I love my XL7. At 6 months in and 170lbs plus the resistance bands, it still feels sturdy.
I agree mike total gyms are way better than other home gyms xbar,bowflex etc. Way more Versatile and just more fun. And bottom line gave me better results than the bowflex did. Everybody tells me I look good for my age. Lol not sure if that is a complement though.

Just order the g5 I’m 37 and out of shape 6’2” 210 not fat but thick lol. Time to turn it around I started walking 25 miles per week then plan on toning on total gym on off walk days, while eating less sugar and carbs
Love to hear to it! Just keep being consistent with the machine and mix things if needed to keep yourself interested.

Did you get the G3 when it was super cheap from Amazon? Was curious about that. Sometimes can get an extra good deal when they need to clear out some inventory.
Ended up not being a scam unfortunately. Got the money back easy from Amazon, but was too good to be true.
Why is my glide board stuck, it won't glide up or down anymore.
How do the Apex models compare to Weider Ultimate Bodyworks in terms of smoothness, stability, and noise? I’ve had a Weider for several years, but it’s no longer in great shape, so I’m considering replacing it with an Apex, and would love if the Apex is smoother, quieter and more stable (gonna miss the bungee cords, though!)
I the Apex for sure compare and are actually a little smoother especially if you upgrade the wheels to "Huck Products" wheels. Also you open doors to the total gym attachments.
@@hybridresistance thanks! I actually ended up buying the Apex G5 before you replied. It’s definitely smoother/quieter than the Weider, and the ability to detach the pulley cables for exercises that don’t need them makes the whole thing even quieter. Having dip bars is another great advantage. On the down side, I think the squat stand might be even worse than the Weider’s, but maybe I’ll upgrade that eventually.
Great video, I am 6 ft @282 lbs. Would the Apex G5 be okay for me or is it small?. I would like to add weight to it but since I'm already close to 300lbs might be pushing it. Thoughts?
I think you'd be good, but certainly the XLS or FIT would be a more solid feel.
Mike, how much of a difference in performance is there between the Total Gym Fit and the Apex model? I’m looking to upgrade from the Proform Ultimate Bodywork because of the accessories that are available with the Total Gym.
I'd say the FIT just feels overall much more sturdy and a bit smoother than the APEX models. However, if you upgrade the wheels on the APEX to Huck Products (which I highly suggest) it greatly changes the ride for the better. I think with any machine you get used to, but would suggest getting one of the higher APEX models with more increments though.

Supreme doesn't have a weight bar option, so I'd say no to that one.

Much smoother and less aggressive of a ride.
How safe is this machine?
I think it all depends on the user, but considering this thing is often used in rehabilitation/physical therapy clinics, I think it’s one of the more safe’s pieces of resistance training, machines.
