I just tried doing blinking that morse code... But being aware of my eyes made my eyes dry out faster, making me blink more than I should, ruining the supposed blinking morse code. Harder than it looks I guess.

You know the channel does its research when the PAVN soldiers actually wear khaki uniforms in 1965 and switch to green uniforms after 1966 (the year the PAVN began to wear green). Also, some of the AA gunners wear Ssh-40 steel helmets rather than the standard issue pith helmets. The PAVN only occasionally issued steel helmets, and those mostly went to AA personnel. Really good attention to minor details.

You do realize this medal means something, right? To get the Naval Cross is an extremely high honor, and earns you a lot of respect amongst your peers, subordinates, and higher ranking officers. Only the Medal of Honor ranks higher than the Naval Cross.

Steven Lowes the navy cross is more than a piece of metal it’s the highest honor anyone in the navy can receive in recognition of service. For anyone who receives it it is a symbol of great pride after 8 years of torture he still didn’t sell out his country.
Also I’m sure he received his 8 yrs of back pay and some celebrity out of it. Lesser men would of broke after 8 years it’s called bravery and being recognized for it

People now can’t even stand being quarantined in their home for a week. Let alone being put in a windowless 3x9 cell for years ... I couldn’t imagine what he had to go through.
Shoot, all the NV would have to do is take peoples’ cell phones.
According to North Vietnamese at that time, American pilots were not considered POWs since there was no official declararion of war from the US, making them plain "criminals".
And in all technicalities there was no official declaration of war, on could make an argument for the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, but that is a stretch, therefore not covered by the Geneva Conventions, however that doesn’t still excuse inhumane treatment. Also fun fact look up the story with pows giving the finger in a photo.

MaxKiel1701 there is a lot of funding given to veterans, most of them just choose not to go to school with the education that can be given for FREE. Than they get some mediocre job and expect it to give the benefits the military did. Every person I know who was in the military and went to school when they got out are successful, those that didn’t and choose to live off he retired check struggled.
