whisper and it's so beautiful; i'm very excited for Heavener. as far as my favorite Invent Animate song, it would have to be Elysium; it may be recency bias but that song just has all the elements i love in a song that is heavy musically and emotionally.

I think I prefer shade astray and immolation of night but still a really solid track, the chorus and the heavy elements mixed in with the chill will definitely be a grower... Actually on re listen this fucks, can't wait for the album!!

my favorite IA song is an oldie but a goodie. Its off their album "Stillworld" and its called Agora. I think this is a great track and I enjoyed it much more than Immolation of Night (though that song is fine). Overall I think this album is sounding great based off the singles, so I'm excited for Friday

Depends what you like about their music, because they do it all. Want heavy? “Immolation of night”. Want emotional? “As if it Never Was”. My personal favorites are “The Sun Sleeps” and “Shapeshifter”

Either when the Sun sleeps, or Luna. Mostly because the emotional ties to suicide. Once you realize that Luna is about losing a brother it hits like a Mack truck.

I agree I could never get into them at all until this song. If they leaned into this exact sound they would easily be the best Metalcore band.
I'm torn between False Meridian or Purity Weeps being my top tracks on this album, especially being a drummer myself.
Man it's gonna be so difficult to choose between Sleep Token and Invent Animate for AOTY... those 2 bands are just the best this year but I can't say one is better than the other, cause they're so different

I thought Shade astray was going to be my fav track from heavener then they released elysium and I thought elysium was going to be my fav track cause there is no way they release something even better and even more filled with emotion right ?... without a whisper is my favourite track can't wait for the album

It’s crazy how much I love this album I have always listened to invent animate but this album definitely hits different. I just told a friend today that as far as new albums go I think this one tops Periphery V and I love that album.

I really agree with your take on IA. The technical ability has always been there, but their songwriting was their weak spot. At times, ERRA had this same issue. That's why ERRA's newest album, in my opinion, is such a strong add to their discography; they seem to have really dialed in their songwriting, but still showcasing all the technical ability. Hope IA does the same with their new album, from the singles, sounds like they are

I, myself, am missing IAs technicality here.
Hear me out - I think Greyview and back, for me, being an IA fan since Naturehold, had better and more fresh songwriting. Their new stuff, while I love it so much, does make me a tad nervous (any change makes me feel this way and I just gotta warm up to it).
To me they’re stuff prior sounded more heavy and more ambient.
But like my opinion is different than MBs, and all the rest of us, you can this comment with no qualms bc it’s just how I’ve perceived IAs journey!
Super pumped about the new material and am 10/10 digging IA, regardless of any input i may have cooked up inside lol

Dude, this band is a complete masterpiece and their new album is probably going to be in my top five this year sweet token had a phenomenal album and I love acres burned from Web then new album and these guys will probably be number three but we still got plenty more albums to go this year from other bands and still got a EP’s too but this band they always write phenomenal beautiful music and they are in my top five favorite bands ever on my list they just get music right an imminence there in my top five to call them guys write beautiful music to but I’m looking forward to invent animate new album Friday an l loved this song to an Invent animate reminds me of the band ERRA too another band in my top ten too bro 😎
I never was that much of an IA fan either until they started dropping the singles from this album. I had a handful of songs by them I liked, but I never got hooked completely. I'd say my favorite song by them is "Dark" from their Greyview album. That one always hits me in the feels--- but I think "Without a Whisper" just became my #1

Heavener is such an amazing record front to back. The band has never really been for me, super talented, just not for me. But this new shit is SOOOO FUCKING GOOD. There’s too many bangers to not just have the whole thing on repeat
