For Evan, I think you are correct. Matt best never espoused the bullshit that Evan has. This guy at least apologized, and donated $100k from his own money, not BRCC to GOA. So, we must allow people to admit their mistakes and fix them. However, watch what they do in the future for sure

What he essentially said in this interview was, "we positioned ourselves the absolute middle of the fence, straddling it perfectly in such a way that whatever the verdict ended up being, we could then position and posture ourselves so that we appeared that this was the position we supported all along." Just like every good fake pandering grifting corporate sleazebag would.

I can't say the company hasn't changed, but wasn't this whole thing because there was a picture of Kyle wearing a BRCC shirt with his discount link? Anyone who is a member on BRCC website (anyone can make an account) has a discount link to earn rewards for BRCC products, an affiliate link just for BRCC points. They said they don't sponsor him, like they don't give him free stuff and didn't want him to profit off of what happened. People mis took that for BRCC not sponsoring his actions. Media ran with the juicy story of a veteran company not "sponsoring" his actions. It's like hiring 10,000 veterans to make fun of Starbucks hiring 10,000 refugees (non Americans). They are actively seeking to hire veterans and first responders but it's a company so they hire people who can do the job. Just because the person that is applying is a veteran doesn't mean they know how to be the lead web designer or head marketing for overseas sales. If you go back and look at all the details of what Matt is explaining this is such a disingenuous bastardization of what actually happened. To sum this all up, they received a ton of backlash from their investors (who apparently were afraid of supporting Kyle or plain out hated Kyle), and Evan Shaffer caved in to the demands of the investors. They also received a ton of backlash for not supporting Kyle from their customers. Which direction did they go? They basically said "F U!" to their customers. And all of that would be okay except for the fact that they built their brand ON MAKING PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY SUPPORTED THE SECOND AMENDMENT!!!!
Turns out there is a difference between people who strictly love guns and people who support the second amendment/love guns. The leadership at BRCC are pure cowards and they love guns, but they sure as hell don't love the second amendment. They love the fact that THEY get to own guns and THEY can use them to defend themselves. They don't like they idea of YOU defending yourself with a gun.

A un-involved 3rd party online saw the pic of KR in the Black Rifle shirt, then ON his own falsely claimed BRCC was offering a 10% discount or offer using Rittenhouse. Hafer & the execs did NOT authorize it nor did they want to seem like they gave KR $$$, sponsor, legal aid(which is fair). The - was how they went too far, making KR seem like a lunatic or neo nazi.

So I'm not a regular viewer, I'm just following up on the BRCC crapfest after finally hearing about the lawsuit (not covered in this clip) they find themselves under, and this popped up.
For Matt- I'm still waiting for a reply from your CS people. Many people like myself sent your company emails clearly outlining exactly what we had a problem with when it came to BRCC. For me, I was deeply concerned that a bunch of 'operators' went in to the most dangerous political combat zone in human existence (a NYT interview) with a plan that amounted to "lol let's wing it". Were we to follow the logic of your response to that article, of course. Were you a real conservative company, you'd have freakin' known better, just as you would have instantly recognized what sort of massive problem Kyle's case was. However, no matter what your concerned once-upon-a-time customer base sent you, you remained silent. That's all people like me needed to hear.
For the VSC team- Your interviewee just said something along the lines of 'we're inarticulate and not used to dealing with these situations', so it's probably not a great idea to try to run cover for them by stating that 'you're so articulate, your problem was apologizing'. Who didn’t know about Kyles case, especially 2A supporting Veterans. I use to love this guy and his partner. Biggest mistake they made was going public with their company, which says a lot about them in the first place. I have their jungle camo fleeces but I was done after seeing how little they cared about doing the right thing as oppose to doing what’s right for weak corporations. My wife and I donated to Kyle and kept doing so even when it was making news that people were being doxed and destroyed for doing so. I publicly made it known I supported him and exactly why. I argued it with family and friends and did what I could to counter the media's BS. I feel good about what I did and how I responded. BRCC elected a much different path. Cheap and easy to beg forgiveness now.
