What I really love about the dynamic between these two is that Liza is really letting Lorna shine. You can see the love and pride that they have for each other and neither is trying to upstage the other. This is a very touching interview

Liza has the most amazing soulful eyes. How could she not? Both her parents had beautiful sad cow eyes.

5:35 made me cry. Liza saw that Lorna was crying and she couldn’t finished the sentence so she did it idk bout you but that was touching. And when they hugged and said I love you and so on.

Haha, when Lorna says "There isn't an age difference anymore," Liza totally smirks and winks at the interviewer like "That's what she thinks." Classic older sibling, always looking out for the little sister.

Okay, I cried. Really good to see these two sisters together. Sounds as though they all have worked hard to overcome the hardships. It must have been hard for Liza to feel like she needed to be the adult, then Lorna the adult for her brother.

I really like what Lorna said about how "you can't blame ignorance". I never thought of Judys situation with MGM, Drugs, and the lack of knowledge of addiction with ignorance, but now I have a better understanding. I really like Lorna's elaboration on that. She and Liza are very intelligent

klassicalmuzik they pumped her to keep her awake, they wanted her to sleep and oh get her to lose weight...Judy couldn’t win. A blessing for children but a loss for such a great talent who was blameless.

These two are so adorable together, loving Judy's tribute to Lorna too. I do feel in some ways, that when Judy passed on, her spotlight was shone straight onto Liza and Lorna was left in the dark, jumping up and down with her hands in the air, wanting so badly what her sister had and she never quite got there. But MAN, you can really really tell that Liza is Judy's daughter, in so many ways, its so striking!

Lorna is such a kind, caring, compassionate woman. Thank goodness she took care of her mother as best as she could. She, Liza, and Judy were all such special women... each unique and very gifted in their own special way. I am grateful that this (and the other) videos were made about them.

I think Judy Garland's most outstanding work was raising such incredible children who've grown into a caliber of person that is remarkable. Liza, Lorna, and Joe, are keeping their mom alive in various ways. And these two... just classy and talented. Love listening to the trifecta... Judy, Liza, and Lorna!! ❤️
I think what touches me most is that they understand, appreciate, and believe that Judy, despite all her demons, did the best she could and there is such a great pride in that, especially knowing what their mom went through for years. Their unconditional love for their mom was probably, besides her dad, was her first real experience of being loved for who she was, unconditionally and regardless of all else.
Judy Garland... what a concept! May she rest in peace.

My first impression of Lorna was bland, medicore child using her mom's fame for public face --- but i completely change my mind upon watching this interview. She was a daughter and little sister smack dab in the middle of everything from show biz to family chaos. And somehow managed to become a down to earth, sensible adult with a great sense of humor. I can say I'm now a fan of Lorna Luft. Love the sister's chemistry in this interview. She may not look identical to Judy but she has a special place in the world and her mother's story no doubt.

I'm getting there too. My only exposure to Lorna up til now was reading a catty review when i was younger, which dubbed 'songs my mother taught me' 'songs my mother sang better', and I unfairly based my opinion on that. It's good to see her as herself here. Judy and Liza's warmth, openness and vulnerability are a good part of what makes them so magnetic and endearing to people. Lorna doesn't give me those vibes at all, but then, why should she? she isn't them - she's Lorna. It's not her job to be like her mother, or her sister; and it's wrong of people to expect/demand her to be. It's her job to be the best version of herself she can be.

Owing to Judy mother's driving force and MGM having audtioned Judy positively, aged 7 she got the opportunity to be sb in the grand show biz... and her talents and AMBITION and love for working with people all around the clock were the name of the game.
Her gorgeous daugthers didn't have a chance to perform vaudeville numbers like Judy did aged 2 to 7 along with her sisters- The Gumm Sisters of course. ... Judy was born to be the largest diva-kind of singer and performer in history. Wit, charm, talents, stamina and love make miracles for her. Yet at times something's got to give. She realy loved men... unfortunatelly for her Judy didnt make a better research per se beforhand. She wholeheartedly grabbed the guys and placed them close to her enormous heart and soul for good...

Neither of Judy's daughters had the smooth strong vebrato like Judy. Lorna all but yells her songs and Judy was smart enough to control her technique and start a song and built it up to the climax where she would let go and knock the socks off her audience. Judy was the original and didnt have to compete with any person in her family and she had the most beautiful voice the world had ever known.

I was so disappointed that I missed out on seeing Lorna when she came to Australia last year, I would have given anything to go. I love this family and I am one of Judy Garland's biggest fans. I just bought my ticket to see Liza when she comes here in October, can't wait :)

It is very amazing that Lorna doesn't hold grudges against MGM. However, MGM and Garland's own mother put such pressure and insecurity on Garland that I don't think the studio would have stopped the drugs even if they knew the consequences.

i love that sly little wink liza gives the interviewer when Lorna says 'now there's no real age difference'. As if to say 'I'll let you think that sis, but I'm still the oldest. I'm still top dog'

I only knew she sang when I saw her in Grease 2...in the scene in the classroom and she just about blew the rest of the cast away...it's great to see this. I was priviledged to have seen Liza and I would love to have seen Lorna. I hope she takes the great Barry Manilow's advice and pursue her singing AND comedic talents.

I admire Lorna, relate to her more,I think it's her sense of humour....that draws me in. My dad gave me a fab sense of humour before he passed....I always had the gift but didn't realize it.....My father also sang to me Frank Sinatra mostly) I very much admire Stevie Nicks I love to sing myself ( never in public, too shy)
Judy too,but I could never belt out a song like Judy...still hearing Over The Rainbow........ I CRY MY EYES OUT,
IT MAKES ME THINK OF THE DEATH OF JUDY.
I feel for the family,LORNA , GREW UP TOO FAST...,,.,.,., MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU TO THIS DAY a& LIZA.

I got to see Liza at Universal Studios while we were watching the Lucille Ball Show being filmed when Lucy had a broken leg. I’m thinking Lucy was going to sing Caberet. But Liza was 2 seats in front of me and 2 seats over and she got up and sang Caberet instead. That was quite an experience for a little 10 year old. My dad is a professional bowler and we traveled a lot and got to go many places and see many things. We had taken a train from Michigan to California and had relatives that painted on canvas and porcelain and made clothing there in California that we also got to visit. They were the Chapetons. I thought it was horrible to have to be dragged everywhere and stay in motels and hotels but now I see how spoiled we were to get to see so many things, but I didn’t know this till I grew up that others didn’t get to see or do the things we did, I thought everyone had to LOL, a child’s perspective is pretty small. But it was special and a pleasure to get to hear Liza sing and I knew that that part was cool even as a small child. Also at universal studios we got to see this one house that burnt down but really didn’t and the town that got flooded but really didn’t. They could make it look so real. And it’s a small world boat ride and sea world were a few of my favorites in California. Oh and I think it was called Big Bear mountain that I liked also. The ocean was prettier to me in Florida than California though. I loved to sing and watching anyone sing just thrilled me. Thank you Liza for a very nice memory.

Ben Schaeffer I think one of the problems with Lorna is her honesty and transparency. Showbusiness depends on persona or mask to make it work and to activate or alchemize the magic. Lorna wears her heart on her sleeve. Judy and Liza both possess this ability to project persona (a mask) - which is a form of artifice or artfulness. And that's what makes them great performers. With Lorna there seems to be less "mystery" or less complexity; and I think that's what perhaps may have hampered her career and kept her from becoming iconic like her mother or older half-sister. Iconic fame is such a strange beast because here you have 3 women and a younger brother/son Joey. And yet only 2 of them became iconic. Why? They're all from the same family. The answer lay in the mystery of persona: A preternatural ability to project suffering (even when happy) of some kind and the drama (or comedy) of the human condition. Like Judy, Liza knew how to own the stage and make the grand gesture; their performativity was masterful. Posture, gesture, pose, carriage, phrasing, rhythm, pace, kisnestetics, style and grace: all these "soft" skills or sensorial skills are really important and very understudied. People these days all think having a great "voice" is enough. Reality Television franchises like 'X Factor' or 'The Voice' are sardine cans of really great "singers". But who cares?!!!!!Singing well simply isn't enough. Judy's and Liza's voices in fact aren't really that "great" ... when you listen closely. They're often hoarse or too breathy and even sometimes off-key. But WE 'children of Dorothy' don't care! There are a multitude of far greater technical singers out there. (The same could be said of Maria Callas: there were far greater technical opera "singers" but no one could act AND sing AND interpret a story like La Callas!)- same for Judy. Same for Liza! No one can SELL a song like Judy or Liza. Lorna sings well but she doesn't sell it like Mamma did and certainly doesn't "interpret" or "act" through the song the way Liza and 'Mamma' could. Unlike Lorna, they were actresses who sang. Those women act out a song by belting it! That's what selling is: pitching/presenting/spruiking and closing the deal with a big strapping belt! Judy and Liza (along with Frank, Dean and Bing) are the greatest saleswomen and spruikers of the American songbook of the 20th century. Singing is quite something else. That isn't to take away their talent or not pay them their due, but I think the differences should be noted because most people appreciate them but have no connoisseurship about what it is that they're appreciating. 'Ma & Pa Kettle' and even your average queen from San Fran or NYC thinks it's all faaaabulous dahhhling. But no.... Sales is the true Gumm-Garland-Minelli legacy. Not their singing.

Judy got the wizard of Oz, Liza got cabaret. Lorna never got that iconic roll like her mother and her sister unfortunately. If she had this wouldn’t be a debate. Can you name any other roll that was as iconic for Liza besides Cabaret? Not really. Yes her special Liza with a Z. But that’s about it. Judy however had wizard, St. Louie, a star is born, the list goes on. Unfortunately Lorna got Grease 2, 😂 I love her in that movie but it’s not what you would call Oscar worthy. All that aside. 2 very talented daughters of the most talented woman to ever grace the stage and screen.
