- Today’s guest is Evan Hafer.
Evan is a U.S. Army Green Beret combat veteran, the CEO of Black Rifle Coffee Company, and host of the Black Rifle Coffee Podcast.
He served the United States for more than 20 years in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, a Special Forces soldier, and a CIA contractor. He made over 40 combat deployments during the War on Terror.
Evan has long been passionate about great coffee, roasting beans in his garage and bringing duffle bags full of coffee with him on deployments. In 2014, he started Black Rifle Coffee Company.
Today, Black Rifle Coffee Company’s mission is serving “coffee and culture to people who love America.” They are veteran-founded and operated and have made it their goal to hire 10,000 veterans and assist individuals transitioning out of the military. Evan also established the BRCC Fund, a nonprofit that supports veterans and first responders and helps conserve the American outdoors.
BRCC also offers content aimed to educate and entertain across several platforms including the Black Rifle Coffee Podcast, the Black Rifle Coffee Company UA-cam Channel, and Coffee or Die Magazine. In 2020, they launched Free Range American, a lifestyle brand and platform focused on the outdoors, Second Amendment news, and American history.

Not sure how open to influence you are Jack, but I love your books and if you ever get tired of writing James Reece, I think a cool tie-in series you could do would be Cold War / Vietnam stuff with Tom Reece. I think that would be a really interesting angle that could continue the Reece story.

Tried pour over for a while till I started pressing. Finally ended up using an AeroPress. Not an ad. The thing just works. Hands down the best cuppa ever and consistent too. Love the BR coffee. Stronk.
$8 glass French press from the store.
French presses are the right direction. I just got tired of crunchy coffee. The AP uses a tiny paper filter and prevents all those grounds from passing. Far less wasteful than a pour over and cleanup is way easier than a French press. Totally worth the price.

I'm so glad, I watched you interview Evan. Evan has received some bad press from time to time. I really didn't know the depth of his background. Evan is a great example, of a true warrior, patriot, war fighter. He took it to our enemies, for as long as he could. He then started the Great company.

Jack, I need to ask a question, why did you let the Terminal list to get so botched up. I love your first 5 books,and if you write more, I am a buyer. Watching the t/v version was so sad they changed almost everything. Missing people, locations Etc.

I haven’t watched the series yet, but my guess is that he was on board for whatever changes because of the great money making opportunity. Keep in mind, Jack has a son with lifelong disabilities where his mission is to make sure that his son will be squared away for life. I admire that.

Does the name Brent Kopacka 38, mean anything to you Tier 1 guys. Military Veteran with PTSD, rec'd Purple Heart
in Iraq. Was left with a head injury that req'd treatment for years. This man was shot dead by a SWAT sniper that was a green beret in his previous life. This happened in Pullman WA on 12/15/22. Then again, Moscow Idaho Military Vet with mental health issues, in standoff with SWAT. They used tear gas to subdue him and he was saved. Why didn't they give Brent, the option of tear gas??? Not right.
That's because Idaho is a free state and Washington is run by communists that hate America. Compare Boise to Seattle and there is your answer.

I 100% agree with them when they say that these people use their donations as a ploy, for advertisement more than the actual act and good deed of the donation. The one thing that I am tired of hearing is every business who claims that they are made in the USA, and in some cases shame you if you don’t buy stuff that is made in the USA. But yet some of them if not quite a few of them, don’t source all of the products that they used to make their business in the USA. If you actually do the research some of these companies who claim that they’re made in the USA get quite a bit of their items from outside the country to save on their overhead. While shaming you if you go and try to buy a similar product that is not from the USA. Also, take a look at the items they have. Not these two particular people. But if you do your research on some other companies that use the “made in the USA“ claim. If they’re successful. It’s even as easy as to check with vehicles, they drive. Quite a few of them are not made in the USA. Just to make your families dollar stretch a little more and have a little less overhead.
If you’re going to claim that you’re made in the USA and also tell your customers or anybody in the United States that they need to do more business with you because you claim that. Make sure that 100% of the stuff that you’re able to get in the USA. You actually do. keep your mouth shut. Allow people to comfortably buy the products that they can afford for the families that they happen to support.
I do understand that Evan’s business doesn’t allow him to get his product in the USA because of the climate that he needs to get his product from. Like I said, I’m not particular talking about these two individuals. But others who make that made in the USA claim.

1. The idea of Jocko free falling through the air is pretty funny. No offense or anything but he ain’t a ballerina.
2. Special guys are just regular dudes that push harder. The delta between me and Snaz isn’t that far except there is a drive that I didn’t have when I was 20.

Great podcast. Love the books and BRCC. I was surprised to hear you talk so positively about Tucker Carlson. He is has spread so much disinformation. How do you square that with the guy who you described as being so down to earth? I'm really asking because Evan had talked about the need to have unbiased news as a requirement for our country to move forward.

Evan Haffer donates $$$ to radical left democrats and the DNC and there was some questionable things said about Kyle Rittenhouse as well, who I think we can all agree, was a brave young man acting in self defense.
I will always appreciate someone like Evan who will go into the armed forces with the intention of serving their country, but there are some problems there as well, and that's why BRCC will never see a penny from me.

He donated money to democrats after he lost a bet. He didn't say anything questionable about Rittenhouse. Kyle was seen wearing a BRCC shirt and the press asked Evan about it, insinuating that BRCC had a business relationship with them. Evan said that they had no relationship.

Can you tell me what research you have done to lead you to believe that? I always hear everyone complain about donations to Tulsi and the Rittenhouse deal but neither of those Elise to what you are saying. People love to hate and most just believe what they see posted on the internet. And oddly enough they all just say go do your research. A conversation can be had but blindly following some random person online seems to be the norm these days which worries me. What would stop someone from saying the same about us?
