    Hello,
    My name is Sarah and I am an Industrial Designer. I am currently doing a school project looking at designing an integrated sea and sail kayak, where the sail would not have to be an additional purchase or attachment for the user. I was wondering if you would be able to answer some question for me.
    1. How often do you take people out sail-kayaking
    2. What is your favorite part of sail-kayaking
    3. What is your least favorite part of sail kayaking? (ex: setting it up, storing, drying, hard to control, ugly?)
    4. How often do you use the sail when kayaking? (20%? of the time?)
    5. Does a sail comfort the kayaking experience?
    Thank you so much for your help, and if you have additional comments or suggestions, please include how I can better design a sail-sea kayak for you.

      How does one make a sailboat without attachments? The mast sail and sheets of any portable sailboat must be attached and removable in some way.

    I have an older Wilderness System, Tsunami 140 Kayaks.
    Can this Sail be purchased then easily installed on
    my current Kayak?

    Ginni , How does the mast being mounted that far forward effect handling and performance if you have 50 lbs. in your forward hold

      You'll need to weight your stern for downwind runs or it'll pass you up! Balancing your load is more of an issue than actual weight.

    I have a Pygmy Osprey Standard Single 15' 9". Where can I get one of these in the USA (Oregon) and will it work on the Osprey?

      @Jeff
      Those were Flat Earth Sails which are from Australia.
      Falcon Sails make s a really good one in Ohio.
      Kayaksailor has a bit more complicated rig with leeboards that provide a bit better upwind performance at the expense of weight and compliexity.
      The first two will mount on your Pygmy easily with just a few mounting screws.
