  • The new Case IH 380 Magnum and 2150 Early Riser Planter with the Percision Planting Speed tubes comes in this week. We will go all through it and compare it to what we had. A John Deere 8340R with a 1775NT Exact Emerge.
Also our Peterbilt Problems continue as we truck on and continue to fill grain contracts
Plus bossman teaches a CEO class about farming
Ivers Farms is a family run farm located in Southeast Illinois and Southwest Indiana since 1936.

We switched from an older John Deere 12 row to a case ih 16 row and we’ve really liked it. You really only need the one monitor for the whole setup and that part is nice. But the pro 700 can be a pain at times, our planter is a 1250 early riser ground drive so it’s quite a bit different than yours.

Something those kids need to know about farming...it is NOT an 8-5 job. It is a 24 hr/day job. In my opinion the best farmers are the ones who work everyday of the year (except Sunday if that's your deal) and are always planning, repairing and research. Like the young lady said in your CEO Meeting..."there's a lot more to farming that you would think". I have so much respect for farmers. They must know seed, chemical, fertilizer, fuel, mechanics, irrigation, equipment and REPAIR, equipment operation, banking, yield research, marketing their crop, planting, harvesting, maintaining bin sites and mechanicals, managing rent farms, and many other things I can't think of right now. Oh yes, the infamous FSA paperwork. AND they still have a sense of humor!
I very proud of Eli, I bet he will be missed terribly around there. I love seeing everyone on U-Tube and that tractor and planter are awesome!

Ran vset’s for the past 4 seasons! Pretty much don’t have to worry about seed size anymore and there is very few wear items in them. They look cheap compared to jd’s exact emerge meter but they work very well! We actually traded in our case planters this winter and went back to Deere lol. Case makes a great planter but in our area of western Iowa there is very little dealer support for them. Especially on the AFS side of things.

I had a fuel filter base with a pin hoe in the alum base drove me crazy sometimes it worked perfectly and some times usually o a bridge or downtown it would suck air. Finally started carrying a small 12 volt compressor when it quit I would put pressure in one of the fuel tanks and put a gulf tee in the vent line one the other side open the return line and when it ran out truck would start . saved a lot of time and tow bills.

It can be but we start planting beans the same time we start corn so it’ll just be used strictly in beans
