    Mr. Omar: Excellent job on the illustration! I just purchased the latest version, due to the pandemic I've slowed down quite a bit. Your illustration has by juices flowing again! Been a BIG believer in the product since version #9. Will tune in from time to time and see what's NEW with you & the product.

    although you don't like background replacement, for the student, this option and shown would have been good to view and learn if it is only for skies or for other backgrounds and how to use and install custom backgrounds.
    Some issues that the program won't be able to handle include photographing up nostrils, bad facial views (particularly the 2/3 view with the nose into the far eye of the blond #2 model), non flattering images of two ears showing on model #1 and stronger highlight on the near ear of the model with long earrings compared to the shadow side of the face. I don't know if the product allows for making tonal adjustments to specific portions of the face via masking which would have been useful to show in a tutorial.
    Also it would be informative to see images of groups to see if the program can handle individual faces within a variety of numbers and sizes and sexes within a group portrait/wedding photo. Maybe for a future time? TIA

    I find myself using the lighting option quite often. I move the "light" to the same point of direction as the original main light and adjust "Modeling" to give a bit more contrast and emphasis to the contours cast by the original main light.

    I am not any portrait photographer but on occasion use PP for photos. I have default settings programmed into PP for male/female etc. - but sometimes the first thing I do is shut everything OFF. I understand why PP would present big changes to photos as examples in ads/promos. But one of the usual complaints/comments on PP ads and promos online, is 'they look plastic' or 'I liked the original better.' So I open photos in PP with minimal defaults. Then add in changes in a much more subtle way. My goal is to make flattering changes without being too noticeable about it. Slight changes to skin/hair and maybe a little more to the directional lighting on the subject to get results I like and so do the subjects of the photos. Have had some success with background replacement, sometimes even with complicated backgrounds. Takes some patience to get a good result.

    I have PP 15. There is hardly any difference between my version15 over your version 21. The version 10 had the hair enhancement feature that is no longer in my version 15. I loved that hair enhancement on 10.

    Hey Omar, I’m trying to decide between Portrait Pro 23 and RetouchPro3. Which one would you recommend?? I can’t make up my mind.

    • @omarortizytc
      @omarortizytc  Рік тому

      hi tony, retouchpro is a photoshop plugin which has a learning curve. portrait pro is more user friendly and offers natural editing and quicker results.

    Thanks for a great tutorial. I have an official purchased program of Portrait Pro 21 which will not upload a RAW file. I'm attempting to upload images from the program as shown in your tutorial and it will only open a JPG file. Support from Portrait Pro is very slow. Any recommendations on successfully opening a RAW file? I'm using the latest Mac OS with i7 processor and 16GB Ram.

      PortraitPro Standard edition supports JPEGs, TIFFs and PNGs with 8-bits per color sample (24-bits per pixel). It can load and save in these formats.
      PortraitPro Studio and PortraitPro Studio Max also support TIFFs and PNGs with 16-bits per color sample (48-bits per pixel). They also support reading most camera RAW file types.

    Hoping 21 is better than 19 which I felt was unusable. All the pretty lip facial colours like lip colour drain out into some sickly pallor and even if you drag the sliders to zero those original colours are gone! Its frustrating because I thought that earlier versions were great!

    HI Omar,
    I'm getting color shifting issue in potraitpro studio 23 after importing the photo from potraitpro to Photoshop. I've changed the color profile in potraitpro but the issue is still there. Do you have any idea why is it happening?

    • @omarortizytc

    I need help not sure if you guys know what to do here. I've purchased the upgrade from PortraitPro Standard to PortraitPro Studio. I was given a token but have no idea where to input it so that I upgrade the software. Here's what i've tried:
    - Uninstalled PortraitPro Standard and reinstalled in the hopes that I would be asked to enter my token again. This was not that case I just ended up with standard again.
    - Went through every tab/menu option in PortraitPro Standard to see if theres anywhere I can input this token. There isn't
    - Went through the whole website to see if theres a way to activate this. There isn't. Every upgrade button on the site just adds the software to your cart
    - I've emailed them and have been waiting for a response.
    I have nowhere else to turn as they don't have a forum and their help page is extremely limited. This has been the most frustrating i've had to go through.

    Can anyone comment on the value of upgrading from 19 to version 21? it's very hard to see the value of shelling ou the upgrade costs. but maybe there's some good reasons to do it?

    • @omarortizytc
      @omarortizytc  3 роки тому +1

      in my honest opinion, there is not much of a difference between the two versions, so it would keep using 19 over 21

    • @zeniamin
      @zeniamin 2 роки тому

      It depends on your workflow. I've aways tried the new versions that came out, but only upgraded when I felt noticeable improvements have been made in the areas of the sofware that interested me. Last update I did was from v.17 to v.21. Everything inbetween didn't justify the paid upgrade for ME.

    Rosetta 2 and Apple M1 have made this app very annoying. Moving the cursor around the retouch window has a huge lag, and makes editing a burden. Unfortunately, Anthropics have no intention to make a compatibile version too soon.
